A list of puns related to "Color In Chinese Culture"
Wouldn't it be more accurate to group them in the Mon-Khmer culture group (and perhaps rename them to Austroasiatic) as they're more related to them? (as far as I know)
Hey all, I've been pondering this for a while now. I have a 100 Year post-nuclear apocalypse setting, and due to events that transpired before the apocalypse, there was a large population of Chinese immigrants who came to the western coast of the US a decade or so before the bombs dropped.
In the 100 years since, the Chinese and American survivors have come together to form a massive colony named [I DON'T EVEN HAVE A NAME FOR THIS YET], and it is heavily defined by these two cultures.
I want the influences of both to be evident, but I absolutely DON'T want it to be a bad stereotypical mish mash.
Any advice on this?
I will be starting university next fall, and I have been looking into a few majors at W.P Carey including Language & Culture. I would like to work within international administration or consulting, specifically in east Asia, so it sounds really interesting. What scares me is that I would have to learn 1 of 4 languages, and the one I would like to do is Chinese. I would like to hear from someone who have taken Chinese classes at ASU, with no previous knowledge about the language, how hard it was or has been.
