A list of puns related to "Codenames"
Alright good afternoon my wrinkle wizards and smoothbrain boners, weβve got a situation on our hands and things are lookingβ¦spicy.
HODL ON!!!! (donβt try this at home)
So over the past couple months, weβve had the Mainstream Media (MSM) reach out to the Mod Team for interviews. We told them all no, we canβt do interviews. For transparency purposes, these news agencies are Reuters, Market Watch, Wall Street Journal, & CBC (Canadian Broadcast Company). Hell, we even had a possible connection to a US Senator lol. We havenβt done anything with them other than some initial back and forth to find out what they want. Itβs not our place to speak on behalf of the Apes. We do not represent Apes, we do not speak for Apes, and we sure as hell arenβt gonna try.
Recently, weβve had an uptick in outside agencies reaching out and if weβre honest, we think SuperStonk and the Apes are gonna be dealing with a lot more of the press/politicians as we get closer to MOASS. As such, the Mods have felt we need to collaborate with you guys on a game plan for dealing with these agencies, together as a community, because itβs gonna be a bumpy ride.
(for real, donβt try this at home)
So hereβs what we know: We received modmail with requests for interviews, we asked about what, some have responded, some have not, and here we are. One of them had a focus on why we were so adamant about Computershare and what changes weβve noticed since moving our shares into our names. We expect that soon, others will reach out and want us to say something. Especially when we start seeing the stock price add some commas π. Until the subreddit figures out how to proceed, weβre gonna leave them on βRead.β
How do you guys think we should proceed with the news? Should we engage? If so, how? Do you want to directly talk to them? Or should we tell them to fuck off? We want to hear your thoughts and ideas. The Mods do have an option to manually approve reporters if you wish to invite them to the subreddit to ask their questions. Itβs a lot of ground we need to cover. And because of how open ended this situation is, the Mods would like to pitch an idea to you.
β¦is band together and use the combined skills of the community to develop and create the first Supe
... keep reading on reddit β‘Seriously, at this point the calls for miles to get a new codename are just dog whistles. It reeks of "oh yeah I'd totally support diversity if it's done properly up to my biased ass standards. Only the "right" way. " usually the standards go something like" just don't make him "black Peter Parker" okay cool miles is his own character with different powers, costumes, he has different hobbies. Miles is more artistic and with his journal we see into his head to really see how he views everything, he's getting his own supporting cast and villians and yet people are still throwing out the same arguments from 2011 and still call him black Peter Parker.
Miles has cemented himself as spider-man. He's litterally the star of the best Spider-man movie ever! His comics run is fantastic, especially after bendis left. Culturally there's a whole generation where Miles is their Spider-man. The idea to make him to, "Spy-d" or whatever is just a glorified demotion.
Anyone can be Spider-Man. To take away the identity from miles is going against that core tenet.
I gave βAirbud,β and racket was chosen instead of genius. What could I have given as a good clue?
Edit: other words on the board were tick, universal, robot, Germany, pirate and Beijing. Tail and genius were our last two words.
If you ask, I'll give you one codename from which you can create a new and original character of your own design. As a "codename" for me is the starting point of a great character from which you can build an expand upon (again solely my opinion).
It will be completely Random
We always refer to it as "playing baseball".
"Let's go play an inning." "Did you get me the tickets to the game?" That kind of stuff
I literally tried to beat that boss 15+ times to no avail, and you just came and killed her in 5 seconds. And I'm sorry I didn't remember your codename...
This makes many psychic races very uncomfortable when around humans due to how strongly they radiate anxiety. Unfortunately pretty much every race is psychic In some way
Inspired by u/Sad_Ad_3076's post, if you could have a codename be in Arknights, what would you put?
It has to be one word, compound words such as SilverAsh are fine, just don't make it too long.
For starters, I'd probably put codenames like Daylight, Ultimatum, Shade, Bamboo, Magma, Apophis, Antithesis and Hallmark.
Like what the title implies, what are your favorite and least favorite operator codenames?
For favorites, it would have to be:
Texas - There's something about it that rolls off the tongue really well.
Elysium - The origins of the word itself are pretty badass, but I like that it contrasts with the personality of the operator himself, haha.
For least favorites...:
Hung - Because of my dirty ass mind and huge exposure to the darker parts of the internet, I can never think of his codename without it turning into something lewd.
Waai Fu - I can never take this one seriously, hehe.
What about you guys?
For me, I typically avoid codenames that are already in use by Marvel or DC characters or very close to ones already taken, but if it's not a codename specifically related to the character's superpowers, I like to use solar system moon names (Iapetus, for example), roller coaster names (Alpengeist, for example), and Pacific Rim kaiju names (Slattern, for example). What about you guys though?
For those who don't know, Violet is just "Sumire" in English (both meaning the flower, not the colour) and while there's a great deal of meaning in that being Sumi's code name since that's her true self in more than one way, it's pretty funny to think what the Phantom Thieves would be like if they were just as unimaginative.
the group uses these codenames: jeff as keaton, annie as west, abed as bale, elroy as kilmer, dean as diedrich bader, and britta as clooney. the also gave nickname to the comm as belfry. to those of you who dont know, those names are all actors that have portrayed batman: michael keaton, adam west, christian bale, val kilmer, george clooney (except diedrich bader, he was only a voice actor for the cartoon). belfry is the name of one of batman's top secret headquarter.
as a huge batman fan, here's the foreshadowing i can sniff out:
-abed is bale cause christian bale is abed's favourite batman (the batman suit he owns was from batman begins, and lets not forget the dark knight dvd)
-britta is clooney, which all batman fans consider the worst batman ever. which is funny cause britta's the worst
-dean is the only one that uses a voice actor for his codename, im guessing cause no one takes him seriously
just a fun fact, cause im a huge batman fan and i have just finished watching the episode and got excited:)
I gave βMyself,β and "basement dwelling hobgoblin" was chosen instead of genius. What could I have given as a good clue?
