A list of puns related to "Mahdi"
Is it true Imam mahdi is given a report of our deeds, once or twice a day and how is that possible if he is in ghayba ? Why would the imam be given knowledge of our deeds which is usually known to Allah ?
The Prophet (sawas) and his Progeny (as) gaves us hadiths and signs that describe the time and events of the rising of the Mahdi and his subsequent Faraj. I'm sure many of you heard of or read about these signs.
I used to hear them a lot from my family but never took the time to look up what they really are. I even made the mistake of confusing them with the signs of the End of Times which are two different events. I would also confuse some signs from Shia hadiths with some from the Sunni hadiths.
So what are these signs?
There two kinds:
The definite signs are:
These are the definite signs mentioned in authentic hadiths. They will occur in a very short time frame of less than 2 years before the rising of the Imam (aj).
That's why the Ahlulbayt (as) also gave us other signs that occur earlier. I'm still compiling them but here are some examples:

248- Informed us Husain bin Ibrahim from Abul Abbas Ahmad bin Ali bin Nuh from Abu Nasr Hibatullah bin Muhammad Katib that: Narrated to me Abul Hasan Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Tarbak Rahawi that: Narrated to me Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ali bin Hm;ain bin Musa bin Babawayh or Abul Hasan Ali bin Ahmad Dalali Qummi that;
- "Some Shia people differ whether Allah had delegated creation and sustenance to the Imams (a.s) or not, Some say: It is impossible and not allowed for Him to do -that, since only Almighty Allah can create bodies; whereas some say: Allah, the Mighty and the High has made the Holy Imams (a.s) capable for this matter and delegated them, therefore they create and sustain by the permission of Allah. In any case, there arose a great dispute regarding this matter.
Meanwhile someone said: Why don't we refer to Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Uthman Amari [special deputy of Imam] and ask him about it, so that the true belief becomes clear, since he is channel of access to Imam Mahdi (a.s)?
All gave consent for referring to Abu Ja'far and accepted his invitation. On the basis of this they wrote the question and sent it to him, so that he may get its reply from Imam (a.s). The following epistle was issued in reply: -
Indeed, it is Allah, the Mighty and the High who has created the bodies and distributed sustenance in such a way that He is neither having a body nor has transmigrated into a body. There is nothing, which resembles Him and He is the hearer and the Wise. And as for the Imam (a.s), they request Almighty Allah and Allah, the Mighty and the High creates; They beg from Him and Almighty Allah bestows sustenance. That is Almighty Allah fulfills their request due to the greatness of their right."
Disclaimer: I do not claim the following is true, just an interesting story known among Iraqi poets, which was also revived by Bassim Karbalaei's performance in 2011-2012.
I quote this story of a 1800's Iraqi poet, Sayyid Haidar al-Hilli, who used to write an annual poem each year, and went to the shrine of Imam Hussein AS to recite them there. He would not reveal his annual poems till the day he goes out to the holy shrine and publicly recites them. One year he wrote a poem mourning the tragedy of Imam Hussein AS and beseeching the rise of Imam Mahdi AJF.
While on his way to the shrine to recite the poem for the first time, he was met by a man who saluted him and asked him: "O' Haidar, recite to me your poem 'Allah O' protector of Sharia'". Sayyid Haidar was confused as he has not revealed the poem to anyone by that time. Then he said: "This poem is in classic [fus'ha] Arabic, you may struggle to understand it", to which the man replied: "Recite it, perhaps I will understand it". Then he recited the poem, which is about 75 lines long, until he reached the part (my rough translation):
What moves you if you're patient - [even] to the horrific incident of 'Taff (Karbala)
ู ุงุฐุง ููููุฌู ุฅู ุตุจุฑุชย ย ย ย *****ย ย ย ย ย ูููุนุฉ ุงูุทูู ุงููุถูุนู
Will there ever be a tragedy - more bitter than that tragedy
ุฃุชุฑู ุชุฌูุก ูุฌูุนุฉูย ย ย ย *****ย ย ย ย ย ุจุฃู ุถูู ู ู ุชูู ุงููุฌูุนู

The man started to weep, he stopped him and said: "O' Haidar, it is not within my will". Then Sayyid Haidar realized it was the Imam AJF.
I tried to find more about this story, but it seems to be mostly a tradition passed on orally among Iraqis. Allah knows best.
might be a dumb question, but was thinking about it since Imam Mahdi (as) is going to avenge Imam Hussain (as).
Just wondering
I donโt remember the exact likes of the dream. But I had a dream the world was going to chaos or something. It was a dark world and it had an eerie vibe. But everything was normal and everyone was going on about their life but at the same time everyone was freaking out saying imam mahdi died (stghfarallah idk if thatโs haram of me to say or dream) and there were a couple of people feeling out telling me he disappeared?? Idk. Then I kept hearing someone say imam mahdi is dead and then someone else said no heโs coming. And I was so scared because I obviously want him to be alive. Then me and other people were on white horses randomly and they kept saying Imam mahdi is coming out and the world is going to end. And then something told me be ready youโre going to meet him. Idk if I met him or saw him in my dream but after all that happened, a man walked up to me and my horse, looked at us, and then walked away. And it happened so fast.
