A list of puns related to "House Of Tudor"
My friend said to me the other day, european countries are socialist because old ruling houses use to give back to their communities to maintain their place in history, make their name last. As an example he named the Tudors as a house who gave back "a lot of money" to the people in the ways of "churches, cathedrals and what not". I read through the wiki and just wanted to check and see if this sub had any more information on that particularly.

... keep reading on reddit โกHi all. Iโve seen a thread on WuS from 2016 I believe saying that in-house movements were being replaced rather than serviced. Iโm thinking of buying a BB58 but do not want to do so until Iโm certain that this is not the case because replacing the movement is costing people ยฃ1000.
Some people suggest that Tudor are only doing this either: 1) to diagnose problems with the new movement or 2) because the staff at the service centres are yet to be trained. I know that the warranty is 5 years but Iโm thinking in the long term in 10 years when I will have it serviced I donโt want to have it costing ยฃ1000 which is 1/3 of the cost of the watch.
I wondered if anyone had any updates on this please?
Which one of these brandโs in-house movements can take the best beating in your experience?
Iโm adamant about having a one watch collection and never plan on taking it off so I need a watch that can handle some sh*t.
Tudor makes the new superocean heritage II movement but itโs possible I go with the first gen with Breitling guts.
Almost done this little house inspired by the Black Magic Craft Youtube channel. 3D printed window inserts, hand textured balsa wood shingle roof, and stucco walls made using Durhams water putty. My first attempt at a building, I am very proud of it :)
I will add a 3D printed deer skull and antlers over the door, and some moss once the wash has had a night to fully dry.

The Wikipedia article on Little Moreton Hall says that "The familiar black-and-white colour scheme is a fashion introduced by the Victorians; originally the oak beams would have been untreated and left to age naturally to a silver colour, and the rendered infill painted ochre," citing a book called A Visitor's Companion to Tudor England by Suzannah Lipscomb.
Is this true of Little Moreton Hall? Is this true generally of half-timbered Tudor era houses? Would Mock Tudor houses today be (in a way) more authentic if their beams were aged to gray and the white infill was painted ochre?
And are there any pictures of this ochre/gray combination in a half-timbered house? I can't find any on a quick search.
