A list of puns related to "Free Movement Of Workers"
IDW continues to excoriate "the left" for using labels like "racists" and "white supremacist" against them, but don't seem to have their own house in order when it comes to notions of free speech. Members and followers of IDW continue to ignore or rationalize away legitimate free speech concerns often because these positions are inconvenient to their pro-Israel and anti-BLM positions. Apparently being banned from taking the knee by your employer is wholly different than Twitter removing you from its platform. Except, they are not. And yet, you will see conservatives and the IDW scream bloody murder about the latter, but support the former.
As someone who once respected and followed those that made up the IDW, these cracks of hypocrisy in their so-called free speech postures struck me as extremely weird and down right intellectually dishonest. IDW appears to be nothing more than pandering to pro-Zionists and pro-Reactionary groups under the pretense of supporting "free thinking," "divergent viewpoints" and "rationalism." But the movement seems to simply support mainstream conservative positions on almost every plank without ever examining the rights history and contemporary suppression of free speech.
And in light of the new "anti-Riot" laws passed by Florida, I expect the IDW to completely buy hook-line-and-sinker the Republican party's justification to stop "rioting" when it reality the law will be selectively enforced and in effect criminalizes the police reform movement. IDW knows that often it is the police that deliberately instigate, enflame, and escalate crowds in order to inflict violence and great bodily injury on people they consider to be political enemies. And in many instances, actual rioting isn't even necessary for the police to swoop and unconstitutionally declare protests and "unlawful" and inflict violence.
IDW is a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously when they proclaim to be on the side of "free speech." What they are really on the side of is white supremacy. And they can claim all they want that this is a misuse of the language, but their positions speak for themselves. And their selective approach to free speech issues speaks the loudest.
He establishes Swedish-language institutes in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and a couple of the overseas French territories. (This is European liberal - center-left, pro-business by US standards)
The European Union means free movement of people who can look for jobs and work without a work permit. It also a single market for goods and services.
There are pros and cons to staying in the union. Looking at the pro-stay arguments e.g. the single market, I'm wondering why countries all over the world wouldn't be better off inside the European Union? Has there ever been talks about letting e.g Australia join? Or Thailand? Or any country outside of Europe?
Today the average American works 47 hours a week, nearly a full day longer than the 40-hour workweek the American labor movement fought for. Eighteen percent of full-time workers work 60-plus hours a week. If trends continue, Americans will spend as much time at work as they did back in 1920, before Roosevelt established the 40-hour workweek.
Americans work 50% more than people living in Germany, France, or Italy. We also work more than the citizens of Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, and Austria.
What historical factors lead to this huge backslide while other nations progressed.