Idk what any of it means but man it really threw me off guard. Will I get punished for having a dream like this even though I was not in control? Do any of you guys know what the dream means? Could I have just really met Imam Mahdi (as) in my dream because I think if I did I wouldโve remembered and it wouldโve been under different circumstances
First read this hadith from the Kitab al-Ghaybah of Shaikh Tusi;
>484- Narrated to us a group of scholars from Talakbari from Ali bin Habashi from Ja'far bin Malik from Ahmad bin Abi Naeem Ibrahim bin Salih from Muhammad bin Ghazal from Mufaddal bin Umar that he said:
>
>I heard His Eminence, Abu Abdullah Sadiq (a.s) say: "When the Qaim (a.s) arises, the earth would light up with the luminescence of its Lord and the people would become needless of sunlight. In his rule, all will have such long lifespans that each person will beget a thousand sons. Daughters will not be born to them. He will build a mosque on the outskirts of Kufa, which will have a thousand doors and the houses of Kufa will be connected to the river of Kerbala. So wide would habitation spread that if a person travels on a mule to pray the Friday Prayer, he will not be able to reach in time."
-Kitab al-Ghayba of Shaikh Tusi, H484
Now if we assume that this hadith is reliable, then this hadith says things which can be interpreted from futurist / technological perspective.
It might be talking about an artificial sun, and the prevalence of life extension / the end of aging.
Now this hadith also seems to be saying that the gender ratio will be skewed in towards men. Sceptics may dismiss this saying that Arabs were biased in favor of sons and this hadith feeds on that bias. But thats not really the case, imo. After all, who are the mothers of these thousands of sons if not lots of women?
There is another hadith which predicts two thirds of the Human population dying out before the reappearance of the Imam (as).
>286- Muhammad bin Ja'far Asadi has narrated from Abu Saeed Adami from Muhammad bin Husain for Muhammad bin Abi Umair Abi Ayyub from Muhammad bin Muslim and Abu Basir that he said: We heard Abi Abdullah (a.s) say:
>
>"It will not take place till two-third of the human population does not perish." He was asked: "If two-third perishes, who will remain?" He replied: "Are you not satisfied that one-third will remain?"
-Kitab al-Ghayba of Shaikh Tusi, H286
And another hadith predicts deaths before the time of reappearance due to war and plagues
>430- It is narrated from Fadhl from Ali bin Asbat from Muhammad bin Abi Bilad from Ali bin Muhammad Awdi from his father from his grandfather that Amirul Momineen (a.s) said:
>
>*"Before the Qaim, there will
My friends are non muslims and i want to convert them to Muslim by using these events as proof, i know they won't believe otherwise but don't get me wrong, i don't plan on forcing them. If they still don't believe, I'll leave them alone.
Sorry, another question from me. This is probably going to be one of many questions from me in the coming weeks/months.
Why did the Promised Messiah claim to be Isa, the Mahdi and then claim Prophethood? What benefit did this give as for me, it caused way mor controversy?
I've gone onto Ahmadi answers (https://ahmadianswers.com/jesus/misquotehadith/one/) and have been reading their page on the Mahdi and Messiah being one as I'm really trying to find my answers. I can't find a number of the Hadiths posted on there. Moreover, I find that the Hadiths in my opinion are really bended to try and fit the Ahmadi narrative, case in point being the Hadith around "How will you be when the son of Mary descends amongst you and is your imam among you.โ(Sahih Bukhari,ย Vol. 4, Book 55, Hadith 658) is bended because as it mentions Imam, that implies Imam Mahdi.
Also, another Hadith โIt is near that one who lives from amongst you shall meet โEisa bin Maryam. He will be the Imam Mahdi, a leader and a just ruler..โ(Musnad Ahmad #9117). I can't find this Hadith anywhere, but certain websites that mention this Hadith don't mention the part of him being the Imam Mahdi?
Furthermore from my own research, even though this Hadith isn't mentioned on the webpage, I understand Jamaat also argues that the hadith,"There is no Mahdi except Isa" (Ibn Majah), however from my research this has proven to be weak?
Also, why did the Promised Messiah beforehand claim he was not the Mahdi/Messiah?
ยท"I do not claim that I am the same Mahdi who will come according to (words of Hadith) 'from the son of Fatima and from my progeny' etc." (Braheen-e-Ahmadiyya V, Roohani Khazain vol.21 p.356)
ยท"We admit this that several Mahdis may have come before and possibly will come in future as well and probably someone by the name of Imam Muhammad may also appear." (Roohani Khazain vol.3 p.379)
ยท"It is possible and quite possible that at some time in future such Messiah may appear upon whom the literal words of Hadith(of Holy Prophet) fit, because this humble self has not come with the Reign and Command of this world, but with poverty and humility." (Izala-e-Auham, Roohani Khazain vol 3 p.197)
ยท"It is possible that in future no Messiah may come. It is possible 10,000 more Messiah may come and one of them may descend in Damascus." (Izala-e-Auham, Roohani Khazain vol 3 p.251)
There's also other extracts from his books where he als
