Just finished this book and although the beginning was a bit slow once you get to the halfway point and you realiZe that it was all important ground work that needed to be laid down before the story really kicks in!
This is a story of fraternal twin sisters, raised by a questionable mother leaving them both with different versions of a shared childhood. One sister has many sensory issues and the other sister takes pride in taking care of her. I don’t want to give any spoilers but this type of relationship comes off as a bit toxic to onlookers. Combine that with one of the sisters not being able to have a baby (but desperately wanting one) and another sister not wanting one but physically able to have one, you have the makings of an extremely toxic story that towards the end of the book I was flying through the pages to get to the final conclusion so I could breathe.
