A list of puns related to "English Overseas Possessions"
I came across their HITB of Last Jedi randomly a few years ago and I love their chemistry so much that I've watched every video they put out.
I'm surprised that I find their humor really funny. Even though I was born and grew up in SEA. My childhood was vastly different from them. So I didn't get a lot of old tv shows and movies references.
Still, I love Jay when he passionately talks about some obsecure arthouse films, Mike's cynicism (and dementia) and Rich Evans' being Rich Evans.
I just want to let them know that they've got a fan from another country as well.
I wonder how many of you are from non-English speaking countries?
I'm just wondering how people are able to move around in Korea or Japan if they don't speak the language.
I play at really weird hours from work. But I have found playing on overseas servers to be hilarious. I have met some of the funniest people this way. I was in a tank crew with a Irishman and dutchman. Honestly the best banter back and forth I have had in a long time. Oh man I have had the best experiences playing with randoms. Had a Korean tank crew who spoke pretty good English. Tried to say things in Korean from google home translate and butchered it. Even accidently had my google home switch to Korean. And was stuck with Korean google for half the game.
And last I played on an aussie and german server. I gotta say play styles across countries is a thing. And pretty cool. The amount of times I was like screw it they wont understand my basic english. And suddenly they switch from German to english was amazing. Im here getting by just saying Garrison or tank. And some dudes realize oh he doesnt speak our language but is trying. And they just talk to me. Haha. Good on all you dudes. Yeah every community has bad people But overall I have had the best experiences.
Just wanted to share some cool experiences. Yall are awesome putting up with a loud American in your servers.
Did German communists seek to immediately relinquish control over these territories or did they wish to extend their revolutionary government to the colonies?
While Britain once had the largest Empire in the world, the vast majority of it's overseas territories are now independant. It still maintains some posessions, such as a few Caribbean islands, Bermuda, Gibraltar and a few minor islands in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, but the vast majority of its possessions in the Caribbean, Pacific, and Mediterranean are now independent nations. France, on the other hand, has incorporated its possessions in the Caribbean directly into itself, and still holds New Caledonia, French Guyana, St Pierre and Miquelon, French Polynesia, Mayotte and Reunion.
Obviously Britain could not keep all of its empire, but even some places like Malta, which would have preferred to be incorporated as a British county, became independant anyway. Was this difference in post-colonial policy purely economic in nature, or is it representative of differing attitudes among the locals of these places?
Hello there, I have a curious question. My bf is trying to plan his teaching career and is wanting to teach kids overseas English. Does anyone have any information they can share? What will he need to do to prepare? Any experiences? Any information is greatly appreciated. Serious inquiry, please no insulting comments. Thanks a bunch.
Probably a silly question, but is it a bad time to teach English overseas - specifically in Asia?
Iโve been wanting to teach overseas for a while now, and it doesnโt look as though Covid is going anywhere. Iโm thinking Thailand, South Korea, Japan or China, but Iโm open to other places too.
Should I apply and hope for the best, or is it not really worth the hassle?
Also, will countries be looking at vaccine status?
