A list of puns related to "Lugol's Iodine"
Has someone have tried Lugol's iodine. I have been reading a lot of good
Hi
I researched and discovered that iodine has many health benefits, including cognitive improvement and IQ.
Have you used iodine or lugol solution and what are your experiences? Can you please share it?
I ordered 2 bottles of lugol and will start tomorrow with 1 drop of %2 solution.
Thanks
Dosage
Basically I have taken a few times an entire drop (> 5.54 mg); mostly 1/4 of a drop at a time but still in rare occurrences.
I had no idea of the dosage until after reading the label on the bottle.
From the bottle I own (purchased in 2015):
https://easyupload.io/m/g9mjqa [two photographs]
Ingredients: Iodine, Potassium Iodide, Distilled water.
THIS PRODUCT MAY STAIN. In the case of spillage Vitamin C will often remove.
Do not use if you are pregnant, on medication, have thyroid/renal problems or allergies.
Not to be taken by children.
1 metric drop contains 2.2 mg of iodine and 3.3 mg of iodide.
Total amount of elemental iodine: 5.54 mg per drop.
Calculation is approximate: 1 drop is 1/20 of 1 ml.
Physicians wanting an exact measure should plan on a deviation of about \pm 2%.
This is different from the information contained in the updated label of this product as sold on eBay, as you can see from the pictures:
https://www.ebay.it/itm/110908943223
According to link, each drop has a total amount of 15 mg of elemental iodine per drop.
And you should take 1/30th of a drop for a total of 0.5 mg or 500 ΞΌg per day.
Effects
This refers to 1/4 of a drop.
No anxiety, greatly improved mental stamina, increased wakefulness & difficulty falling asleep, hypomania experienced once while running.
No side effects, but the usage has been very limited so far.
Question to the community
Is there a safe protocol for using iodine and what would you say if the actual dosage of the Logol solution I am using?
Iβm a 24 year old male whoβs 6β0 white and the medications I take are omneprazole for acid reflux and finasteride for hair loss.
Started taking 2-3 drops of lugolβs potassium iodine 2% each day in a water bottle for about a month now. I had read about how manufacturers switched from iodine to bromine the past few decades which isnβt good for us and has led to 95% of the global population being iodine deficient and having lower IQ and brain fog. Iβve suffered from brain fog and short term memory issues since birth but when I started taking Finasteride 3 years ago it got really bad and Iβve been trying to supplement to fix it.
I asked around and turned out two of my friends also take iodine, one takes 6 drops per day. He told me that the recommended daily iodine amount is drastically lower than what we should be taking. Iβve experienced positive effects including more mental clarity and my back acne has disappeared since I started to take it.
I wanted to up my dose to 4 drops per day but Iβve looked into it a bit more and Iβve seen some people complain that theyβve gotten hypothyroidism from taking it too much. Now Iβm sort of scared to continue and may take a break for a while.
Can I continue to take 2-3 drops of lugolβs iodine each day?
I take a couple drops a week on average. I heard a poster somewhere say that it's bad for you over time. Any thoughts?
Hello my mother is currently fighting er+/pr+ breast cancer. I have been reading into the use of topical iodine with dmso in a 50/50 ratio. I was wondering if anyone else here has used iodine for breast cancer and at what dose. Many of the dosages used are at very high amounts such as 300mg per day. This is a concerning dose but seems to be safe used in the short term. Anyone else have experience with this?
Give your experience please.
ITAP of onion skin, Lugol's iodine stain, at 1000X. I'm curious about the structures around the nucleus. Am I looking at endoplasmic reticulum?
I have a strong suspicion that lugol's iodine taken during a trip or a microdose might be able to potentiate the experience, anyone tried this?
I've got a 3 yr old male with a recently developed brown patch on his cere. Thread is in my post history.
I'm aware of the high likelihood of it being symptomatic of cancer and will take him to our avian vet but want to exclude the possibility of iodine deficiency first. He has been on a seed diet for his life, until December when I got him and started him up on pellets.
My question is: I'm finding dosing for Lugols that vary wildly across the internet.
I'd like to hear more opinions on this.
Also if there is a difference between the dose for acute symptoms (like my boy), and for maintenance/preventative measures (I also have a friend with budgies who would like to know dosing - her birds do not have cere symptoms).
