A list of puns related to "Jack Reacher"
Reacher is a fictional character that travels the US by bus, or hitchhiking. He has no luggage, aside from a toothbrush and his passport (expired). He does have coats, jackets, or boots that he keeps, but he doesn't keep his clothes. Heck, he doesn't wash them much. He buys replacements from second hand shops or really cheap stores. Similarly, he doesn't cook, diners are his go to. And he stays in cheap hotels/motels. He takes freebies whenever he can, and pays for the rest on an Army pension that he took prior to the max age, and from funds he happens to find along the way.
He is just definitely a fictional character, but might his travels be possible? Uhh, aside from the always finding trouble, bedding women while looking like a troll, and never losing a fight, he fights and kills frequently; could the general travel be possible?
EDIT Thanks all for so many thoughtful replies. No bag seems more trouble than a day pack. Which might be doable for a long time.
My Dad is a massive lover of Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, he owns the entire collection and must've read each book 5 times over if not more. Luckily, I found him the subsequent 'Hunt for Reacher' and while not Lee Child's own material, it certainly scratched his Reacher itch.
Now he's fully up to date on every book, and can no longer do re-reads, the world might as well be ending!
Trying to find him an alternative series just isn't working, apart from some old novels by Mike Hammer (first one written in 1947) so I'm having a hard time :D
Does anyone have any possible alternative series I could introduce to him? We have a couple James Patterson & Josh Grisham novels but so far they're quite meh..

So my dad absolutely loves Jack Reacher and has read all the books (some multiple times). Iβve been meaning to get into them myself but havenβt quite found the time. Iβm looking to get him a Jack Reacher themed gift (Knick knack, key chain, custom t-shirt, etc.) that might have some reference (big or small) to the books. I normally design custom shirts with inside jokes for him every year so shirt ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Scenario: Whatever weapons they can find, Reacher is hunting Myers in Haddonfield during Halloween night*.*
I don't necessarily want something of the same genre, or like Jack Reacher in plot or anything. I just want a long series of page turners that I can always grab when I need them.
Whenever I hit a patch where I just don't feel like reading anything (usually every 3-4 books), I always go for a Jack Reacher book. They're straightforward, you know exactly what's going to happen (Jack Reacher will kill everyone even remotely associated with the bad guys and then hop on a bus out of town). It just always hits the spot for me. But, after several years of this, I appear to be out of Jack Reacher books.
When it was first announced you could hear my groan a thousand miles away but after watching the film I was pleasantly surprised. Sure he isnβt the size we all imagined Reacher was but his angst, coolness and downright gritty delivery made the stretch of imagination just a small leap. Watching the trailer of the βnewβ reacher really brought home what could be worse.
I know the movie and Tom Cruise gets a bad rap but I really enjoy it.
Just before the most absurd fight scene in film history, Jack backs up into the doorway of the bathroom when (I assume) he knows the buffoons are about to hit him in the head with a crowbar. Even assuming he knows that the doorway will take most of the hit, it still seems extremely risky and uncharacteristic. just curious if anyone has any thoughts?
Thanks...

Spoilers about Jack Reacher (2012)
So, I watched Jack Reacher yesterday (the first one, don't watch the second one), which was enjoyable and a pretty good movie. I wanted to talk about one scene in particular, or rather a set of scenes building up to an emotional moment. It's about the second time you sees the shooting, after Helen explains what she learnt about the victims.
I actually cried when that scene ended, and, looking back, I feel like it was masterfully crafted. And possibly destroyed in the next scene. So I wanted to lay it out in writing and maybe get a few opinions on the matter.
Let me recount the relevant events:
The opening feels like a classical start to action movies: the bad guy rolls up, does his thing with cold professionalism in a quiet, impersonal sequence. Here, we see the shooter look through his scope, and we wait for the tragedy to start. We hold our breath when he aims at a woman with a kid, like it's his target. Then he goes over several people, before he finally shoots several, seemingly at random. It happens at a distance, we get the loud sound of the shot, then a glimpse of the victim falling, then the next. Screams start after a moment, and again are far from our perspective. We see no blood.
The whole scene is focused on the shooter, making a point of showing exactly what he does and all of what he does. The victims are visible, but they are a secondary concern in the direction. Before re-watching it to write this, I thought I remembered no gun sounds and not seeing the victims falling. That could have been a change to make the whole thing even colder.
However, when we see the scene again, we just got all the victims' stories. Each one is a

Hey Reacher fans! So excited this trailer dropped today after seeing those first look photos. My buddy and I did a quick reaction video if anyone has time to check it out. We probably geek out a bit too much but just exciting that weβre so close to finally seeing the project done! Help us out with some views and comments as weβd love to discuss. Also if anyone else is a huge fan or content creator lmk as Iβd love to collaborate when the show comes out! Thank you!

In my opinion, Jack Reacher is truly back! After the baton handover from Lee Child to Andrew Child, The Sentinel was rather a disaster! Better Off Dead is more 'back on track'. Though some kinks are there but for a die-hard fan, they can be ignored.

Thank you!
Jack Reacher turns 61 today (born October 29, 1960) and Lee Child turns 67 (born in 1954). I like reading the books in chronological order as much as I do in the order of publication. I just wonder that everything from now on will likely be a prequel. Is anyone else mindful of the age of Reacher as you read?
My dad has been obsessed with Jack Reacher books for as long as I can remember, he loves listening to the audiobooks of them and really wanted more books like it. He loves the underdog getting justice type of story as well as action and crime solving. If you guys have anything similar I'd really appreciate it tysm!!
So lately I decided to watch the Jack Reacher movies. The first one is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. While it's not a classic, I thought it was really well directed by Christopher MacQuarrie and I thought Tom Cruise captured the essence of the character quite well. The score is decent. The action sequences are really well filmed and edited. I'd go as far as to say that the car chase sequence is one of the better ones I've seen over the last few years and reminded me a lot of the car chase sequence in the Bourne Identity.
Today I watched the sequel directed by Edward Zwick. I really love the Last Samurai so I had moderate hopes that this movie would be at least on par with the first one. This movie is horrible. The direction is poor. The editing is frustratingly choppy even during non action sequences. The action sequences are lacklustre and boring. The score is generic at best and b-grade at worst. The story is forgettable. What the hell happened here? It felt almost like Tom Cruise was only in this to fulfill some contractual obligation. He looked bored throughout this movie. I think this might be one of the worst sequels to a movie I've seen in a long time.
