A list of puns related to "Chromium Plate"
I purchased the whole Chromium set and the chest piece won't stick when I log in and out of the game, it always defaults back to my other selected chest piece. It only happens with the chest, every other part of the set sticks fine.
It's pushing 200k, up 100k from a month ago!
I'm thinking of how to make my flagship unique, and I'm thinking of a chromium plating. Maybe not the bright polished look of the royal Naboo starship, but definitely full metal. Anyone tried something similar?
I've been asked to optimize a cleaning process in which precision instruments, some steel/some chrome plated steel, are to be cleansed prior to being geometrically measured by a non-contact optical system. The hardware to be used was already set in place, all I was to do was optimize the process to ensure operator bias during the cleaning process would not affect the measurements. Unfortunately, without a background in chemistry, I was unaware that I was actually doomed from the beginning, and that the process would have to eventually be scrapped completely.
Original process was as follows:
Place instruments in ultrasonic bath filled with tap water and a concentrated solvent-free alkaline detergent. Run for 10 minutes.
Remove and brush again to remove residual solution.
Spray dry w/air hose (no desiccant)
As you can imagine, the results were less than stellar. What I came across was that the detergent needed to be changed too frequently, so I added the preliminary step of brushing the instruments clean, ensuring no debris made its way into the bath.
Secondly, I discovered that there was heavy residue which was more than apparent to the naked eye following the bath; I added a brief tap water ultrasonic rinse stage to the process to ensure a clean finish. This was followed by a spray rinse, this time using IPA to promote flash drying. At this point I was getting consistently clean runs on my own (at least I thought).
A technician ran the process on his own without training, and subsequently ruined a batch of instruments (combined steel and chrome) that were left in the water rinse for too long and became heavily corroded. I ran a test on my own to duplicate this and was able to repeat the error.
What I did not know until now, is that chromium-plated objects should not be ultrasonically cleaned, nor should they even be in the same bath with dissimilar metals. Fast-forward to my current state, and I'm just generally stuck. I'd like to just ditch the ultrasonic together and try to find a solution to this problem by use of a vapor degreaser, but I'm not sure of the feasibility of that method.
So, I'm reaching out in hopes someone knows of a way to clean chrome plated parts in the same batch as with SS parts, without introducing harmful chemicals or temperatures that can affect the geometric tolerances due to thermal expansion.
Thoughts?
I got one doing a silver writ on my alt. Iβve never had that happen before, and Iβve done dozens of platinum writs on my main. Itβs the first one Iβve ever owned XD
So there's been an ongoing project of mine that can demonstrate the need to deviate away from the current process of cleaning a chrome-plated threaded objects with tight tolerances in the same alkaline filled ultrasonic bath with stainless steel parts. I've seen hundreds of general 'Do-Nots' being listed for this, but I haven't seen too many reasons why, or at least enough to those to sign off on my change to believe without my own data.
I feel if those two dissimilar metal parts will be cleaned in unison, they can tolerate a few (<30) seconds of an ultrasonics rinse sump in a vapor degreaser with a safe-ish solvent like 3M Novec or Honeywell Solstice, but not a full ultrasonic bath, especially with ammonia (another dumb idea production had). Any chrome-platers out there that have experience in final cleaning processes that don't damage chrome and leave 100% 0 residue?
What data most illustrates that this process sucks and is stripping the chrome off parts that are expensive because they are chrome?

The world seemed silent. All Vuxten could hear was his own breathing, the normal humming background of his power armor, and silence.
"Vux, Menhit needs to fall back. Take over," Peel's voice was loud across the helmet.
Vuxten jerked, looking up, and saw Menhit floating backwards, still making slow flowing motions. He looked across the parkinglot and saw still more Terrans rushing forward by the thousands, rushing through the floating pink mist that had been the first five ranks.

"We'll be pulling back to Atlantis. Mat-trans is working. Buy us ten minutes then extract. Cover Menhit's retreat," Peel said.
Vuxten nodded, jogging over to the single door in the building. Menhit floated down and Vuxten could see she was breathing heavy and covered in sweat.
"They are most insistent," she said.
Vuxten nodded.

just a quick question, do you know which basic SE razor has the best chromium plating quality ?
At first I went for Merkur 34C, but many reviews said that the chromium plating was going off after some months of everyday use. Fewer comments said this for the Muhle R89, so I think I will go for this one, unless told otherwise.
Love
the other day i pulled all of my stuff that i had listed, and dumped my inventory onto whoever responded to me in glenumbra zone chat. said name your price or give me jewelry but please take it i dont care and fuck was it liberating.
I just got one yesterday and really I have no way of going about getting comfortable with it. I don't have any experience with chrome and I don't want to mess anything up. If this isn't the right place for this question a right direction would be great. Thanks
When is Nickel plating used over chrome plating or vise versa? I know they can both prevent corrosion but what differences do they have that favor one over the other?
Thanks
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
So I returned to the game about a month or so ago, after taking a break since elsweyr. One huge difference is the economy. I play on PC-NA and we used to have the lowest and most stable market (atleast compared to consoles. Now I get back and some items have skyrocketed. Dreugh wax 18k, chromium plating 230k when they used to be 6k and 70k respectively.
I understand markup during new releases. But as materials become less scarce the longer theyβre out you would think the price would go back down.
But itβs also not just on materials, many items are absurdly priced. So then I think Inflation? Supply/demand? But thereβs also sought after items still at original prices.
Idk, Iβm just curious. Iβve been around since 2014, and never seen prices like this beyond launch. Heck, even at launch. Itβs odd.
I also have a PlayStation account, I hopped on there and the prices seem to be fine, stable.
Ideas?
Edit: canβt type.
