... keep reading on reddit β‘Weeks before the first arc ended for my campaign, I was hard at work on the second arcβs plot. My players were deeply invested in their characters (an awesome feeling for any Storyteller/DM), and individually approaching me with ideas and concepts for what they wanted to accomplish in the future. My players ran a wide gamut with system/setting familiarity, and really digging into what they wanted from their characters.
With this, I did receive some feedback.
In particular, my players wanted the pace to slow down a bit. The first arc took between thirty and forty hours to complete, with the time in-game taking place over three nights. Effectively, we as a group had begun the campaign like it was an episode of β24.β Slowing things down a bit was fine by me, since I didnβt want to run my players ragged *too* quickly.
On my part, preparing this arc was thrilling, and a bit daunting. The coterie were power-players (pun intended) in Los Angeles, with several having split their loyalty between different, competing Barons and their own coterie.
Following a brief real-life intermission, several key elements were introduced to the game outside of actual mission-play. Information was given to the coterie, to reflect their years of effort between arcs I and II.
The gameβs setting remained Los Angeles, however time moved forward to October, 1985.
Los Angelesβ amalgamation of Camarilla and Sabbat philosophies drew ire from both factions beyond the cityβs limits, feeding Orazzioβs anxiety about a coming threat he grew increasingly desperate to prepare for as time went on. Additionally, the Barons continued their political maneuverings against each other in the background, while more and more new vampires arrived in the city, sensing opportunity.
While Culver had disappeared since making his escape from Last Rites, heβd sent a note to Last Rites, telling the coterie to βKeep up the good work. Take care of her for me while Iβm away.β
An in-game month after the first arcβs conclusion, Stephanus, still rightfully enraged about the attack on his clan, invited an Assamite elder named Khayyat bin Zarwahi to take up residence in Los Angeles. This same Khayyat also revealed that she was the biological mother and sire of Mashallah, and sought those responsible for her death (Mashallah having been burned, dismembered, and stuffed in the trunk of a vehicle which minutes later went up in flames when the ghoul Makul combusted presented fresh concerns for the cote

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.

Neoliberals want to make it easier to identify and prosecute suburban misconduct; Joe Biden wants to, as Donald Trump said, destroy the suburbs. But efforts to solve suburbs through liberal reforms like these have failed for nearly a century.
Enough. We canβt reform the suburbs. The only way to diminish suburban influence is to decrease the number of suburbs.
There is not a single era in United States history in which the suburbs were not a force of discrimination against black people. Suburbs in the South emerged from selfish people wanting to live off the urban dwellers. In the North, New York was one of the first places to use zoning laws to build suburbs. Everywhere, they have suppressed marginalized populations to protect the status quo.
So when you see a suburbanite pressing his knee into a urbaniteβs neck until he dies, thatβs the logical result of suburbs in America. When a suburbanite brutalizes a urban, he is doing what he sees as his job.
Now two weeks of nationwide protests have led some to call for nuking, while others argue that doing so would make us less safe.
The first thing to point out is that suburbs donβt do what you think they do. They spend most of their time using up excess land space, necessitating more and more c*rs, leeching off of the urban population. Weβve been taught to think they βare the American dream and are the green way forwardβ said Jeremiah Johnson, the coordinator of the Neoliberal Project, in an interview with Jacobin. But this is βa big myth,β he said. βThe vast majority of suburbs are inefficient land use harming the environment. They are also very uglyβ
We canβt simply change their descriptions to be more dense. Thatβs not what they are set up to do.
Second, a βsafeβ world is not one in which the suburbs keep black and other marginalized people out through threats of exclusionary single family zoning.
Iβve been advocating the nuking of the suburbs for years. Regardless of your view on suburbs β whether you want to get rid of the suburbs or simply to make them denserβ hereβs an immediate demand we can all make: Deregulate zoning and BUILD MORE HOUSING. Fewer suburbs equals denser housing and therefore CHEAPER housing. The idea is gaining traction in Minneapolis, Dallas, Los Angeles and other cities.
History is instructive, not because it offers us a blueprint for how to act in the present but because it can help us ask better questions for the future.
