Wazzzzzzup r/phish! Twix night one of the Hersheypark run, and I've been looking forward to this a choco-lot. There's a million Reese's why this show is gonna be filled with Almond Joy, so have a break from reality, Rolo a doobie, and Hershey Kiss your ass goodbye. It's u/Girtz_ checking in from Montauk, New York.
If you are one of the lucky people in attendance, let me know! Was going to try and make these shows work but couldn't. Will be at AC this Saturday and Sunday, and then Dicks!

Back for night 2! Don't have as many Hershey puns as I did last night, but I already know tonight is gonna be Mounds of fun. Anyway, stoked to see the Phish from Vermont in the flesh this weekend, and super excited for my last night of couch tour! I'll try not to use as many acronyms tonight as I did last night, only the obvious ones. Nice,
As usual, stream will be $25 from LivePhish. Let's try and keep anything illegal to the PM's. And be warned, if you ask for a link, you will most definitely be downvoted to oblivion.

We've been trying to get out to Hershey for a park trip, as the last time I was there was back in 2015, and still needed Laff Track and Candymonium credits. We pulled the trigger last min which probably cost us way more unfortunately, but I'm glad we waited as Storm Runner and Skyrush were both operating.
We drove down Friday and my partner headed to the spa for chocolate themed massage things (which she said was fantastic if anyone has ever been curious about their spa) while I lined up for the park. Lines were WELL past Chocolate World to get into the park, and they had only a few lanes open for ticketing. One small thing - you walked through these scanners that resembled high tech metal detectors, and I overhead security telling other employees it's new AI that scans pocket shapes to determine weapons, something I found super interesting and terrifying...
3 trains on Candymonium so I beelined straight there to ensure I got a ride on it, and ended up getting 2. Only about a 20min wait for back seat. It's a fantastic hyper, with some great floater hills on the return to the station, but man do you feel those trims! I'm not sure how I rank this one but Shambhala will still be my no1 hyper. But this coaster combined with the new entrance is such a cool addition to this park! They nailed the chocolate color and it's so eye catching. When I got home I finally ate my Candymonium candy bar I got when I did an interview at Hersheypark back from Feb2020 before this thing opened.
Skyrush was totally running so went straight for a back row ride. I forgot how the first drop is pure madness. I love watching this ride catch people off guard. It doesn't look like much from off ride views but it's genuinely still scary! Or I'm just getting old...
I then did a quick front seat ride on Great Bear, which was fantastic will all the fog the park pumped out in the Hollow section, and a great night ride on the never a wait Lightning Racer, which is still running amazingly well in my opinion. On my way out I snagged a front seat ride on Storm Runner which was only a station wait shockingly, considering how packed the park was. This ride is still my favorite launch after all these years, and at night with the fog it was even better. My partner then picked me up and we headed to Field Of Screams near Lancaster - which was insane for anyone who is curious. I had been wanting to get there for years.
Saturday was full rain so I was skeptical at what rides I'd actually get on, b

I still believe this park is too big to do in one day. I was with my wife and we had fast passes. In addition to these coasters, we also did the tour ride, Reeses Cupfusion, the monorail, and the ferris wheel. My wife rode the Wild Mouse and Laff Trak with me as well even though she's not much of a coaster person. Wild Mouse had the fog machines going and was quite a bit scarier at night. Oddly, she was terrified of the Wild Mouse, but Laff Trak was her favorite ride. Go figure. They were running it in total darkness for their Halloween event, so that was interesting. I think I prefer it with the theming though. However, Lightning Racer and Candymonium were also running dark, and that added to the experience. The theming was pretty fun in places with their pumpkin displays and fog machines. There was trick or treating for the kids, and a lot if people were in costumes. Very fun day!
I'm not going to repeat myself on rides I've already described except to say if my impression changed. Sidewinder and Comet were closed, so I didn't get a ride on either. I didn't try Farenheit again, but I will next season. I don't plan on riding Cocoa Cruiser without a child. So, sans those four, here is my ranking of Hershey's collection:
Wildcat (6/10)
Trailblazer (6/10)
Wild Mouse (8/10) Honestly, the scariest ride in the whole park.
Sooperdooperlooper (8/10) it's my first Schwartzkopf! I understand the significance of this ride as it was the first looping coaster on the East coast and it is impressive that it 1) gets such a long line and 2) runs so well after 40 years! I enjoyed it, but it is solidly a family coaster by modern standards.
Laff Trak (8/10) Honestly, love it more based on my wife's reaction to it.
Lightning Racer (Thunder, dark ride) (9/10): Another Hersheypark ride that people love to dunk on for no reason! It was extra fun in the dark, but I don't believe that completely explains the disparity between what people describe and what I experienced. It is fast, has a fun layout, and is not overly rough... what am I missing? If you're mad about the forces, it's supposed to be a family coaster. This is about on par with the Racer at Kings Island for me in terms of thrill level, even if they're very different rides, but nobody holds Racer to this weird standard. Maybe it's that people expect certain things from a GCI even if they've
