A list of puns related to "Mahamudra"
I have decided to commit on a spiritual path but my life's situations as it is doesn't allow me to attend to a spiritual advisor any time soon. I want to know if one can learn sutra mahamudra using this book alone? I feel so hopeless as my karmic propensities and spiritual capacity have rendered the pursuit of enlightenment so difficult.
Yes I smoke weed, yes I know itโs not the best for you, yes I am trying to quit. But if anyone can answer I would really appreciate it.
Usually I wait about 8-10 hours just to be safe, but I know for cigarettes you only have to wait 1 and a half hours. I donโt like waiting so long to do the practice so Iโm hoping I donโt really have to wait that long. I donโt even feel the effects of weed after 2 hours.
Hello everyone, namaskar, this is Kartik, age 17, M.
I came across Sadhguru's YouTube videos somewhere around in March, loved his intellect, knowledge and humor and watched a few more videos. Since, then I've been obsessed with Sadhguru.
I then came across Inner Engineering and its benefits and reviews and really wanted to try it out. But, as I tried to register for it, the fee was 2400Rs. as I recall. Being 16, and living in a religious, non spiritual family who is struggling with money, this was just tooo much that I could ask for.
I then went on a google search spree to find the course anywhere across all of internet and finally found a source on Telegram, I watched all 7 of those videos, with devotion, drew many many conclusions from it and truly it was a life changing experience. Then, I don't know why but YouTube recommended me one of the videos 'Is receiving Shambhavi Mahamudra online as impactful as in person?', then found out about the practice and how it is done only online and I cannot learn it from anywhere else (of course except locally) and that it is not free.
Now, I looked up for the registration fee and it was about 5000Rs. (2.5k+2.5k for IE), was unable to afford 2500Rs, let alone 2500 more. I even contacted the team via emails to know if there exists some age policy or perhaps if the course could be provided at a lower cost, but was disappointed.
I cannot afford the registration fee, and really really want to get initiated into the kriya.
What should I do now? Can anyone please give me some advice and/or help me out? Please.
So I'm a school student and can't enroll for the shambhavi online, moreover there are inner engineering and shambhavi mahamudra online programs as 2 things, i can't really pay for them , so how can i even know what to do how to do and learn about that program? Can i get an online book to read on it from some source?moreover course isn't much expensive for adults but as a student i need to wait for 3-4 years to enroll for it but sadhguru is yogi so y does charge so much? I have been listening to him for a month on ytube and really can't understand the way to do shambhavi mahamudra, i understand that program can't be gifted to me but can i read about it somewhere?i can literally can't find any source online
I have my inner engineering coming up . My worry is will it affect my romantic urges and make me disengaged from physical intimacy with my partner . Because that is something I want to experience . I'm afraid shambhavi will wipe it off . I mean I'm okay if it does , but I've not yet been with someone . What if by the time we come close , I'm already done with sex .... It will be disastrous for her and me too .
Can someone who has gone through the program shed light on this .Thanks
Namaskaram!
I'm just wondering! Like Sadhguru said, you don't need a timer for Shambavi (21 minute practice). Im practicing it for about 2 months daily now, and indeed my body knows when to go to the next part of the Kriya!
For me it is 2-sided. First I feel my energies becoming present, and then I begin to hear a high pitch sound vibrating, really every time I do the Kriya. It starts with Sukha Kriya, and it becomes more and more present doing the next steps.
I was just wondering if anyone here experiences about the same? I would love to see an explanation!

I was initiated into Shambavi Mahamudra in 2017 but several months later I had to stop practicing because of an accident, followed by a surgery.
Even though I still have some flexibility issues, I would like to start practicing again to the best that my body can handle.
Is there a document or some video to refresh my memory as to the exact list of steps to practice? It's been a long time since I attended the initiation and I'd like to do it as accurately as possible.

