A list of puns related to "Cardston"
>In 2020, Albertaโs Provincial government began to require that all municipalities fund a portion of their RCMP policing costs. A formula was established to specify what contribution would be required; 10 percent of policing costs in year one and growing yearly until the contribution reaches thirty percent in 2023. The formula takes into account factors such as the municipal population, the municipal equalized assessment and other factors such as the communityโs Crime Severity Index (CSI).
>
>According to Municipal Affairs, the funding will help to add 500 police positions and 300 front-line officers, though there is no guarantee that our region will see an increased police presence. It is very important to note that the program is mandatory, giving municipalities no opportunity to opt out.
>
>It is a priority of Cardston County Council to keep the tax burden on County residents to a minimum, but due to the compulsory nature of the program, residents will see an increase in their taxes in upcoming years. Similar to the provincial education requisition, the police funding requisition will be collected by the County on behalf of the Province.
>
>In 2021, Cardston County was expected to collect $140,673.00,and is responsible for collecting $187,430.00 in 2022, and$281,347.00 in 2023. Rates may vary in following years asper the Provincial Formula.

That is a 33% increase in tax base required from Cardston County in 22' alone, and another 50% increase from 2022-2023 - Anyone have any other numbers from their own municipalities? (doubling in two years? - holy shit.)
That's a buttload of money that peoples/businesses taxes are going to be increasing.
r/LeopardsAteMyFace much. This area has been a conservative hotbed since forever.
Hi all, first time posting to your sub. Does anyone here have insight on the community of Cardston? Would this be a place a retired couple can retire on an acreage there? Is there a drought there that nothing will grow? Is it safe being so close to the border? I have close friends that are thinking of moving there but they are pretty old so medical facility info would be helpful too. Thanks and have a good day!
I served my mission in Canada. In Alberta specifically. I vaguely remember a member telling me that it was prophesied that before Jesus came Old Chief mountain would split in two. But I canโt find this prophecy anywhere.
Has anyone else (especially from Canada) heard this prophecy?
Iโm just curious to look at it through exmo eyes now.
Edit: I know itโs another failed prophecy. I was just curious to see if it was actually made or just an urban legend.
