Hey Folks, I've got a problem which I haven't seen too many posts about in my searches. My lawn is starting to be invaded by Broad-Leaved Helleborine. They are spready extremely fast and look really hardy. Any suggestions for quick control? I'm not sure if Tenacity would do the trick. Roundup would be the easiest solution, but a lot of these weeds are directly in my my lawn. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts. I'm in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
This terrestrial orchid produces oxycodone along with other alkaloids (some good some bad). I was wondering if anybody has any experience regarding this plant and its medicinal use. Wondering if it would be worthwhile to grow as a medicine, regardless I plan to grow atleast one for the sake of expanding my garden. Let me know!
Did we ever get any updates on this one? Bioassays at least? I find it hard to believe that news would break out of a natural source of oxycodone that grows like a weed without the druggie web putting their top minds to work on this.
I remember people talking about setting up an apiary in a monoculture greenhouse to create made honey. But I bet it would also be possible to grow the plant inside and collect the nectar with a small dropper or pipette, or maybe even just strip the flowers and make a tea, or an alcohol wash with cannabis for opiated hash

I've never heard of this plants properties before. was wondering what any one else might know about it.
I'm not looking for advice on how to extract it. I'm curious as to what other plants out there aside from papaver somniferum contain opioids.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
