A list of puns related to "Condottiere"
Some time back I asked for a gwent like game in real life, and some people recommended condottiere so I bought it, and itβs a lot of fun itβs very similar to Witcher 3s gwent. So for anyone searching for a similar game pick it up its worth it. I just wish there was and even more complex version to get even closer to a real life gwent but for know itβs a great βreal life gwentβ

I love games including strategy, resources and stealth wich made me move from Stronghold crusader to condottiere as it failed in stealth. I tested the game by playing as 3 to 4 players (several times) and this is what I got from it. Bishops make 10 scores cards, spring cards and scarecrow cards useless as it removes the highest number cards played in the game and having almost the same amount of 10 scores cards, turning the 10 scores cards in to "the bishop sommuner"s . This resulted in the removal of strategy from the game and longer and boring fights for regions of the map. Also courtesan cards distract the player from fighting to the ability of starting the next war in another place wich made the game even longer. I was like "something is seriously wrong with this game." So I searched for bishop rules and the old rules caught my eye. As I read them, I found out condottiere fell victim for the cycle of doom in games. You know, when the developers want to make money and ruin the game. So I tried the old rules and bishops end fights without winners wich leads to scarecrow cards being useful in winter (or when the player is gonna lose in general) and 10 scores cards as they could be played with much less risk. Spring cards are not in the game so the winter is an actual game changer. Courtesans are not in the game either so players focus on fighting. These differences bring the strategy to the game plus resources and stealth makes the game perfect. However the new set of game has the advantage of such smaller box. So my suggestion is buying the new set and doing the following steps:

Here is the wiki page for the new dungeon. The Dungeon is out on the Amazon server and PuffedSmoke has been updating the wiki.
If you've ever played a Deck Building card game, you'll see some similar mechanics.
I see that those two balls boosts the amount of fragments from golden and Gumball pots respectively.
The problem is, is it worth to wait for those to be at 5 stars (getting Condottiere to 6 stars is 3 times more expensive than getting it to 5 stars) before opening any pots?
IS there any calculation of the "saved" amount of gem by getting them to 5 stars first?
Newbie here. I see a lot of units in the matches that I can't find in the Unit Tree. Is there a way to get them ?

Im interested in it as something of a filler game but I hear that some games can even take an hour and a half... Does it get repetitive for such a long duration?
So I just stumble upon a bug when you use wall breach mechanic, the province under sieged will magically repair said wall every monthly tick. This only happens when you are renting out your units.
Had a hard time introducing the game to new people. As they wouldn't easily grasp what the cards would do. So I made a cheat sheet the size of the cards that come with the game and I printed it on card stock and hand it to everyone on the beginning of the game. Made the game that much more better to teach and easier to get going.

Iβve been searching for this game for ages and canβt find it, a reprint seems unlikely. I can pay directly Via PayPal and Venmo, will pay for shipping, etc.
Thank you all!
Found A copy that was recently listed!
I was swimming in gold, and I needed more forces (and limit). So I bought the other nation's mercs. Hey it weakens them too...and now I can't access their diplo screen to stop them draining 2 ducats a month for troops. Like. It's almost nothing, but I find it really annoying all the same.
as things are now there is no reason for a veteran player to ever buy golden pots from condottiere.
since i guess that condottiere's statue will come out eventually and the only way to get fragments is to buy golden pots directly from him i was hoping for an alternative way to get them since it would feel really bad having to buy a ton of them just to get fragments and having them sit there doing nothing.
an indea could be to have condottiere give out fragments even when you buy regular gumball pots but i was thinking of a golden pot sink instead since some people already have a ton of golden pots with no actual way to use them.
my idea was to have a special opening of golden pots, limited to 5-10 pots per day, that gives red accelerators.
since the nominal value of a golden pot is 5 gems and red accelerators are sold for 5 gems (60m) or 15 gems (3h) in the ingame shops i was thinking of having them give out 60m accelerators as well.
or actually use a lottery mode with 15m, 30m, 60m and 3h accelerators with equal chance (the avg ratio would be 71m per golden pot).
I bought the recent Zman reprint of Condottiere and itβs been a big hit with everyone in my playing groups. Easy to teach, plenty of interaction, full of scarecrows.
I know there are differences between the various editions (most notably with how the Bishop works) and if you want some hyperbole filled outrage in regards to this β BBG thread is overrun with grognards ready to die on their respective hills.
It is the bonus cards players get after a re-deal I wanted to get your thoughts on. From what I can tell, 1st edition gives 2 bonus cards for each region controlled, 2nd has the βlast player holding cards keeps up to two mercenariesβ and the new version gives one card per region. I also found reference to rules that award none to anyone at re-drawing.
Which rules have you tried and which do you prefer? So far I have found one extra card created a runaway winner problem (even conspiring against them) but this could be due to luck / inexperience. Two per region sounds OP to me but we hadnβt tried yet. One per region but capped at player count seemed like a decent compromise but I donβt like fiddling with rules too much.
Hi everyone!
At the advice of Shut Up & Sit Down, I picked up Condottiere recently, and had one or two questions about it.
Does the Pope work precisely like Scorch in Gwent? And how does it interact with the drummer/winter? For example, if I played a pope during the winter, would that remove all mercenary cards? What if one player had a drummer, would that remove all the drummer player's cards, but leave the rest alone? What if I play a pope against a field of sixes and tens, but some of the sixes were doubled to twelve, does the pope kill the doubled sixes, or the ten? What if another player has a six that isn't doubled?
Do drummers stack, or does that work how it does in the Witcher as well?
Can you play a summer card if there is no winter card in play, to extend your hand a bit?
Iβm a big fan of Gwent and just recently got my hands on the Z-MAN Games reprint of Condottiere, which was a big inspiration for it. So Iβve played a couple of games with my friends andβ¦ was kinda disappointed.
Iβm not sure if itβs just my groupβs inexperience with the game but the gameplay was rather uneventful. I understand that big part of the game is to save your cards into important battles yet even that didnβt help much. I especially disliked the βwin the roundβ card and wasnβt excited about Bishop (new edition BURN one) either. The battles just felt lackluster - there seems to be just a small number of decisions during the battle and sometimes it just ends abruptly and letβs just say that the emotions didnβt spike extra high during that.
Have you played Condottiere? Do you like it? Iβm now in the process of designing a similar card game (different theme, much different rules, but the round system is kinda comparable) and trying to get what the hook is and to be honest, I'm not sure at all.
