A list of puns related to "Glenmorangie"
Iβve read a ton of reviews today and I think Iβm leaning towards the Glenmorangie. What do you think?
Saw it at Clubcard price of Β£33, thought 'I have to investigate that'.
It's darker. That is all. Side by side it tastes exactly the same. Save your money.
Hi!
My grandad found this bottle of whisky in a cupboard. We have been trying to figure out how old it is - he thought he bought it in the 1980s, but from looking online, it seems older than that (e.g. the bottle size is imperial).
We're not looking for a valuation - we just want to know how old it is! He bought it on a holiday to Scotland, but can't remember which year. We reached out to Glenmorangie, but they weren't able to tell us.
Thanks!
Some background: I love me some PX sherry, and Malaga dulce sounds to be pretty similar. Iβm also really liking sherry/vinous influence on my whiskies as well; however, I havenβt yet tried any of the mainstream sherry bombs. On the Glenmorangie side, I didnβt care much for Lasanta, but I know that it uses casks from a much drier sherry than PX/Malaga. My first single malt ever was the Quinta Ruban (the old 12yo version), though, and that was decently tasty, too.
From all the reports, this Malaga cask has been well-received, but with so many other sherry finishes readily available for half the price, is it bringing something to the table that canβt be found elsewhere? If itβs worth the effort, Iβm happy to buy it and sit on it until Iβve had a chance to sample the aforementioned classic sherry bombs (Glendronachs, AβBunadh, etc).
I am a relatively new whisky drinker. Iβm 20 years old and have taken a dive into the world of whisky, specifically scotch. As of now, my favourite is Laphroaig 10. Other whiskeys I enjoy are JW Black Label, Balvenie (12&14) and quite a few others.
Now to the point, Glenmorangie 10 is the most popular single malt scotch in the world (I believe) and I constantly hear people recommend it, rave about it etc. I have drank a whole bottle to myself, and drank it at a couple of barsβ¦ I just donβt like it. I think is boring, overly harsh for how weak the flavour is, and just extremely overrated.
Does anyone else feel this way? I told my opinion to a colleague of mine and he was positively offended π
Just killed Lasanta and would like to replace it but want to get some opinions on where to go next. I appreciate pretty much every whisky Iβve had, from the mild Glenkinche to the peat monsters. I was thinking Glendronach which I really enjoyed, but then thought maybe Iβll treat myself to some Ardbeg Uigeadail. I donβt mind the Sherry, but I donβt want syrupy or sweet. I hear Dalmor can be very sweet but how is Oogey? Sweet? I keep hearing βbalancedβ so I have to assume itβs, well, balanced. Iβm thinking it would be similar to smoked raisins. Iβve explored all of the Sherry Bombs and Glendronach was probably my favorite of that area on the whisky map. The Macallan Sherry oak was good, not great; Glenfarclas was disappointing, Glendronach I recall being above the others. Abβunah from Aberlore might be too Sherry.
So - what would you get. Price isnβt a concern though I donβt really need to spend more than $120-$150.
Hey everyone!
I have heard great things about both of these scotches and have been wanting to grab a bottle of Signet for a while. I just found a store that has a bottle of Macallan Rich Cacao in stock and itβs been hard to find.
Which one would you recommend if youβve had both?
Thanks!
So I was reading reviews of this stuff, and it intrigued me. Didnβt sound like something I would usually like, but I decided to go for it. To be honest, Iβm pretty impressed. The amount of notes in this stuff is amazing. From when it first hits your tongue, to the aftertaste. Getting all kinds of stuff in there. Spice, Vanilla, fruit, cocoa, coffee, and so on. While expensive, Iβd say itβs worth it. Thoughts?
I have the Ardbeg 10, and it's pretty good, but it's a bit too smoky.
Need me a 2nd bottle that is a "Malty" Highland scotch, not too sweet, but approachable and complex enough to be interesting.
I'm really not that experienced with scotch, but I love it. I remember drinking Virgin Oak, Copper Dog and Glenlivet 10 last year and I LOVE the "Toasted Bread Crumbs" finish I get with it, I'm guessing that's the Malt finish.
New in whiskey. Like peated whiskeys but want to branch out to unpeated whiskeys as well. Heard great things about this two similar priced whiskey. Any thoughts?
I find glenmorangie is a little funkier and tbe glenfiddich 15 is a pinch more banana and raisin cherry ish. And has a tiny bit more body
Idk about finish tho
What are your guys views which do you think are better? And what you like more and which has more value
Would the older Glenmorangieβs that sat in other casks after the 10 years maybe be more suitable?
Well, this is the first My Father cigar that Iβve smoked thatβs been (IMO) fairly boring and forgettable. Itβs got notes of cedar and a slight sweetness, but little else is going on. The Scotch is definitely the star of this particular pairing. Granted, Iβm only a little over a third in to the cigar. If it changes, Iβll update.
