I really liked Hush and 10 Cloverfield Lane. They are solid low-budget films that have a combined 95% RT average and are some of the [highest hated horror films of this decade] (https://moviesfilmsandflix.com/2016/06/22/what-is-the-best-horror-film-of-the-2010s-so-far-an-in-depth-look-at-critical-and-audience-scores/). They feature really good performances from Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kate Siegel, and I appreciate how they aren't ultra stylized.
John Gallagher Jr. plays two totally different roles in the films and he is effective in both. I don't want to give anything away but his character in Hush is an incredibly effective villain. There are no bells and whistles. The dude just wants to kill. I am totally in support of Hush director [Mike Flanagan directing the Halloween reboot] (http://www.avclub.com/article/hushs-mike-flanagan-already-talks-new-halloween-237275). I'd rather have more original stories but I think if it has to happen Flanagan is a good pick.
Okay, before anyone says it I know I am possibly reaching but I have a train of thought as to why this might be the case even if there are some...inconsistencies. So let me break it down for you.
First, for anyone who doesn't know, Teddy Hanssen was a character in Cloverfield's first ARG who was presumably present on the Chaui Station the day of the "collapse." He was also supposedly a spy for T.I.D.O Wave and was believed to be "The Whistle Blower" behind a series of clues pointing to Tagruato being behind Clover in some way or another.
He also had several sites and ARG "routes" that led to him though he was presumed missing and was ultimately never found.
http://missingteddyhanssen.blogspot.com/ is the site made by his "sister" looking for him and also provides a poster of him which I am using for reference along with her description of him:
"Heβs about 5β10, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a birthmark on his face. He may be wearing glasses with black plastic rims."
Now enter John Gallagher Jr.'s Character:

The resemblance (In description anyway) is pretty spot on. Brown Hair, Brown or Hazel Eyes and John Gallagher Jr. is 5'9". No glasses but the description says "may". The one thing I cannot be sure about is the Birthmark. In the picture you can clearly see it looks like a faded star, but it does not seem to be present at the right place on our character, though it seems hard to tell due to his face being unshaven, which might be on purpose.
Now obviously these two people are not realistically the same person(That is to say the original picture for Teddy Hanssen was not John Gallagher Jr.) but given we do not yet have a time frame, it could very well be Teddy in the future with some age on him or very well their attempt to "replace" him with a different actor with a close resemblance.
Again, this is pure speculation, but I'm inclined to go here. I was a hard Teddy searcher in the first ARG and it bothers me to this day that he was never found. I realize I may be chasing shadows but it bothers me that the names for either John Gallgher Jr.'s or John Goodman's characters have not surfaced and I want to think there is a reason for it and this may be one of them.
Even if unlikely, keep this theory on the back-burner and don't be afraid to draw parallels while you're searching.
I rewatched 10 Cloverfield Lane earlier, and as I was watching it, I got thinking about the idea of John Gallagher Jr. as Hal Jordan. What do you guys think? He's young enough (32), I'd say he looks the part well enough, and from what I've seen from him in movies like Short Term 12 and 10CL, he's quite charismatic and funny: I'd love to see him banter with Ezra Miller's Flash. He doesn't have any big budget blockbuster experience though, and he's kind of short (5'9").
I know this isn't technically related to 10 Cloverfield Lane or the cloververse but I just finished watching this movie on Netflix and it was really great. I didn't even realize it was JG Jr. until I saw the credits! he was amazing, as well as the protagonist, Kate Siegel. it's set in one house in the woods and has a similar claustrophobic vibe to 10 Cloverfield Lane. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed 10CL for the intensity & thriller aspects of it.
here is the movie's synopsis: A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window.
According to his twitter, this album was pressed to vinyl and sold exclusively at his shows, but I can't find any trace of it online (it doesn't even have a Discogs page). Does anyone have a copy?
