A list of puns related to "Ergometer"
I have the Kettler Ergometer Fx1 indoor bike which can be contacted to some chest strap I got with the bike (was long time ago). I have lost the chest strap but I have the Polar H10.
The Ergometer has a small receiver which I have to buy since I have also lost this part.
Wondering if I can connect my Polar H10 to the Ergometer via this receiver or do I have to buy another chest strap which was working with it, I think it was Polar T34.
Does the Nick have ergometers / rowing machines? Any other places on campus that have them (pretty sure the shell does but itβs very far from me)?
Iβm trying to replicate the mechanics of an ergometer (exercise rowing machine) for a project where pulling a handlebar spins a flywheel, but not when you let the spring retract (my first thought is some kind of one-way clutch and spring, but I donβt know what kind of spring/system I should use from a stiffness/reliability/maintenance/etc perspective).
My background is in EE with very limited knowledge about ME from working with cars, so I donβt have a ton of expertise with mechanics. Thanks in advance!
Are there any playlists or particularly songs that people like to listen to during a 2k and can give an extra lift for a few strokes?
Hello guys, complete bike newbie here actually except that at the gym I do my warmup on an ergometer and also love to do some spinning workout at the gym every now and then. This is now not possible and I would like to buy something I can use at home. I found https://www.sport-tiedje.at/cardiostrong-ergometer-bx60-hellgrau-cst-bx60 used for a good price. It's important for me that the sound is not too loud as I need to workout during my kids sleeping and this one has a magnetic brake (as I understand those are quiet). But can I also do some biking and spinning workouts on it while standing up? Or would sth like this be better? Sorry for the total noob question but I'd rather like to make sure.. thanks!
Hi, everyone. I am brand spankin' new to this sub and I'm excited (and a bit nervous) to start learning how to row. I've been resistance training for three months now on a beginner linear progression program (Stronglifts, if anyone is familiar).
I want to be stronger, yes. For sure. But I also want to look better. I want to lose fat and get toned. Maybe ripped. Sub-15% body fat would put the biggest smile on my face. Plus my doctor says it'll be good to add some cardio to my lifting. I usually hate cardio, but something about rowing draws me to it. So I'm hoping you all can help me get started.
But I have a lot of work to do. I'm 5'6 and weigh 193 lbs. I'm between 25-30% body fat. So I want to essentially cut that in half. I'm currently eating at a sizeable (though not insane) calorie deficit. I would like to see real, meaningful, measurable results by then end of 2021. Not this year, but next. I think that's reasonable.
Can anyone help me? Give me tips? Pointers? Motivation? What sort of 500 meter pace should I be looking to set as a beginner? What about my 2,000 meter pace? How often should I row to see results, and how far? Should I do steady state for an hour or try to row a few 4,000-5,000 meters in 15-20 minutes and then call it good? Keep in mind, this would be in addition to my resistance training. I do that three days a week and I would like to not do both programs on the same days. Would three days of resistance training and two days of rowing each week be enough? The most I could do is three days of each, with one day off. Would that be sufficient?
Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.
Like how does it track the information and use it?
I'm a lifter and a transportation cyclist. Abs have always been a week spot for me.
I've started using our rowing machine a bit more because my usual fitness routine lacks intensity.
And damn do my abs hurt. I've got a heart rate monitor so I know I'm getting a good cardio workout. But the only part of me that feels worked out afterwards is my abs.
Is this a normal "rowing exposes weaknesses in your muscle chain, and continued practice will correct this imbalance" thing? Crossing my fingers that's the case.
I'm not even rowing that much. I'm limiting my workouts to about 2000m. I certainly feel quite tired at the end, and my abs are too beat to do more.
Could it be a height thing? I'm nearly 6', which is tall for a woman, but I don't think that should matter.
The chain starts moving faster and the pressure gets lower every let's say every third or fourth swing. Has anyone got the idea what is happening.
No joke here boys. Does anyone have any advice for for ripping fat farts while yankinβ the chain? I keep letting some serious ass gas while Iβm on the erg and it needs to stop; also happens on the water as well.
I am looking for a gym in the Hamilton or Princeton area that has a hand bike / ergometer. This is apparently harder to find than you might imagine, is anyone aware of a gym that has one of these devices?
Hi guys,
So I have one of those and thought of developing some kind of on rails experience with it, like a bike ride with a few unnatural places. Mainly for workout purposes haha
Is there anything like this right now? If not, would you be interested in this concept?
Do any quality gyms near Fairfax have an ergometer and pool? I'm trying to attend a gym more regularly, to improve my speed on the water. The local Gold's doesn't have one, so I'm open to suggestions!
For what it's worth, I live near Fairfax Corner, if anyone has suggestions pertaining to that area.

Since rowing tends to involves a lot of leg work, the only option I think if is the ergometer. Is there anything else I can do that would target or isolate the cardio to the upper torso as legs recover?

... keep reading on reddit β‘I am rowing 3 times a week doing a simple 20min session where I try to go for 4km within that time (22-23 s/m). Is that a decent pace? Yesterday I made 6km in 30min at the same pace. What should I aim for?
I am 43yo, 5'8 and weight 82kg. I am trying to cut down on weight since I put some weight on the previous 2 months where I was resting from patellar tendonitis flare up.
Thanks.
