A list of puns related to "License To Practice Law"
Just wonder whether I can practice law before I get admitted? The earliest interview is in January. Between now and then, what type of work am I allowed to do then? Thank you all so much!
With all the stories in the news lately about lawyers such as Giuliani and Powell submitting ridiculous lawsuits, I am wondering what it takes to get disbarred? Does some official or judge have to take some kind of action? Is there no organization with oversight that can decide these people should not be able to practice law? This is a serious question, not a political attack.
I have all my education and past work experience in the law on my resume and currently list all of these things on applications. I am guessing that Iβm not getting called because of βoveraualificationsβ, which one employer told me thatβs why they werenβt hiring me, but that doesnβt make sense to me. I wouldnβt waste my time applying and interviewing if I felt over the work. Should I remove all of that stuff from my resume? WhT do I put in that time period then? For entry retail or food service jobs, is it all that bad to exaggerate experience? I need a job 3 weeks ago and am not getting anywhere.
My Counselor wants me to try to get a job at a firm but my name is notorious right now and I donβt think anybody in the legal community would hire me. I wouldnβt even know how to begin that search.
Hey everyone. Lurk and sometimes post on Reddit. Iβve noticed, especially recently, how much people on this sub talk about the pharmacy market being saturated, people being unhappy with their careers, feeling stuck, etc. I felt the same way when I worked as a pharmacist and decided law school and the legal field were a better fit. I currently practice intellectual property law in a major market.
Iβm happy to answer questions anyone might have.

"Surge the health care workforce to support the vaccination effort. A diverse, community-based health care workforce is essential to an effective vaccination program. The United States will address workforce needs by taking steps to allow qualified professionals to administer vaccines and encourage states to leverage their flexibility fully to surge their workforce, including by expanding scope of practice laws and waiving licensing requirements as appropriate."
This is ostensibly under the guise of responding to COVID, but we all know how this ends up playing out in actuality. Once you give an inch, they take a mile, and you're never getting it back.

Excerpt from the hearing court cited within the COA opinion:
>>βIn this case, Respondent held himself out to be licensed to practice law in Maryland, by use of signs and letterhead that did not adequately advise prospective clients that he was not licensed to practice law in Maryland. [The inclusion of his Bar numbers] was insufficient to avoid giving the impression that he was licensed to practice in Maryland. The impression it gave was that respondent was admitted to practice law in Maryland and, in addition, in those other courts. It is a common practice to designate the other jurisdictions in which an attorney is licensed to practice in addition to the state where his/her principal offices are located. In addition, the business cards did not specify Respondentβs practice was limited to Federal Courts, nor did he advise clients that he was not licensed to practice law in Maryland.β
I understand that it affords someone who has a right to a fair trial protection against incompetent or fraudulent counsel. What I'm curious about is if a person and their representative are both very clear with each other and the court that the counsel is NOT a lawyer, could they still act as one?
I was thinking about lawyers and I got to thinking. If I got a law license in Oregon, would I be able to get certified in say Ireland? And are law licenses valid in other U.S states?
