So I live in Italy and I was wondering which communist party here was worth joining. I know of only the main three:
Partito di Rifondazione comunista,
Partito Comunista,
And PCI
It seems to me like rifondazione is the most active out of the three but I want to know what other people think them, is one more radical than the other?

Italian Socialist Republic Party (1945) - an alliance between fascists and communists
The Italian Socialist Republican Party (originally Socialist Republican National Group) was one of the associations of the Italian Social Republic. The party was born in February 1945 with the intention of "building a bridge" between the fascists and anti-fascists on the basis of the thesis of the socialization of the economy. The leaders were philosopher Edmondo Cione and former revolutionary syndicalist Pulvio Zocchi.
The news of the birth of the group aroused concern in Berlin, where there was fear of a possible “leftist” turn of fascism.
Other leaders include Germinale Concordia, Corrado Bonfantini, Gabriele Vigorelli.
The creation of another party meant that Fascist Italy finally legalized multi-party system in Social Republic era.

How can the political weakness of the British Communist Party relative to its French and Italian counterparts can be explained in the context of the 20th century ?
I know that Communist Parties flourished in Europe after WWII, and some where even quite prevalent before WWII (like the French communist party).
Yet, I’d never heard of the British Communist Party before today and was questioning why it was such a fringe party.
Can it be explained only by the First past the post electoral system that doesn’t allow for much political renewal ?
