A tall, dark haired man was brought forward by attendants without arms and stood proud before the Sultan of Morocco, Abu Abd Allah al-Burtuqali Muhammad ibn Muhammad.
Morocco had been great friends and sponsors to the Barbarossa Brothers. Now it was time for the Brothers to return the favor.
Hizir Reis waited for the Sultan to break the seal on the scroll and read the contents therein. He gazed out of the palace's arches towards a courtyard where a beautiful garden was meticulously maintained. The Capital of Fez certainly had its charms, even if it wasn't a jewel on the Sea as the brothers often liked it to be the case.
As the Sultan finishes to read, he gives Oruç's brother a long hard look. "What skills do you have?"
"I have a long history of sailing in the Mediterranean, Sultan, and I have been in many a battle, including the Battle of Karpathos where we routed a combined navy led by the French. I know the ways of Europeans in warfare, I think you would do well with me, and my brother sees it as an opportunity for me to further my own education in the matters of state."
The Sultan rolls back the scroll, pensively tapping it onto his lap. He had by now heard of further Portuguese incursions and he could not forget his own captivity at their hands as a hostage over 7 long years before his father could ransom him back.
"I can help." Hizir said unequivocally.

- Historically the Moroccan Sultan was assertive and attempted to capture back Asilah and Tangier in 1508, 1511 and 1515 but failed
- The many parties and celebrations held in Morocco in the Brothers' honour would make him a popular addition to the court
