A list of puns related to "In The Court Of The Crimson King"
Looking for an album that will be my obsession about King Crimson's beautiful In the Court of the Crimson King.
I have wrote an Fanfiction about the anime Yona Of The Dawn, I would love if I could get some feedback.

I saw the photo a few years ago in an old thread. The face was probably made out of some kind of meat and placed in a small white container/bowl IIRC.
I like rock, and I really want to like this album as it has some well-written/played parts, but by having every song be a minute of decent to good music, surrounded by 7 minutes of nonsense instrumental riffing causes it to just sound like an album that thinks it's above the rest.
Asking as someone who absolutely loves The Beatles and Pink Floyd
50th anniversary. Time to nerd out:
30th Anniversary CD: What I grew up with.
Original Master: Packaging is nearly exactly the same as the 30th anniversary disc. Sound is a touch more defined. The sax sounds a little better in places. The bass sounds more pronounced. My favorite version.
Steven Wilson remix: It follows the original mix pretty closely. The only places I notice the difference are the big mellotron crescendo in Epitaph and the drums in Moonchild. Truth is, if I didn't know he'd edited 3 minutes out of the Moonchild jam I wouldn't have noticed.
And now for your morning stretch:
The lyrics to King Crimson's The Court of the Crimson King tell a story that reminds me a little too much of asoiaf. While I'm sure it's only a coincidence, wouldn't it be cool if GRRM took some inspiration from them? Check the lyrics out here: https://genius.com/King-crimson-the-court-of-the-crimson-king-lyrics
Let's break it down:
> The rusted chains of prison moons > > Are shattered by the sun
The legend of the birth of dragons anyone? And similar to the Azor Ahai story in general
> I walk a road, horizons change > > The tournament's begun
Lot's of important tournaments in the series, from the one featuring the knight of the laughing tree to Dany's wedding or Robert's last tournament
> The purple piper plays his tune > > The choir softly sing > > Three lullabies in an ancient tongue > > For the court of the crimson king, aah
This makes me think of Varys or Littlefinger, or even Illyrio as the Purple Piper, with the 3 lullabies representing the events that led to Robert or even Viserys' death
The Court of the Crimson King itself immediately brings to mind Aegon and the Red Keep of course
> The keeper of the city keys > > Put shutters on the dreams
I think the equivalent to the keeper of the city keys will be someone who uses either weirwoods or glass candles to mess with peoples' dreams personally.
> I wait outside the pilgrim's door > > With insufficient schemes
Tyrion? Ned? Varys? The pilgrim being the Stranger or something?
> The black queen chants the funeral march > > The cracked brass bells will ring > > To summon back the fire witch
This verse is the biggest for me. The black queen being Cersei, the bells tolling coming directly from the show and Dany being the fire witch herself.
> The gardener plants an evergreen > > Whilst trampling on a flower
A pretty vague line in general. Taken literally, it could have to do with the Tyrells and the Tarlys? Perhaps in this case the gardener is someone sacrificing their relationship with the Tyells for the Tarlys for example.
> I chase the wind of a prism ship > > To taste the sweet and sour
Victarion fits of course although my immediate thought was Dany taking the Iron Fleet back to Westeros. There's also Aurane Waters or Davos to think about here
> The pattern juggler lifts his hand > > The orchestra begin > > As slowly turns the grind
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi , everybody. As most of you have heard, on "The Court of the Crimson King", Ian McDonald played a calliope during "The Dance of the Puppets" (the ending section). Do any of you know which model of calliope Ian used or (more importantly) how it was recorded? (The calliope is known for being a very loud instrument.) Any concrete evidence or information helps. Thanks!
Also is there any albums I should skip or live albums worth listening to?
Have a nice day.
(also Epitaph to an extent)
