A list of puns related to "Chromatic Aberration"
Update: Photo evidence. Full disclosure, these are two different headsets and Oculus is well known for having inconsistent lenses between systems, but the updated headset is my own which I've played a ton on and know for absolute fact it used to be just as clear as the outdated one.
Turned on my Quest today and it showed an update icon, I guess it downloaded an update when it was turned off? Or while I was using it before and is just applying it now? Anyway, tried to use the headset today and now everything looks horrible! It's all blurry and the colors are weird, but since I'm experienced with VR I immediately knew it was chromatic aberration. But why now all of a sudden? Hooked the headset up to the PC and used SideQuest to toggle chromatic aberration to try and resolve it, and there's literally no effect whatsoever.
Update version 37.0.0.113.109.341671462 seems to break chromatic aberration, causing everything across all games and apps to look extremely blurry and have glowing blue/orange edges. Strongly recommend attempting to avoid this update, as I wouldn't say the headset is "unusable" currently but I will say all games and apps look significantly worse in terms of resolution/clarity and I'm getting a headache from the color shifting of the edges of objects.
As for me, I guess I have no choice but to factory reset and hope that fixes the problem :/ there goes my evening...
Edit: Factory reset did not solve the problem. Borrowed my roommates' headset, crystal clear, no problems. I'd update his headset to the same version as me but I guess he's not a part of the rollout. So all I know for certain is my headset looked fine before the update, looks like shit after the update, and my roommate's headset which never got the update also looks fine.
Edit 2: lotta christmas newbies don't know what they're talking bout https://xinreality.com/wiki/Chromatic_aberration
I have used my Quest 2 for months now, but today when I tried to use it I could barely read white text because it "bleeds" red at the top and blue at the bottom.
I tried adjusting IPD but it didn't work, do you guys know what might be causing this?

Do any of the tools shared here have a fix for this?
I am tired of this ugly and shitty chromatic aberration effect in every single game that releases lately.
Life is strange True colors and Tales of Arise have both this thing on and you can turn it off unless you go to the ini files which is something I should not have to do!
Nobody wants Chromatic aberration, please stop forcing it for God's sake!
Hey guys!Wondering how can I simulate realistic Chromatic Aberration in Resolve.I know how to achieve this effect in AfterEffects but couldn't really find any tutorial on the subject in Davinci. Thanks and have a great weekend everyone!
P.S - Adding an image from 'Sex Education' for a Chromatic Aberration Reference that I try to mimic.

Is it possible? I've been scouring online, however, unable to find any information.
Hi, I have recently purchased the GSO 8 inch professional dobsonian (a.k.a the GSO deluxe) and when looking at the moon and the planets with the 2 inch 30mm eyepiece provided with the telescope, I see blue/red fringes around the curvature of the planets/moon (chromatic aberration). However, if I move my eye around a bit, there is a specific spot where the fringes disappear. Chromatic aberration does not occur in the other provided eyepiece which is a 9mm plossl. Is this expected or should I get my eyepiece replaced? Thanks in advance.
I have a reflector telescope, everything looks well with it except for Venus, it has a lot of chromatic aberration on it for some reason, does collimating the scope help? If not, any suggestions?
Holding the controller in the lower 1/3 of view & looking at the white lights/letters there is green shadow that sticks up almost halfway above them.
Found a regedit adjustment which helps a bit, but I'm wondering if this is normal for the G2 & is there something else I should be looking at.
Playing Biomutant right now and there is no way to shut it off unless I go to the ini file and do it manually.
Fuck chromatic aberration and fuck the developers who force it in their games
Most games allow you to turn it off these days. It causes me headaches after around ten minutes of play and I know a lot of gamers get headaches from it too. Its also not a very popular design choice either so having the option to remove it would be very nice!
Settings- Hud and gameplay- Lens effects (combined with). Seems the devs are still trying to keep this disgusting graphical feature alive but under our noses. Enjoy your new clean visuals!
Its the worst.
Chances are these settings are holding you back from seeing the proper graphics by making them blurry or otherwise not as nice as without these settings enabled.
This is also true for many more games on the market, so that's a universal 'fix'.
Edit: You can also try to turn off depth of field (it's slightly similar to motion blur). (thanks for pointing that one out u/destaree )
Edit2: Also remember to update your AMD and nVidia drivers that were released very recently specifically to support Cyberpunk 2077.
That moment you can feel your heart race.
Your breath tries to keep pace,
But your eyes dim.
Your pupils flutter
You can't scream
Not even stutter
.
Because it's happening again.
It's not in black and white.
It's bleeding colour, painted dread.
The record is broken
The records are tainted.
It is the nature of the beast
Reliving everything you've ever hated.
