A list of puns related to "Iki Island"
Damn, I didn't realize how brutal and violent Kazumasa actually was during his days as the Butcher of Iki. No wonder that he and Shimura often argued about the samurai methods: Kazumasa had one hell of a reputation.
The way I see it, Kazumasa and Shimura are on different ends of the spectrum:
Shimura being the representation of the rigidity of the samurai code and loyalty to the shogun, all to save face and lead by an "honorable" example with the hope of maintaining peace within Tsushima, given its past history. The problem is, it creates unnecessary and unwanted casualties all because we want to make "proper" examples. This is what led to Ryuzo's betrayal and Yarikawa's distrust towards the samurai.
...While Kazumasa deviates from this and creatively uses fear and terror to effectively get the job done in Iki and try and uphold order. Although this is an effective method, it antagonized the samurai in the Raiders' perspective, so "peace" was never really established, only more and more bloodshed. The Yarikawa Rebellion is no exception.
Which is why I like Jin as a character. He learned from both Shimura and Kazumasa's ordeals and traits while upholding his own sense of honor: Protecting the people. No loyalty to a master, no reliance on terror towards the people to send a statement. One of the unsung heroes of Jin's character development has to be his mother. She taught him kindness and compassion first before he was sent to the frontlines by his father and uncle. Her influence is most likely what made Jin define his own concept of honor, and that very concept of honor was what the island needed.
In the end, not only did Jin defeat the Mongols and save his home, he won the hearts of the people of Tsushima and taught them to rely on themselves. (Although the poison thing, that's kind of a double-edged sword.)
In one of the last masako tales, lady masako mentions how lord shimura took the head of Kazumasa Sakaiβs killer, but Jin meets the actual killer in the iki island dlc, and tenzo is very much connected to his shoulders. Another hint is that tenzo mentions that he found his friendβs head a week after the samurai left iki
I seriously thought they killed off my horse, I was ready to cry.π« Maybe itβs because they gave us the option to choose his name that I have attachment issues lol please tell me he never dies further in the game storyβ¦
What horse & name did you choose? I picked the black one and named him Nobu.
I adore this game, as you can probably tell from my past posts about it.
However
The archery challenges in this game are the first thing to actually get my blood boiling. Am I doing this wrong??
I'm firing 1 and then immediately activating concentration, I have I'm not even drawing my bow fully for half of them, and I'm still failing.
It feels like the difficulty level has just MASSIVELY jumped for one challenge, but why??
Is it free if you have the game and finished act 1? or do you have to pay to get it in ps store
I'm still playing the main story, and all the secondary quests, and I think this game is simply amazing. But, after I finish it, should I really buy the DLC? Is it worth it?

This is a tutorial on how to fight the Iki Island brutes using just swordplay without techniques, ultimates, ranged and Ghost weapons. Just want to give a shout out to Cyrandon whom inspired me to do this. Please read the descriptions of each of the videos as there is a lot to discuss about this type of enemy. Adopt a reactive playstyle and don't attack this enemy mindlessly as he will parry or sidestep your attacks and follow up with a counter. When he attacks, I don't recommend rolling as his unblockable attacks will track you down like homing missiles or like he is on ice skates and slide towards you. He has a feint where he steps forward to fake an attack and when you bite on the bait and decide to roll or sidestep too soon, he will knock you down. Additionally, he will twirl his glaive and walk in your direction and when you see this, don't challenge him and space yourself by moving backwards or away from him. Lastly, he has another attack where he twirls his glaive indicating he is about to lunge twice at you so once again, don't challenge him and perfect dodge his first lunge and immediately perfect counter him or if you get a late dodge then prepare to dodge his second lunge and follow up with your own attacks. In conclusion, do not attack him mindlessly and approach him with a reactive play style by making him miss his attacks and punish him for missing.
So Iki Island came as part of the narrative in the edition Iβm currently playing and I seem to have made the mistake of taking it on just shortly after I began Act II. Iβve got the precious resources for an armor upgrade and I canβt decide which set to use it on .. the Sakai or the Sarugami? Iβm far enough along where I donβt have to disguise my clan armor anymore so my question is which set is best for combat on this island?
Apologies to the other user recently posting a thread about the Eagle. Yes it was a difficult fight.
Anyway, my point is, after fighting and defeating the Eagle, I did some cleanup with the Iki Island Records and she genuinely seems to believe that she's helping people.
I love this layering of the villains in this game, Khotun Khan wasn't just a generic 'I am evil' villain, he was smart, charismatic.
Similarly, the Eagle genuinely believes she's doing the right thing, that her poison is helping people to heal and face their pain. At least, that's what I gathered from her notes.
So I got the game like 1 or 2 weeks ago and I just started the 2nd act in Toyotama. I unlocked the travel to Iki island but I'm not sure if I should do it yet
I recently bought the directors cut from the PlayStation store as it was on sale and Iβve finished the main story but iki island is nowhere to be seen and thereβs an evolving technique tree thatβs locked , I restored my licenses but nothings changed is this normal ?
Hello, I'm new to this game, I just finished part one and I've travelled to Iki island while playing directors cut version. Didn't knew I couldn't go back (fast travel) to mainland so I guess I'm stuck here till I finish the main missions? As I'm not well equipped (charms, armors, etc) and the difficulty level in this island is higher, do you have any recommendations?
Itβs so great. Reminds me of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Playing the ocarina was the coolest damn thing. Hope we can play more instruments that way in the sequel. Also 85/ cute af what the hell
To my understanding Iki island becomes available at Act 2, should I start when it asap or do you guys recommend doing it after a certain point.
Is the iki island dlc worth it. I just got the platinum in ghost of tsushima and it was certainely a good journey. I don't want spoilers. I just want to know how many hours is the dlc in total.
5 minutes in to the new story, lightning struck the boat, Kage was flailing helplessly in the water and I'm like SERIOUSLY?! If they murder my horse again I'm going to need therapy.
If you want a really strong gear combo equip the sarugami outfit and use the charms mizu-no-kami, mashira's protection, inari's might and perfect landing. The last two charm slots can be whatever you want.