Hi, all. Forgive me if this has been asked before: I'm essentially curious about the difference between Dzogchen and Mahamudra. I suppose I'm asking the difference between Dzogchen lineages 'normative paths of practice vs. Mahamudra lineages' normative paths of practice, but I am also asking how they differ in their approach to recognizing and resting in the fundamental nature (or whatever English phrase is better; my speech is failing me today).
I will add share some of what I have heard over the years here mostly so that I can have some of these ideas debunked if they are wrong. I have always studied in Nyingma lineages and in Dzogchen traditions within Kagyu lineages. So I have little firsthand exposure to Mahamudra systems. I have sometimes seen the terms sutra mahamudra and essence mahamudra used, the latter often in connection with Tilopa's Ganges Mahamudra teachings. I have no sense of what the difference actually is.
When I have asked about the difference between Dzogchen and Mahamudra to some of my Kagyu teachers, they have mostly said things that were helpful in some sense but cryptic in another. Most have said that they are essentially the same. Multiple teachers have, in fact, pointed to their nose with one finger and then pointed to their nose with a finger from the other hand. One teacher said that Dzogchen was like jumping off one huge cliff, while Mahamudra was like jumping off 3 or 4 smaller cliffs. Another said that the Mahamudra approach incorporates more analytical meditations into its approach. Others have said that Mahamudra is a better approach for people who have more desire, while Dzogchen is better for people who have more anger.
Yet others have said something like the order of practices is different. In a normative Dzogchen approach, pointing out instructions are given to point out what is subtle but always present in experience and then bliss practices are taught to stabilize the recognition of that, whereas in Mahamudra traditions the bliss practices are trained in first in order to have easier recognition of the nature of mind and an ability to rest in that longer. I wonder if this relates to a difference in emphasis between "awareness-emptiness" and "bliss-emptiness".
FWIW, I have received pointing out instructions and have a clear sense of at least the normative path in my own main Nyingma lineage of tantric ngondro, three roots practices, khorde rushen, semdzins, trekchod, and thogal with adjunctive tantric
... keep reading on reddit โกHello, I am looking for someone with a kind heart that can teach me Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya via online or in-person if they live in the San Diego area. i don't have funds to pay for it with isha foundations and I requested volunteer work and they rejected it because they want me to pay for it

Hello, I was wondering if any of you are having trouble registering for this month's Shambhavi online? I completed my Inner Engineering a few months ago and have been trying to register for Shambhavi. But every time I do, I get a message saying I need to complete all 7 sessions of IE. But the thing is, I already have finished all of the sessions. Even my account homepage says so. So any help regarding this would be very appreciated.
I have tried contacting support, but I wanted to reach out to other places as well as the deadline this month is on July 10.
Have a great day!

I need to know if Iโm doing the Kriya correctly (especially the bandas) because itโs been awhile since Iโve been initiated
What do folks think of this work?
"On the level of Mahamudra, rituals are fully transcended. Saraha says practitioners of mahamudra no longer have to fiddle with mandalas and mantras; they have only to understand the nature of their own mind. Once we have understood that or had some experience of that, we no longer need to concern ourselves with the visualization of deities and that sort of thing."
Hey,
I'm looking for new moderators for /r/mahamudra. I am not a practitioner of Mahamudra, and also am very busy, so I don't really have time to spend on improving or revitalizing the subreddit.
If you're interested in becoming a moderator and/or taking over the sub, please PM me a very brief paragraph just outlining your experience with Mahamudra, your experience with reddit moderation, and what your plans would be for the subreddit.
Thanks!

Amitabha is the Buddha of Infinite Light, as the light radiating from his body pervades all the pure lands of all the Buddhas of the ten directions.
Amitabha presides over the western Buddha realm, the Pure Land of Great Bliss, known as Dewachen, Sukhavati. His pure land is the easiest in which to be reborn, and once reborn there beings have the optimum circumstances for accelerating on the path to liberation. Thus, Amitabha is considered the protector of beings who call upon him as they experience death. He is also central to the practice of Phowa (the transference of consciousness at the time of death).
Through Amitabha practice, our deluded self grasping and attachment are transmuted into the clear-sighted loving compassion. The egoโs selfish demands yield to our deepening commitment to othersโ well-being and enlightenment. Amitabha practice can also ward off obstacles to long life.
