A list of puns related to "Kaaba"
*Not that I want that to happen, but I am curious though
I am asking this question because my islamic teacher said that the kaaba is protected by some holy energy and can't be damaged lol
Me and my grandparents were immigrants living on the west coast side of Saudi Arabia. Ived lived there since I was 2 and they would take me to join them for umrah almost every week since we lived only an hour away from makkah. I hated it. At the time almost every toilet stalls had trash or shit in it. You can't even walk more than 5 metres without stepping on a date seed or human spit (you either gota be barefoot or wear socks). Don't even get me started on the crowd. I don't know how much things have changed now since its been more than a decade and I do not wish to go back.
It happened when we were doing the tawaf around the kaaba during a scorching hot day. It was really crowded and hard to walk. It also was hard for me to breath considering I was a little girl at the time and was surrounded by sweaty adults. During the 3rd round of the tawaf I felt a somewhat phallic object pushed to my back. I didn't really thought much about it and brushed it off thinking its just the tight crowd. But then I noticed that for the next rounds this person hasn't moved away at all.. Whether me and my grandma walked closer or further from the kaaba, he made sure he stuck his penis behind me the entire time. After being petrified for 15 mins, I turned around to make sure it wasn't just in my head and that man looked back at me with his blood shot eyes.
I didn't know what to tell my grandma. I was only a child and didn't understand the concept of 'sexual' harassment. In my head I just felt uncomfortable and bullied because this stranger didn't leave me alone. I pulled my grandma out to where it was less crowded so he couldn't follow me and no longer had a chance to stand too close. I finally got rid of him. I didn't tell my grandparents anything for the rest of the pilgrimage. Or until I was 23.
I asked to myself why didn't Allah protect me when I was right in front of his house? Few years later I was sexually harassed again but this time right outside of masjid al haram. I lost my family as thousands of people were walking back as the prayer just ended. A man followed me for a good 500m and tried to grope my chest when we were passing a tight alley. I quickly fought back and hit that fucker on the abdomen with my elbow. He walked away. I sorta wished a made a bigger scene as yall kno how Saudi roll with their capital punishment. Eventually I learned that even the holiest place on earth is forsaken by God.
Context : Recently the rector of an Istanbul university has been changed following decree from the president.
Because the rector was aligned with the republican socialist party in Turkey (CHP), protest from students and non students supporting the party has erupted in Istanbul, among them many Islamophobics are joining their ranks, which is not really surprising considering how much this party has always targeted Islam and muslims in the past.
And that not end there, they even started to target everybody that denounced this islamophobic act on social media by listing them.
This by no means Turks should answer this kind of heinous provocations, this is not something new, hardcore republican still dream of the past Turkey where an elite Islamophobic where governing and imposing their law, from time to time they do this kind of provocations again and in the futur they will do it too.
Lastly, a bit of history, this is also why Turkey was a third world country in pre-2000 years, cause in first place many people where denied educations in universities and college or not allowed to get their diplomas for having islam faith, here a famous video showing scarved girls not even allowed to participate to the graduation ceremony, one of them saying " I finished first in the rank and they don't allow me to participate to the graduation " and later with the director of the school saying " Never allow those three girls to the oath ceremony, let them crawl ! " before being applauded by the school direction.
Video Doesnβt it look and sound eerily familiar?
Hi everyone,
So lately, I have been doing some research on the Kaaba and I was wanting to know who built the Kaaba. After doing my research, I have come to find out that in Islam it is taught that Abraham and his son Ismail built the Kaaba. But how is that so, if Abraham and his son have never traveled to Mecca?
EDIT: Thank you all for your generous replies. I found something meaningful in each of your replies, even though I only replied directly to a couple of you. Such a mysterious object and it's purpose is quite profound. Even as an agnostic child, when I first saw images of pilgrims on Hajj, encircling the Kaaba, I was in total awe. Seeing so many people in such unity really grabbed me. I hope to be able to go on Hajj one day, inshallah.

Asalam alaykum. I'm still pretty new, still much to learn. I understand a bit of the significance of the Kaaba that Ibrahim built and Mohammaed (pbuh them both) purified, but not very much.
What is the meaning, from a Sufi perspective, of the Kaaba? It it simply symbolic that all Muslims face the same direction/location on earth, to be united in their worship of Allah? Or is there more to it. It's such a weird structure! A big black box, so mysterious. Does anyone go inside it these days or is that not allowed?
I think my real question here is: what focus/intention should one have when praying salah towards the Kaaba? I always feel a bit weird when I do it.
If I am not mistaken during time and before that the Prophet (PBUH) many nations/tribes in modern day Syria,Iraq and Yemen had their own Kaaba and the one we see now in Meeca is not from Saudi Arabia but stolen from Syria and another Kaaba was destroyed by orders from the Prophet (PBUH) and making Tawaf, going up and down mountains of Safa & Marwah, kissing the black stone and even animal ritual sacrifice are all forms of Pagan stuff from non-Islamic arabs who kept their traditions alive in Islam and that continues to dominate many parts of the world thanks to Hajj, Mecca and the Kaaba.
For me itβs a toss up between the halo theme and never gonna give you up.
