A list of puns related to "Headphone Jack"
Why YSK: A lot of times people who fix your phone will replace the part itself because they see an opportunity, not only that but you can fix the problem yourself by just getting the dust off with a toothpick carefully
As the title says, I finally busted the headphone jack on my S7 after many years of services, plus the battery is pretty bad on it now, so it's time to look into a new phone. I can get a good network plan and an A52 for $55AUD a month so that's why its seemingly a good option for me.
But I have heard the A52 is quite sluggish, and I have found it hard to find any real comparison of an A52 and a S7 besides spec lists, which are pretty similar from what I see.
So doesnt anyone with experience with both models have any advice?
EDIT: the offer I have from my current provider is a A52S, not the A52, for $11/per month with a $45/per month network plan that meets my needs.
No I don't want wireless headphones and no I don't want USB C headphones! This scummy marketing technique for us to be forced to buy wireless headphones is getting fking outrageous. If I wanna use wired 3.5mm headphones then I should be allowed to. I'm not gonna buy a phone only to be forced to buy more shit purely to have an experience that should be a standard! Apple can keep their dumb airpod nonsense because I think their phones are shit anyways. But I expect better from Android.
One of the reasons why I LOVED Samsung phones was that they were not only powerful, but had Micro SD Card support as well as a headphone jack. I know wireless headphones and cloud data backup are popular, but a micro SD card is a one time purchase. The Galaxy S10 line included everything. But after finding out the S21 removed the headphone jack AND the micro SD card support I have no desire to upgrade. If I want an iPhone, I would get an iPhone. Did they not learn from the Galaxy S6?
A key selling point of Samsung phones was the external storage and headphone jack (as you can add a microphone to the phone).
Now they have been removed I would Samsung realise these were loved features?
This is a fix that works for almost all dell laptops.
Please reply if any errors occur
I just got a new phone today bc my previous one died (RIP). Upon returning home with my shiny new galaxy s21 I realized there was no jack and I've never been so upset with myself for not researching! I figured whatever, that's just an apple thing, right? Ugh. I haven't looked at new phones since late 2018, early 2019 so I guess I'm just way out of the loop.
Stupid, stupid, stupid idea. I LOVE my headphones and my ADHD means I have 0 chance of keeping track of wireless buds, even with a case. I ordered some with a wire that goes behind your head but it just won't be the same.

For all that missed it: this was a greedy ploy by a fruit company to fuck us into spending more money on their shitty wireless earbuds. The copycats realized this too and followed suit. DO NOT condone the corrupt behavior of these assholes; REFUSE to buy a phone without a jack!!!
PS: Dongles, worrying about your headset battery life, significantly worse audio and call quality, and pairing via pootooth are FUCKING ANNOYING and not worth the extra hassle in many instances.
Bonus, screen size less than 5 inches and a replaceable battery. But that feels impossible these days.
Don't need 5g, don't need higher power processor or high end screen. I tend to buy cheaper phones so I don't need to worry about breaking them.
Currently use Sprint

Hi, all. I installed the December update on Monday. A short while after, I plugged in a pair of wired ear buds into my headphone jack, and the phone immediately shut down and booted into recovery mode. I was able to reboot my phone just fine, but it had me worried that my data was corrupted.
I have since tested it a few more times, and this bug occurs 100% of the time for me. If I plug in something to the headphone jack, my phone is guaranteed to enter recovery mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT: after trying Bluetooth earbuds, I can confirm the issue affects Bluetooth headphones as well. The phone reboots and enters recovery mode immediately after connecting to the earbuds.
EDIT 2: for those having similar issues, booting into safe mode fixed the problem, at least while in safe mode. That seems to suggest that some 3rd party software is causing the issue (my phone is not rooted. All 3rd party apps are from the Play Store).
EDIT 3: fixed! For those having problems, make sure all your Play Store apps are up to date. There must be an older build of a Play Store app that was interacting with the December update to cause the issue. I didn't have automatic updates enabled, but I can use headphones once again after updating all my apps.
Hi folks.
I have AKG headphones that were wired to a 3.5mm jack. The jack has a screw on component where you can screw on a 6.35mm jack.
Unfortunately the 3.5mm jack got stripped. I know I can wire them again to another 3.5mm jack but I would like to wire them straight to a right angle 6.35mm jack instead.
Is this possible? And if so, what colors would correspond to the new jack head? The colors of the wires from the headphones are white yellow red.
Thanks all!

