Market Overview
Today was the perfect example of a dead flat hump day, markets started down a little bit before rebounding back over 0β¦. then the slow grind to finish down a little bit began. To be fair todays market was better than the futures were suggesting, so it will be interesting to see if momentum picks up again for the last 2 days of the week or if we drop again.

Energy sector & Materials sector
Energy down 0.51% today. We had WPL the major loser and the reason the sector was down at -2.12% after getting BHPs shitty oil assets. SOL who isnβt even oil was up 1.27% and WOR finished up 0.9%, everything else was pretty flat.
Materials down 2.97% with BHP getting clapped harder than a child at Willy Wonkas chocolate factory. BHP down 7.07%, turns out when your results suck the stock goes down, this is a good lesson to learn! AMC was up 2.41% and tried its best but besides that, we had once again another flat sector.
Industrials & Health care
Industrials up 0.96% today thanks to a shit ton of green! We had TCL 2.07%,SYD 1.3%REH 1.48% and ALX 1.62%. The largest red was from QUB down 1.32%, QUB was one of the first stocks I bought because I saw their company logo on the side of a truckβ¦turns out thatβs not a great reason to buy a stock.
Health Care couldnβt carry the markets today with the market unhappy with CSLs results as healthcare was down 0.39% and CSL down 1.47%. PME was the biggest winner by a mile up 15.66% which surprised me because I canβt see how the earnings possibly justified the insane valuation, but well done to anyone holding still!
Consumer Discretionary + Staples
Discret. Finished down 0.04% with DMP reporting results today and doing fooken amazing! Turns out when you can use your own delivery drivers and donβt need to rely on other delivery services you don extremely well, DMP up 7.13%. JBH was down 1.82% and WES didnβt help today down 1.05%.
Staples up 0.68% with everything flying high. We had COL up 0.05%, WOW 0.75%, EDV 1.10% and TWE 0.87%. Not much else to say besides Staples having a great week and a great month so far, but I donβt own any of them, oops!
Financials and Technology
Financials get the style points for today finishing up 0.69%. We had WBC up 1.41%, QBE 1.53% and AFI 0.96%. The biggest dump came from MFG continuing the sad momentum from the poor results down 1.71%, certainly one of the funds I wouldnβt mind owning but just
To start, I knew before buying this game that resource nodes were not infinite.
I'm about 30 hours into my first playthrough and the factory that I set up has used up about 95% of it's resources.
I had red, green and gray science automated and was working on other things to automate and wasn't worrying about blue science yet. That was about 20 hours in.
Fast forward to now and I have a few small outpost bases connected via trains making various things like explosives, sulfer, petroleum gas, etc. My main factory made all the science, belts, inserters, green circuit boards, ammo, basically all of the high-use products.
I go to start working on automating blue science and I see that almost all of my machines have stopped because all of my iron and coal miners ran out of resources. I moved them around a couple times but I was having to move them every hour or so.
I knew I was gonna have to move so I scouted and found a really nice spot and I got the red science back up but after I started working on green science I had a huge motivation drop. I thought to myself how irritating it was that I spent all of that time on my factory and I had to rip it apart and move it, redoing all of the belting and routing coal to the furnaces. It just really bummed me out.
I see there's a mod to make resource nodes infinite but that feels a little too cheaty.
How do I get over this hump?
