Can you guys give me any advice on what traps are best for blues? Do I need a net?Chicken or fish? Iβll be crabbing with line on Ayers Creek just outside OC Maryland.

My heart skipped a beat as I processed the sight before me, the sheer wrongness of what I was seeing wash over me, my mind well aware that it was observing something extraordinary. Opening my mouth to speak proved useless at first, and it felt as though the air had been sucked out of the immediate vicinity, leaving me to produce only the smallest sounds of surprise, shock still robbing me of my functions.
The swirling masses on the beach behind us were beginning to coalesce and grow, forming massive dark monoliths dotted with dull grays, greens, reds, various colors of shells from the countless species amongst the shifting form, which almost appeared a single entity, moving in concert with such fluidity.
If youβve ever witnessed the mesmerizing murmuration of a flock of birds in the sky, swooping and shifting as they move amongst each other with perfect coordination, in total unison and harmony almost creating the illusion of a shimmering effect amongst the living cloud of avians or the shoaling of a massive school of fish, where they form a single mass shifting morphing as one, occasionally splitting off into separate clouds only to coalesce again with the awe-inspiring grace of nature, then youβve got an idea of what I was seeing, except on the ground and with far less breath-taking beauty and more of that jerky, robotic-like insectoid sort of movement typical of the animals.

My head snapped in Ryanβs direction, the question spoken with far more alarm than previously, momentarily distracting me from what I was seeing. Heβd backed up, drawing closer to me and it was clear why - the woman had gotten considerably closer in the time Iβd been distracted, moving at a steady pace towards us, disturbing, confusing details growing more visible with her approach.
The cloak she wore appeared to glisten at a distance, either wet or coated in some reflexive substance, reflecting the last vestiges of fading light piercing the horizon, and though it was growing darker, and I felt as though I surely must have been mistaken in what I was seeing. It appeared as though her drapings were comprised entirely of some strange blend of seaweed, moss, and other plant life, still sopping wet, covering all but the hand holding the strange shawl closed across her, and a portion of her head stooped forward as she walked.

*Edit* From many responses, I realize I titled this in a confuzzling way. I am looking to make a Crabber Melee, and it doesn't have to "Tank". I am seeking guidance from those more experienced than I, as to what I should be aiming toward to make this likely sub par build more viable.
I hit 26 after a full Posi run, and am at the mandatory respec. Searching online, there are very few VEATs guides, and the Crab guides I find are all about building a ranged build. I imagine what I want to do is not the most optimal, but I want to build a melee Crab.
I am planning on the full Fighting pool, to fill out my attacks since I only have Slice and Arm Lash. For defense, Tough, Weave, as well as Fortification. Not sure if the addition of Wolf Armor is wise, or if the mandatory Crab Armor is enough. For travel, going Leaping for both combat jumping, and Spring Attack. Looking at the number of toggles, not sure if I need all three from Leadership pool, to augment my Crabber versions of the same. Are there any other pool defensives I should be obtaining? Also, it is a bit off, but not sure which Patron (or Heroic pool) to pursue.
I would greatly appreciate any input, advice, or since my Google Fu seems weak, a link to a guide if one exists. I thank you greatly for your time.

I am new to crabbing. The idea of crabbing is fun. Watch netflix while I wait for the pot. I plan to use net based trap due to I am fishing crabbing off a pier. Also, crab meat tastes good but the price tastes bad.
Any tips on how to avoid getting pinched, I know getting pinched is an eventuality, but I rather reduce the amount of pinching?
How long can a crab be in a cooler? How do I store crabs that I don't intend to eat that day. I mean I have to kill it, but how do I prevent I think the poisonings of the crab meat.
If anyone is in the West Coast Washington area, if they know any good crabbing spots.
Or if anyone else has any advice for someone who is new, i would appreciate greatly.
Basically the title. That seems like an awful place, full of crabs, doesn't sound like you could stay still and have a conversation as you'd have to be kicking crabs away all the time.
I imagine the story behind people going missing when they go there is either that they're taken by the brotherhood or by the vampire.
One solution I was thinking of would be that the brotherhood has a magical item that chases away crabs or there's an enchantment there which, when you say a particular word, the crabs run away. But other than that it seems hugely impractical(borderline impossible) to hold meetings there imo.