Tons of cheaper phones released in India year around from Xiaomi and Samsung all have headphone jacks. A premium tablet sure as shit could've had a jack.
It was never about 'space' or 'courage'. It was about making money from disposable $180 earphones that cannot be serviced and will inevitably need replacing.
They (the smartphone industry) could've just as easily made excellent wireless earphones ALONGSIDE regular wired ones. They knew no one would buy them unless pushed.
I don't believe this will change unfortunately.
Doesn't have to support 5G in Canada. LTE on rogers, chatr, Telus, or bell is fine. Doesn't need wireless charging or the most powerful processing. Just a good audio effects or DAC compatibility. Preferably not a chinese brand like Xiaomi etc. Unlocked and new.
Hey guys , right now i have a galaxy s10 plus , i love it , but the battery is not like it was , the screen is broken , and i have viruses hahhh , i'm looking for a galaxy that has a low-radiation levels , good performances , dust and water proof , and still has the 3.5 headset jack , if someone knows any please suggest(;
Thank you guys(:
Okay, many do hope for a second revision of the FP4 to feature a headphone jack. I don't. Build-in headphone jacks can bring lots of issues with them. They can fit poorly, they can be used in collaboration with a weak DAC, they can be at the wrong side of your device for your case of usage. On top of all this, manufacturers dislike the special routing of the audio lanes (in opposite to data lanes) and protection.
All this can be circumvented with an alternative to 1xUSB-C+1x headphone jack: 2xUSB-C, one at the top and one at the bottom. This is ways more flexible in general. It can be used for other applications as well, like connecting displays, reverse charging devices and so on. It's simply a great solution that nobody uses. One can attach a simple DAC on either side. It's awesome and Fairphone should be the first to offer this.
I'm looking for a replacement for my Note 9. Does this exist?
I want to get a desktop CD player and use my headphones with it but I noticed a lot of them donβt come with headphone jacks (not in the front and not in the rear either). Most just have a RCA left + right outputs.
Ideally I would buy a CD player would a headphone jack, but then I would be missing out on a lot of CD players due to the restriction of choice.
So if I get a typical CD player, does that mean I have to buy a RCA to 1/8β adapter so then I can use them with my HD 6XX?
This is something that I have run into lately. If I plug a pair of headphones (or a line-out to speakers) into the headphone jack to listen to music, and then I disconnect it, the phone start reading things out loud. It will continue to do this until I reboot it.
What I mean by reading things out loud, is it will announce the name out loud of every person who texts or messages me, or when I have a calendar event that pops up it will say out loud that I have an event. It also does so at max volume no matter what I have the volume settings adjusted to (it is LOUD). DND mode is also over-ridden for everything as if DND doesn't even do anything).
All specialty settings related to accessibility/assistance (ie, hearing) features are all disabled.
When I reboot the phone, everything returns to normal. However, if I plug something back into the headphone jack and then unplug it, it will start doing it again.
Has anyone else run into this? It never used to do this and it has only been happening over the last few months or so that I know of. I am guessing it might have something to do with one of the updates that T-Mobile pushed out. The phone has never been dropped, nor has it ever gotten wet (given, it is supposed to be somewhat waterproof if it had ever gotten wet).
I have an essential phone usb-c headphone adapter . It works fine on my essential phone but my new oneplus 9 pro doesn't recognize any earphone output. Anyone with the same problem? Is it a defect of my phone ? Please help
Downgrading from an iPhone β the Nokia E61 is my current option, however I am just exploring if there is anything else.
I am currently looking into buying either a LG Velvet or Wing (as the EA V60 is basically a unicorn at this point) as my next smartphone. I like the uniqueness and affordability (caused by LGs exit from the smartphone market sadly) of the Wing, so am drawn to it, but the exclusion of an integrated headphone jack is a major drawback.
Wired audio quality is of importance to me as a fan of well tuned IEMs so I was wondering whether you could shed some light on the audio performance of the USB-C DAC/AMP that comes bundled with the Wing compared to what is build into the Velvet. Are they essentially equal or is one noticeably (perhaps measurably) better?
I also have in the past found myself in situations (at events were I was part of/headed the organization team), were the integrated jack on my Note 9 saved the event and was wondering whether the bundled DAC/AMP handles audio input well. I have sadly gotten to accepting that the phone after this one will most certainly not include a jack (unless either Sony or ASUS make a foldable/extendable) so if the USB-C audio support is good, I'd have no problem ripping off that band aid now.
I bought a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter off Amazon; after a month of working, it just stopped. Wondering if the official Google dongle has the Hi-Fi DAC. (Pixels lack this which is why using an apple dongle, for instance, produces soft audio)
Alternatively, anyone have a reliable dongle they recommend?
Thanks!
