A list of puns related to "Jacinto"
Thinking of moving to & establishing new roots in San Jacinto. Any thoughts or anything I should know of?
I really appreciate the farmlands & mountains & the homes are still relative affordable kinda. Thanks in advance
I saw the UTPD notification saying to stay clear of the region. What happened?

Texas Revolution Rounds
Nothing but Scholtz and parking garages now. What used to be around that area before all the parking? Must have been something for a successful German restaurant to exist.
Anyone know of any historic photos? Havenβt found much googling.
Happy thanksgiving!

Long read- be advised.
Every time I drive to Palm Springs, I can't help but stare at the beautiful and imposing north face of San Jacinto. It's a familiar sight, but not one that many have seen up close. I've hiked to the peak numerous times from different directions, and I had to climb the north face at least once.
From my research, the last and only detailed report I could find was written in 2010- Here. All other reports focus on spring climbs, which are significantly easier as they avoid almost all of the bouldering completely. Nearly the entire traverse in Snow Creek proper is a packed snow incline during the right part of the year.
As with the gentleman in the 2010 report- I'm not a mountaineer and as such a snow-free hike appealed to me, even after being advised of its difficulty. Checking the weather on Friday, I saw that we were due for the season's first snowfall on Monday. I knew I had to hike Snow Creek that weekend.

THE HIKE
Arriving around 1 AM, I parked about 1/3 down Snow Creek road, off the 111 by a large dry creekbed on the left side. The easiest route would begin in the town of Snow Creek proper, but doing so would involve trespassing on the Water Authority's land at the base of the mountain- so my route involved cutting through the desert and ascending a spur left of the peak. I used the GPX file attached to the aforementioned trip report to prevent my straying too far from a known passable route and to avoid said DWA land in the early parts of the hike.
Initially, I followed the streambed for maybe a half mile before it began to curve away from the spur I meant to climb. I ended up taking a more direct route across the desert, which was fairly pleasant until I began climbing. The incline down low is mostly extremely steep packed dirt, making much of the ascent a tedious scramble.
At around 360
