A list of puns related to "Electric Soup"
I bought a second hand one a few months ago (Β£10). Curiosity has got the better of me the other day, so I finally pulled it out of the cupboard, it is soup making season after all. I looked up a few recipes then ended up basically chucking in what I had lying around -
a sweet potato, an onion, 2 carrots, 1 clove garlic, salt/pepper to season, chicken stock cube and water.
25mins later - wow what a revelation, piping hot tasty soup. Couldn't believe how well it came out and in such a short time. To top it all, this soup added to my veg intake for the day. I can't believe such a simple technology can transform soup making.
My pro tip for the day is if you have the chance to buy one, get one!
Just wondering which uses less electricity for cooking on longer hours such as stew or soups? Let's say if you set it to low for an electric stove for 1-2 hours vs 7-8 hours low or 3-4 hours high on a crockpot. Or if the cost difference is not that much?
fyi my apartment has no gas connection so even if gas stove is probably a lot cheaper, it's not an option.
I heard the term electric soup and immediately started wondering about it. According to wikipedia it is "(slang) A beverage made by infusing milk with town gas, formerly made and consumed by tramps and alcoholics in Scotland."
Is this actually something that people made and ingested? I can't find any real articles about this.
