Asking for help to get my dental prosthesis repaired

A few days ago, i broke my dental prosthesis. I have been communicating with mods here if this request was okay, and they said yes.

My prothesis broke like this

https://ibb.co/d2c4W5L

There is a sharp edge that is cutting into my gum, i have contacted my dental tech and i spoke to her earlier today. She is quite swamped, but made an appointment on may 4th. From my description, she believes she can repair it that day. Which means i will also have to pay her that day. Her estimate for the repair was 160 us dollars, and i simply do not have that money.. In Denmark, free dental care stops at 18 (or 25 with private insurance), and i am 35 since march..

So i am asking you for help to fix my prosthesis. I am willing to provide any proof you might want, and come may 4th, also the bill from my dental tech.

I have paypal and i can set up a gofundme if you prefer that, i would just really like to get my prosthesis fixed..

Thank you for reading

As of now i have received 55 usd! I am so grateful for every single dollar, you girls and guys are so extremely great!

Edit 2: I have reached my goal and a bit more in the chance there are additional costs, + offers of more help if the estimate turned out wrong!

Thank you all, so so much. I cant believe your generosity! You are ducking amazing (did the d on purpose just for fun!) - but you get it. Just, thank you all.

Has anyone here transitioned from limb prosthesis into dental/facial prosthesis?

If yes, would appreciate very much that you could share your experience. What courses did you take? What can a prosthetist study to prepare for such transition? How long would it take?

Jan/18/2022: Universal healthcare details emerge: Single-payer, >90% coverage, surgeries/chemo/meds, partial dental & transplants, approx. 3+3% tax, $700M __ Artsakh's free healthcare, housing, university subsidies, new road to Armenia __ Cancer stats __ Asset forfeiture dispute __ New bills pass

This is your 14-minute Tuesday briefing in 3562 words.

##what will Armenia's universal healthcare look like?

To understand what types of "universal healthcare" systems there and their differences, I suggest reading this comment thread first. The government has been working on implementing one in Armenia.

Ex-Healthcare Minister QP MP Arsen Torosyan: this is more like a "social security" system based on principles of fairness, accessibility to masses, and affordability at the state level. We have to take both into account to have a sustainable system that helps citizens. //

Minister's adviser Shekherdimyan: coverage limits exist in every country. Even the richest ones don't include all medical services. The Canadian model is quite successful. Various European models have been quite good. I wouldn't include the United States in that list. // [BERNIE SANDERS WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION]

Arsen Torosyan: It's a single-payer system in which the funds will come from various sources. Petpatver currently uses contributions from various taxes. There will be new income/employer taxes, specifics of which are yet to be decided.

All the payments are collected in one place that will make strategic payments. The strategic purchaser must ensure reasonable and fair pricing, it must ensure competition among the quality service providers (hospitals, clinics), it must minimize the need for hospital care by monitoring chronic illnesses in clinics [preventative care].

The biggest risk is in regards to all parties thinking synchronously. The parties are Finance Ministry, Economy Min, Social Min, a bit of Central Bank, etc. //

Adviser Shekherdimyan: international experience shows that having a comprehensive insurance system is without a doubt a positive change. It opens our system to new possibilities that we currently lack. This mechanism will allow us to optimize expenses and give peace of mind to our population. //

CivilNet's street survey indicates most people support the idea as long as it provides decent coverage.

There are packages specific for certain types of health issues that cause death or disability. It includes treatments that are expensive and require long-term care. There is also a large package that covers medication.

The insurance won't cover unnecessary elective procedures, plasti

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Can you help me? I have these questions I don't know the answer to and they make me a bit confused.

1.Can you put a crown on a vital tooth? The answer is probably yes, but won’t that cause sensibility in the long term? For example if you have a dental bridge, and the two teeth that hold it are still vital?

  1. If you want to put a pivot on a tooth, how much of the crown should be visible?

  2. Does fiberglass pivots have any contraindications on certain teeth?

  3. How do you recognize the material of the crown on the radiography? I mean those crown made out of the metal ceramic crown are obvious but what about the difference between a full porcelain crown and a zirconium crown?

  4. When it is absolutely necessary to put a pivot and not a simple crown? When the tooth is mobile or when there is not a good implantation?

  5. what class of edentation (kennedy) , has the most success in reabilitation with a mobile prosthesis?

  6. What’s the maximum teeth that can be replaced by a single dental bridge?

  7. What is the most recommended material for a crown on the lateral teeth?

  8. If you have a metalic-ceramic crown, you can’t use a metalic pivote, what is the most recommended pivote for this type of crown?

  9. What types of ceramics are? What is the best? Zirconia crown is a type of ceramic or is it a porcelain with better properties? - im confused

Thanks in anticipation and sorry if my questions are dumb, I want to learn. I am not a native english speaker, I hope I translated well.

Mouth Prosthesis for resonance feminisation, Anybody researching/creating this? I just did an experiment.

Hi,
As many of us transfems know when we learn voice training we learn about using our tongue and our muscles to minimise the space and sound that goes into our mouth, however that takes effort and can make us pull some faces in the process. with my voice I use the back of my tongue to minimise the space at the back of the mouth.

Tonight I experimented with a material called Polymorph. basically plastic that you can heat and mold like putty. after shaping it to the top of my mouth and using it to minimise the space in my mouth I could brighten the resonance in the same vocal configuration as compared to without the prosthetic (however it is still a chunk of plastic so yeah, toddler sounds). I probably don't recommend trying this at home as I'm sure hard plastic is not great for enamel and who knows what chemicals is in random generic plastic (also it sounds like you have a chunk of plastic in your mouth).

that said the proof of concept is there, A (dental?) prosthesis could be used for more relaxed usage of resonance, if the right organization made it so it only changes the resonance and not the rest of the talking, we could all have a less strained time voice training.

I post this here simply because I know experts tend to look at these threads sometimes.

First post: about to get dentures

Went to the dentist this morning for a tooth/jaw ache. After x-rays and oral exam, the dentist told me that all but two of my teeth have major cavities. Honestly, it's better than I expected. My mouth is a train wreck(bad dental genes + poor dental hygiene throughout my 20s and 30s), I've known this for years. I'd expected that I have no healthy teeth left.

He said I've got two options, we can fix all the teeth and deal with more cavities in a year, or we can extract all of them and go with snap-in dentures. His recommendation was the dentures, saying, "you've got a disease. We can clean it up, but that's only a temporary fix. The best, and most permanent solution is to 'amputate' the infected teeth and give you a prosthesis(the dentures)."

I've known for awhile, that I'd eventually end up with dentures, but hearing it for the first time from someone else was a bit of an emotional shock. I feel embarrassed and ashamed, especially after the accusatory way the dentist spoke to me about my dental condition.

But mostly, I'm afraid, not knowing what to expect throughout this ordeal.
