This is more or less just a thought that I made during a brainstorming session; but I think it would be really cool if we made a Jesus of Suburbia MAP. If you donβt know, MAP stands for a Multi Artist/Animator Project. Each person is assigned a part and the point of it is to collaborate with others to make a finished product with communication and cooperation being essential. I thought it would be badass if all of the artists here and other Green Day Fans and artists outside of the subreddit would be interested if I shared. You can do animatics, 2D or 3D animation, stop motion, any type of visual art media to make up a part. Not entirely sure anyone here would be interested in participating, but I thought it was ideal to share here. Just a thought!
Sorry if formatting is bad, Iβm on iPad. I donβt post much.
Song written by Green Day (although my personal fave is the cover by Aussie band Hellions)
The lyrics:
I'm the son of rage and love// The Jesus of Suburbia// The bible of βnone of the aboveβ// On a steady diet of// Soda Pop and Ritalin// No one ever died for my// Sins in hell// As far as I can tell// At least the ones that I got away with// And there's nothing wrong with me// This is how I'm supposed to be// In a land of make believe// That don't believe in me// Get my television fix// Sitting on my crucifix// The living room in my private womb// While the Moms and Brads are away// To fall in love and fall in debt// To alcohol and cigarettes// And Mary Jane// To keep me insane// Doing someone else's cocaine// And there's nothing wrong with me// This is how I'm supposed to be// In a land of make believe// That don't believe in me// At the center of the earth// In the parking lot// Of the 7-11 where I was taught// The motto was just a lie// It says home is where your heart is// But what a shame// Cause everyone's heart// Doesn't beat the same// It's beating out of time// City of the dead// At the end of another lost highway// Signs misleading to nowhere// City of the damned// Lost children with dirty faces today// No one really seems to care// I read the graffiti// In the bathroom stall// Like the holy scriptures of a shopping mall// And so it seemed to confess// It didn't say much// But it only confirmed that// The center of the earth// Is the end of the world// And I could really care less// City of the dead// At the end of another lost highway// Signs misleading to nowhere// City of the damned// Lost children with dirty faces today// No one really seems to care// I don't care if you don't// I don't care if you don't// I don't care if you don't care// I don't care// Everyone's so full of shit// Born and raised by hypocrites// Hearts recycled but never saved// From the cradle to the grave// We are the kids of war and peace// From Anaheim to the Middle East// We are the stories and disciples of// The Jesus of suburbia// Land of make believe// And it don't believe in me// Land of make believe// And I don't believe// And I don't care!// Dearly beloved are you listening?// I can't remember a word that you were saying// Are we demented or am I disturbed?// The space that's in between insane and insecure// Oh therapy, can you please fill the void?// Am I r******* or am I just overjoyed// Nobody's

This is where the album truly starts for me. Jesus of Suburbia is possibly the grandest song ever released by Green Day, and definitely a contender for the grandest rock song from the 2000βs. The riffs are all fantastic, and they have that signature American Idiot style of balance between simple, creative, and unbelievably catchy. This song is more than nine minutes long, and I can remember every single second of it consecutively. The lyrics are, of course, wonderful, as they have to be to introduce a character like Jesus of Suburbia. The drum solo in the first section adds another aspect of music to this song, and helps this song push towards the notion of being more than a rock song (of course, an opinion boosted by basically everything else in the song), and the second section starts immediately after. This section has some of the best lyrics in the entire song, and the piano makes it sound that much more grandeur and magical. This section transitions into the City of the Dead section, which is another unbelievable riff and lyrical display, as to be expected. The second run-through of the second section has some of the most memorable lyrics on the entire album. This whole alternation between the second section and City of the Dead (which I consider to be a subsection of the second one) is gold, and it displays just how amazing this song is. The third section is in a completely different time (6:4 instead of 4:4 time), and it definitely has its differences to the rest of the song. The lyrics here are extremely simple, but they still land and fit in with the overall atmosphere of Jesus of Suburbia. The βI donβt careβ chant is a perfect transition into the fourth section, which is very predominantly angsty lyrics made to decipher the mood of the subject of this song, but with a hearty amount of bass utilization thrown into the mix as well. I consider the Land of Make Believe section to be a subsection of the fourth one, just like City of the Dead was to the second, although this one is much more reminiscent of the third section than anything else. If anything, itβs a return to form from the third one, and it carries the same impact and mood to it. The song then quiets down for the fifth section, which is much more heartfelt than the rest of the song, mainly because of the toned-down instruments and the pure-hearted but still angsty lyrics and v

Iβm not sure whether the song is for me, or if I just listen to it when Iβm triggered. π
Is this real? Did I imagine it? Female singer with pretty generic hardcore electronic choruses. You know the type: big meaty bass kicks on a 4 to the floor pattern with the distorted synths.
So I absolutely love American Idiot and I've been listening to it non-stop after learning the story. However, I have one question - with Jesus of Suburbia and Saint Jimmy (who unless I'm mistaken, are the same person) does JoS rename himself Saint Jimmy or is it a Fight Club kind of thing where he thinks it's a different person but it's not?
Thanks!
Iβll play guitar. Last trophy for platinum. Help a brother out!

Doesnβt have to be just metal/progressive rock (although thatβs preferred), some other alternate examples are Jesus of Suburbia(already said), Knights of Cydonia by Muse, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Traveling at the Speed of Light by Joywave. Overall just long and epic/interesting songs.
So the part that goes
"To live and not to breathe is to die in tragedy"
"To run, to run away, to find what you believe"
The way it's sung:
DA DAA, DA DA DA DAAA
It sounds so familiar, I feel like I've heard it in another (noon Green Day) song..
Any ideas? It's killing me
