A list of puns related to "Indiana Territory"
The act of Congress says that it includes all land...
> east of a line drawn from the southerly bend through the middle of [Lake Michigan] to its northern extremity, and thence due north to the northern boundary of the United States.
Why include the land on the other side of the large lake rather than using the lakes as the border?
The Toledo War occurred in 1835, thirty years after the event I'm asking about.
It totally works. ISIS makes a great stand-in for Nazis; they're evil, they want all these historical artifacts, no one is going to be particularly upset when Indy shoots them. Plus there's all kinds of cool ancient ruins and such in the middle east. And somewhere there are the artifacts that Khaled Al-Asaad hid, just waiting to be put in whichever museum Indy works for.
Hello all.
I've been researching one of my ancestors, and have read a reference to the "Indiana Frontier Guard" during the 1812 time frame.
Google has failed me in my online search for any such organizations. Are there any Hoosiers lurking about that might have advice on where I could find more information?
Thanks!

After recent talks with the Mackinac Federation, Chicago made another purchase in the Wisconsinite and Indianan regions. Townships in the region were incorporated without struggle or error to the record of the diplomats sent.

Its that most wonderful time of the year again- the final rush of games in the college football season. One thing Iβve always loved about the bowl season is how it plays out like a really, really long fight card, with the undercard bouts kicking us off, rising up to bigger and bigger things and culminating in a blockbuster main event. Anyways, this is my personal decision on ranking the bowls based on impact, the caliber of teams, and the overall watchability and enjoyability that I think the game will have. Obviously Iβm going to be 100% wrong on this, but I hope you enjoy anyways.
#42- MYRTLE BEACH BOWL (12/20 2:30, ESPN)
OLD DOMINION Monarchs (6-6) vs TULSA Golden Hurricane (6-6)
The selling point of this bowl is that both teams are coming in kind of hot- ODU won its last 5 after a 1-6 start, and Tulsa has won three in a row, including a season ending upset of SMU to allow the Hurricane to squeak in the bowls in the first place. The issue is ODUβs winning streak becomes a LOT less impressive once you see who they faced during it, and while its nice to see the Monarchs not give up and push through to the postseason, the fact is theyβre likely the weakest team in this yearβs postseason, and a definite underdog to Tulsa.
#41- NEW MEXICO BOWL (12/18, 2:15, ESPN)
UTEP Miners (7-5) vs FRESNO STATE Bulldogs (9-3)
Fresno State absolutely deserved better than this game, which is easily the most disrespectful pair-down of the season. UTEP has come a long way in just a couple of years from when they were the bottom-feeder in all of FBS, but theyβre still a 7-5 team who got exposed after a downy-soft start to their schedule. If this is anywhere near close, its because Fresno lacked motivation.
#40- BAHAMAS BOWL
BOWL (12/17, Noon, ESPN)
MIDDLE TENNESSEE Blue Raiders (6-6) vs TOLEDO Rockets (7-5)
Toledo was just another MAC team in a year where the conference lacked any true standouts, but were so close to being something special, with four of their five losses coming by three points or less, including one to Notre Dame. MTSU on the other hand, was a team that never really stood out, other than a slight upset over Marshall, and just kind of got to six wins. Not exactly the biggest bang to kick off bowl season, but the weather should be nice.
#39- LENDINGTREE BOWL (12/18, 5:45, ESPN)
EASTERN MICHIGAN Eagles (7-5) vs LIBERTY Flames (7-5)
Hard to believe the Flames were 5-1 at one point, but came crash

Draft picks provide a lot of flexibility while avoiding the hassle of matching contracts, so their use in sweetening deals or trading up in the draft will undoubtedly come into play as the Thunder keep on loading their roster with more first round picks. Some of their picks are still really raw so far, but with the pipeline primed, it doesn't even matter. They can jettison young prospects who do not pan out for young prospects with higher draft capital every draft.
Also, shout outs to the Clippers for the Paul George trade and to the Rockets for the Chris Paul trade.
Guide: Bold - 90%+ conveying | Italics - Might convey | No format - Probably rolls over to next year | Strikethrough - Probably already conveyed
For 2022, the Thunder will likely have three first round picks.
Given how the season's going so far, the Clippers will keep fighting for playoffs while waiting for PG13 and Kawhi to return because it's not like they have a pick to tank for. Also, the Suns are rolling, so their pick will also definitely convey. Detroit's pick is super unlikely to convey in 2022. OKC sent out their own lotto-protected pick, but they'll be incentivized to miss playoffs to make sure they keep that 1st.
In 2023, the Thunder have potentially five firsts.
Since Denver will still have Jokic and Miami will still be paying their Butler/Lowry/Bam/Robinson/Tucker/Herro core, I'm fairly confident those two will convey, but wo knows. Even if they don't, they'll convey at some point since they're both lotto protected for another two years and those are competitive teams. Then, there's the Wiz pick, which is a toss-up. After a hot start to the season, the Wizards are treadi

