A list of puns related to "Clawfoot"
Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a house and am trying to determine how much extra money will be needed to make it the way I want it. One big concern for me is that the only shower it has is a clawfoot tub. It is on the second floor (if that matters) and I would love to completely take it out and replace it with a standing shower. On Google and Reddit I am seeing prices all over the map, and I am unsure if some of the prices are just adding a shower head to an existing clawfoot tub. My question is, how much would it cost to take out the clawfoot tub and replace it with a nice, standing shower?
Id like to install a clawfoot tub and am looking at drainage hardware. The tub has an overflow and so far Iβve only been able to find drain assemblies that require the floor drain to be under the overflow. The space iβd like to put it in would cause me to either move the floor drain or waste about 14 inches of space as itβs be replacing a square shower stall in the corner.
Is it possible to do custom piping so the floor drain is more so sitting directly under the tub drain or are my only options to move the drain or waste space.
My friend and I were talking about "Go Ask Alice" just now and she mentioned remembering a similar book she read in high school (2009 or so).. she can't remember any details, bit remembers there was an older style bathtub on the cover.. we've been googling everything we can think of and nothing is striking her.. any ideas? Thank you!
EDIT!
Finally getting back into AC as this semester has been tough so far. I'm looking for some things for my island (a supernatural themed island).
I am still looking for any colours other than red and white of racecar beds (I need multiple, this is for Bobby's junkyard)
Willing to give 10NMTs per item!! :)
name your price, Iβve been looking for this for a while so if you have one to give it would be greatly appreciated!
My old clawfoot only says "PORCELIRON" on the bottom. Which is kind of strange to me because I cant find any info about it. Almost as if they combined the words porcelain and iron, or if that was the manufactures name or a typo? Any thoughts?
Just closed on Friday. Single bathroom is a little small, the space between the front of the toilet and the side of the clawfoot tub is narrow. Especially as we would like to replace the toilet with an elongate one.
There is about 8-10 inches of space between the opposite edge of the clawfoot tub and the wall. I was wondering how feasible it would be to pick up the tub with a car jack and just scoot it back closer to the wall to get a few more inches of space.
I'm not worried about moving the water lines in for that, but I'm not sure about the drain line. Is is feasible to just add a little elbow or something from the bottom of the tub to the current drain line? What would be the best way to go about that?
Iβve lived in the buffalo area my entire life and have always been hiking in Zoar Valley since I was a kid and Iβve always heard of the clawfoot people who lived in the valley in the late 19th and early 20th century who were descendants of an English prostitute who because of syphilis had abnormalities on her hands and feet that resembled claws and passed these traits down to numerous generations of her family who lived in the woods of Zoar Valley and due to being shunned and outcasted in the region a generation made a pact to no longer have children so there bloodline could die out. I have heard many different stories of these people with the same base story. I would love it if you could do an in depth video of this story to find out the truths of these people.
So I just moved into a house that has a clawfoot run with a shower in the master bathroom. I have never showered in one of these, and quickly learned thereβs a learning curve to it. We bought a pretty thick liner with some magnets on the bottom, and it had 32 holes on it (i think). That seemed to work pretty well, but still have some of the curtain billowing in and I can imagine that would get annoying over time, especially as that curtain gets some mold on it.
Anyone have any tips? -Iβve read that if you use two shower liners and have them meet on the side where the shower head is, and leave the back side open- that it can work well. Anyone have any experience with that?
Another thing is storage, where is a good place to put shampoo/soap? Iβm sure there are some hacks of some sort to mount to the overhead curtain rod or something, which might help with the billowing. Or is it best to just open the curtain and reach over to a shelf?
You can obviously see that I am a complete noob to this kind of showering. Weβll be living here for a couple of years so hopefully thereβs some good information out there that can help a brotha out. Thanks in advanced!
I'm adding a shower to a 100 year old clawfoot bathtub, and am stumped by shower curtain choices. Don't want to use plastic or vinyl. We live in a dry climate, and the room has good air flow. I was leaning toward 100% cotton curtain. Sounds like hemp is a better choice, but I can't find a good source for white hemp fabric curtain. Suggestions?
