The Texas rap group’s raw and and twisted lyrics helped propel the platinum-selling album to reach #24 on the Billboard 200 and #5 on the R&B chart. The infamous album cover photo was taken in the hospital shortly after Bushwick Bill was shot in the eye.
We Can’t Be Stopped gave the group the biggest crossover hit of their career with ‘’Mind Playing Tricks on Me,’’ which sampled ‘’Hung Up on Me Baby’’ by Isaac Hayes. The certified-gold single peaked at #23 at the Billboard Hot 100, #10 on the R&B chart, and topped the rap charts. It is widely considered one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time.