Hello. This is the fourth week of my imperialism map. Itβs technically semi-imperialism because it isnβt a true imperialism map because the winning team doesnβt take all of the territory from the losing team, just some of it.
If you donβt know how this works, hereβs an explanation: Each team starts out with the counties closer to their arena than any other teamβs. If a team beats another team, the winning team annexes a portion of the losing teamβs territory. The formula for how many counties are taken is as follows: (MOV/Losing teamβs points)*losing teamβs counties.
A result of the formula is that it is very hard for a team to disappear completely from the map. I think this is fine because it will leave teams in the game for longer, which is more fun.
To make the map look prettier, Iβve added a few gimmicks to my algorithm here. For pieces of territory that are only 1 county, I simply just give that one county to a surrounding team. If there is a piece of territory that only has 2 contiguous counties, I sort of trade with neighboring teams to get rid of that small territory. If any of the map changes seem a little off, thatβs possibly why. The exception to this little gimmick is Orange County because it actually matters and GSW fans would be angry if they lost it lol.
I think this week is the first one where the number of counties decently correlates with how well a team is playing.
Let me know if you have any feedback, Iβm pretty new to this!
Table for number of counties (numbers arenβt completely accurate):
Team | # of Counties |
---|---|
Denver | 222 |
Utah | 207 |
Golden State | 206 |
Washington | 199 |
Atlanta | 186 |
LAC | 157 |
Indiana | 152 |
Chicago | 143 |
Cleveland | 122 |
Charlotte | 118 |
Boston | 118 |
Minnesota | 113 |
Miami | 113 |
Phoenix | 112 |
Brooklyn | 106 |
Philadelphia | 106 |
Dallas | 91 |
Memphis | 83 |
Toronto | 83 |
Portland | 73 |
San Antonio | 71 |
Sacramento | 68 |
New York | 65 |
Oklahoma City | 55 |
Milwaukee | 53 |
Orlando | 35 |
New Orleans | 29 |
LAL | 19 |
Houston | 15 |
Detroit | 13β |
If these numbers look kinda fishy compared to last week, itβs because I recounted the counties this week to get a more accurate number. Because of this, Atlanta has had an advantage the last few weeks, so they should have less counties. Iβm leaving it though.
Thanks!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Despite his differences over the issue of prohibition with former Farmer-Labor nominee William Jennings Bryan, Hearst considered an appeasement of the still-powerful force in the party to be a necessity for party unity, and focused on their agreement in opposition to the British Empire to appoint Bryan as Secretary of State. The Pettigrew wing of the party was denied appeasement whatsoever, with Hearst viewing Eugene Debs and others as undermining his own candidacy, while the rest of the cabinet was made of Hearst allies. 46 year old Massachusetts businessman Thomas L. Hisgen was selected for the Treasury Department, with Tennessee Judge John Shields chosen for the Attorney Generalship. The fiercest Senate battle would arise over the nomination of John Temple Graves, a pro-lynching editor from Georgia, for the position of Secretary of War. With the Senate's two black members, George Henry White of North Carolina and John R. Lynch of Mississippi, leading the opposition to Graves. Nonetheless, the appointment was narrowly confirmed with the intervention of Vice President Garner on the behalf of Graves.
William Gibbs McAdoo, an ally of Hearst closely tied to Georgia Federal Republican leader Woodrow Wilson, was chosen as Secretary of the Navy in the closest Hearst came to appointing a member of the other party. James A. Reed, the independent Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri who endorsed Hearst, was chosen as Postmaster General. Alabama's controversial Governor Milford W. 1836 Democratic-Republican Convention:
After Webster's victory in the election of 1832 and subsequent victory in the Civil War, the Democratic-Republicans do not see much chance to beat him in 1836, with party leaders like Martin Van Buren, James Buchanan, Levi Woodbury, Roger B. Taney, and George M. Dallas not wanting to run in a seemingly doomed year.
Even worse, the Emancipation Act of 1835, which required territories to gradually emancipate slaves over the next 10 years, bitterly divided the Democratic-Republican Party between the pro-slavery Hunker faction and anti-slavery Liberty faction.
Mahlon Dickerson: Knowing that this is probably the only time he has a chance to win the presidency, 66 year old Senator from New Jersey Mahlon Dickerson is the only real party leader running for the presidency. Initially a Bucktail aligned with William H. Crawford, Dickerson joined the Democratic-Republicans when the Bucktails collapsed. Dickerson advanced through the party's ranks quickly, using his already established base of power to become the leading New Jersey Democratic-Republican. When the Civil War started, Senator Dickerson strongly opposed the Confederacy, even drafting the force bill, which gave the president permission to move against the seceding states. After that, he was appointed Jackson's Secretary of State in 1831.
After returning to the Senate, Dickerson supported the Emancipation Act of 1835 and opposed the spread of slavery. However, in his presidential run, he has decided to focus on issues that unite the party instead of divide it, such as support for low tariffs, opposition to a National Bank, and expansionism. Dickerson supported Indian Removal when the act was first passed in 1826, but hasn't spoken on it since.
Dickerson supports the 30% Plan for Reconstruction, which would require 30% of the population of seceded states and territories to swear an Ironclad Oath in support of the Union to be accepted back in the Union; the Confederate high command, Congress, and high and mid-level military commanders would be imprisoned, while most Confederates would be pardoned. Dickerson's supporters emphasize his experience.