Thanks in advance!
I kept coming across forums where people are talking about it helping with general brain fog. Second day of taking 5 drops of 2% 2x a day, and my brain fog is at like 50%. I can look around for more than 2 seconds without getting sucked into my own thoughts. I 100% believe it's linked to the iodine. Just make sure you take it with a selenium supplement.
Maybe an iodine deficiency is contributing? Idk
Maybe it's nothing, but what do you have to lose by trying?
I ordered some and im going to try it today
I wanted to start supplementing with iodine, but measuring it with a dropper makes me a bit nervous--I wanted to supplement with 2 drops daily , but it seems like some drops come out bigger than others, its hard to get an exact measurement. To get a more consistent dose, I think tablets would be easier-- is there any advantage to using the drops over just potassium iodide tablets?
Hello I am new to this community, but not so new to the Alternative Health sphere. I had a question about lugol's iodine. I have a pretty wide array of health issues. This is especially exacerbated by a reaction to a fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
I tried lugol's a few times throughout this 7 year process. At one point I had worked up to 12 drops of 2% I made it a few days on that. Otherwise I work up by doing drops on the skin until I work up to 12 or so, then start 1 drop in water and slowly work my way up with vit c and selenium.
Normally it increases my constipation so I have to stop. What was frustrating is the 12 drops at 2% I felt better than I had felt in my life, even pre- antibiotic reaction. I started to have a libido which I had never had, felt confidence a type of self assuredness that I had never felt in my life. It was normally at 0. My sleep and fatigue improved too. I don't mean to say it was the perfect thing and it had a grandiose reaction. It was more so just a fairly significant improvement for me personally.
My problem is that both times I stopped it I tanked it to worse hypothyroidism than I normally had. It was as if my thyroid had shut off. A few weeks after I stopped it both times, I had intense fatigue and very low mood-libido. Eventually it equalizes, but it has certainly scared me away from taking it again. Though I will say that my libido has never quite returned, even though it was never high to begin with.
It's super frustrating because I have tried similar with kelp/seaweed and can't seem to get any of the similar effects at varying types or dosages.
I'm hoping I didn't fuck up my thyroid further as I was careful to go incredibly slowly and take the related cofactors. I fear I might have at least pissed it off if nothing else. I'm curious to see if anyone else has a similar reaction.
I was pretty young when this all happened and was entirely operating solo for the first few years of my reaction, so I did the best that I could.
Hi :)
Has anyone used lugols iodine 12%?
What would be the best way to take this? Did you take anything alongside?
What has your experience been like with taking this supplement?
Thank you in advance :)
Hi guys! So I got the results of my bloowork. My iodine is super low, and my doc told me to get some Lugol so I went to the pharmacy and i got one. But there is no % written on the Lugol. 1,2gr iode (French) 2,4 gr iodure de potassium (French) In 60 ML purified water
Do u know which % I am taking and how many drops should I take ? Thanks so much guys and sorry for my english.
So I made a 5% solution. I know I can use borax with water, iodine and shampoo but Lugol's iodine itself? For a shampoo? Just added 1 drop to my shampoo portion on hand but maybe it's too strong, dunno. Any experience on that? I want to grow my hair faster and healthier
I ordered some Iodine off amazon but i'm not sure how to take it. On the bottle it say's "Tailsman only" and has no directions on how to take it. Is this safe to put some drops in a glass of water to drink or is it topical only?
Is anyone on this sub aware of Dr. Brownstein and his book "iodine-why you need it and why you can't live without it"? His information saved my life and cured my goiter and hypothyroidism. I now take 20-30 mg of iodine and have for the last 3 years. Anyone with thyroid disorders should research his book from your local library. My life has dramatically improved since supplementing iodine. No more sleeping 10 hours a day and still being tired. No more always being cold. No more dry eyes or skin. No more achey joints. No more forgetting things. No more social anxiety. For $25, Lugols iodine saved my life. Thank you.
Hi, I just bought some iodine after reading that majority of us are iodine deficient. I put 2 drops on my forearm and thereβs still a stain there hours later but has faded dramatically. What is the suggested ongoing dosage for an average healthy person? A couple of drops a day?
