Merci!
Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister
The Thick of It

This Day in Buster… October 25, 1925 “Go West” has its premiere in New York. It’s not Buster Keaton’s first rodeo, or rather, not his first Western, since he had made “Out West” with Comique seven years before — but it is the first love story with a cow in the female lead.

Le parchemin anciens V (en sans comique).
“The Garage,” 1920 was Buster Keaton’s last short film with Comique. But walking with Roscoe Arbuckle, his mentor, he made 500 smiles & he’d make 500 more!

#MovieMonday The course of true love never did run smooth… “Good Night, Nurse!” 1918 — filmed in a real sanitarium — is a classic Comique farce-fest with Roscoe Arbuckle giving everyone the run-around, and spreading the fun around, despite the otherwise dark story concept

Difference between drôle and comique?
Are both words basically interchangeable, or do they have different connotations? I’m pretty sure drôle is more casual, are there any other differences?
Buster Keaton and Al St. John monkey around in 1918’s “Moonshine.” The film quality of the only extant copy of this Comique short is poor, but the film itself is one of the best in terms of the surreal humor employed in breaking the fourth wall

Merci d'avance
Buster Keaton’s “Stone Face” was far more mobile in the Comique days, and 1917’s “Oh Doctor!” is an especially good example of that! Young Master Holepoke goes through a whole range of emotions at the hands of Roscoe Arbuckle, his doctor father.

Buster Keaton made his movie debut in Comique’s “The Butcher Boy,” 1917. He stuck with Roscoe Arbuckle for another 13 shorts before taking over his mentor and friend’s studio in 1920

This Day in Buster… March 26, 1937 “Love Nest on Wheels” is released by Educational Pictures. The short borrowed heavily from the Comique classic, “The Bell Boy,” including the elevator scene, which Buster Keaton had the decency to rework a little rather than have it be completely identical...

Uh-oh! Low stock strikes again! Grab “The Cook and Other Treasures” before it’s gone for good. It features Comique classics, “The Cook,” and “A Reckless Romeo,” plus a 1920 Harold Lloyd short, “Number, Please?”
If you find yourself too late, why not try “The Round Up,” with more Arbuckle (and an uncredited cameo from Buster Keaton) in 4K, plus 1913’s “A Bandit,” “Peeping Pete,” and a plethora of rarities in the gallery and accompanying booklet.

How far into the series does the Chew Comique Booque Clubbe discussion go?
According to the description, they're discussing the "series." Is there a certain volume I should read up to be in the know and not get spoiled?
One final Roscoe Arbuckle birthday treat found by our Olga, a behind the scenes article of missing Comique short, ‘A Country Hero’ complete with renditions of gags from the short by cartoonist, Gale.
The account by the enthusiastic, Paul Hubert Conlon is as close to experiencing the movie as you’ll get. Until it’s rediscovered ;)

This Day in Buster… May 6, 1919 Buster has returned to Los Angeles after completing his World War I tour of duty in France. He goes back to work for Roscoe Arbuckle at Comique Studio, where they begin “Back Stage,” which Keaton co-wrote, relying on his vaudeville memories for much of the story.