- After election, the first thing President Daniel Webster had to decide on was his cabinet. Realizing that he needed a stable and experienced cabinet to handle a Civil War, he reached out to members of John Q. Adams' old administration William Wirt and Samuel L. William Wirt refused, citing his health (and he would die from a bacterial infection in 1834), but Southard accepted.

Why was this tweeted from Gamestop's account and not Ryan Cohen's?
Honestly, I have no clue as it brings more questions than answers. Since it's ambiguous, I'd like to put my own definition to it. Here's what I think it means:
GMErica is a place that provides equal opportunities for everyone to succeed.

Happy New Year! What is your New Year's Resolution?
Personally, I have never had one. But, I have seen people go through the whole gamut of them, such as attempting to bid farewell to drinking, smoking, losing weight, and so on. All of the aforementioned are very challenging to endure and undertake! But, if any of you have decided on those, or anything else, for that matter...I wish you all the best in success! As for me, I guess I will just make my resolution to keep helping to "Rockin' The Classics" for another year!

A kickass Led Zeppelin song! But, in the grand scheme of things, not always gonna be the best for "certain" Cores on the Mini Classics! The Graphics Libraries are pushing in a direction for quite a few Cores, with which they are simply not easily supported on the Mini Classics. MD/SNES/NES can only handle the 2.0 OpenGL range; PSC 3.0. As a result, certain Cores, such as Flycast/Mupen Xtreme, and so on...are becoming increasingly less compatible for us. In order to "make" them work, things would have to be potentially broken til the point of it being best just using the current posted versions! More on this, as the Release Notes unfold!

I used to be a fan of binge watching shows, as far back as even the earliest days of the internet! But, back then, it was much more difficult to be able to do this! I would typically trade with collectors. I would have some rare stuff recorded from VHS, and vice versa! I amassed quite a few things this way, that simply were simply not easily foreseen as any official future Releases! Not to mention, many times, when things do go through official channels...the licensed music "be gone"! I was actually surprised to find Metallica in episodes of Supernatural on Netfli

Summary of Daniel Webster's First Term
In the chaotic elections of 1828, the old party system died, and a new one took its place. The Bucktails, formerly the party of Aaron Burr, died and the Federalists, the party of the second and third presidents of the United States, collapsed, leading to the formation of the Whig Party. The Whig Party was able to cater to a much broader range of people compared to the Federalists, including the now non-existent Anti-Masonic Party. Their first big victory came in 1832, when Whig candidate Daniel Webster won the presidency. Webster had to deal with a Civil War, which he managed to win.
Webster was renominated unanimously in the Whig Convention of 1836, but, Vice President John J. Crittenden has refused to be renominated. While he hasn't stated a reason for this decision, many think that he wants to be appointed to the Supreme Court during Webster's second term. This leaves the position of Vice President up for grabs for whoever can get the most support.
William Hendricks: Former Governor of the Indiana Territory and current Senator from Indiana William Hendricks originally aligned himself with the eastern half of the territory seeking to outlaw slavery. This earned him the ire of first Governor of the Indiana Territory and former Secretary of War William Henry Harrison, who was a supporter of the pro-slavery western half. Through the efforts of Hendricks, alongside Jonathan Jennings and Dennis Pennington , the eastern half prevailed, and slavery was outlawed. As the last territorial governor, Hendricks focused on repairing the territory's economy, as well as internal improvements. As Senator, Hendricks has supported most of Webster's policies, including the Emancipation Act of 1835, the suspension of Habeas Corpus, and Webster's raising of tariffs.
Senator from Indiana William Hendricks
Robert P. Letcher: Former Vice President John J. Crittenden was mostly chosen by Webster's rival for control over the party, Henry Clay. Clay has decided to try to try to get another one of his close allies to that same position. This time, it is Robert P. Letcher. Letcher has been serving as Representative from Kentucky since 1823, a position in which he supported the Federalist and th
