A list of puns related to "Broadmoor"
Thanks in advance for your thoughts. My husband and I live in Oakland (I grew up here) and we're considering buying a house in San Leandro. There's a house we like in Broadmoor and I'm wondering what you all think of the neighborhood?
We both work at home although eventually I may be commuting to downtown Oakland and my husband will be occasionally commuting to SF. We're pregnant with our first kid. Things that matter to us are (relatively) quiet streets, good community vibes/things to do, and (relatively) decent schools. I know there are some awesome outdoor things to do like the marina and we already frequent the great parks in the hills. Honest opinions welcome!
EDIT: wow, was not expecting this many responses, and such detailed ones at that. Thanks so much to everyone who's commented so far. We're definitely more excited about the prospect of living in SL after reading all of your comments!
Yesterday my husband and I decided to take his vehicle to the car wash after taking it down gold camp road. This was the only place yesterday where my husband swiped his card and used it. This morning we woke up to a drained bank account. Someone is stealing card numbers off of the card swiping machines in the bays. The bay we used was between the automatic car wash and the coin machine. After reading reviews and owner responses I donβt see this person doing anything about it so just wanted to let as many people know. Thanks!
UPDATE: the owner has responded to my review rudely and claims the fraudulent charges are preauthorizations charges for holding a certain amount until the charge goes through. This preauthorization is supposed to total $20. I have $160 of fraudulent charges on my bank account.
Does anyone know if people are allowed to skin up the old ski runs near the broadmoor when it snows? Is it open to the public, or will you get the cops called on you by the Broadmoor or something?

Hey everyone. I'm looking to move to Omaha and really like the apartments Broadmoor has- as well as I've heard really good thing about them from friends who've rented in the past. My biggest hesitation right now is that I'm unemployed with my benefits running out this month. I am actively searching for a job- but would like to move to Omaha before I get one so I don't have to rush to find an apartment that I don't really like. I have a lot of liquid assets right now.
Anyone have any tips on getting approved for a Broadmoor property while being unemployed?
I'm looking to play competitive pick up near Broadmoor. Can anyone help me out?
Does anyone know where to find those little mesh bags of firewood around the Sherwood/ Broadmoor area? We used to use them for camp fires but I don't know where they came from!
Broadmoor Hospital is a high-security psychiatric hospital in Crowthorne, Berkshire, England. It opened its doorβs in 1864βs and was first known as the Lunatic Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Like straight out of a comic book, the hospital is as infamous as the people it has housed over the years. Known as βMonster Mansion by some, it has housed some of the most dangerous men and women in British history. Even though a lot of the patients are sent there by the criminal justice system, itβs not a prison but a hospital for the treatment of severe mental trauma. Since its conception, the hospital has been rocked by scandals and has been brought under fire for its treatment of inmates, especially its female patients over the years. Due to his power and influence in British society, the notorious Paedophile Jimmy Savile was made a director and manager of the hospital in 1964 and held this position for over 30 years. This role came with his own set of personal keys and rooms within the hospital. The hospital is most notorious for the patients it has housed over the years. It has taken in mad royalβs, murderous politicians, crazy bombers and most notably serial killers.
Peter Sutcliff, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper, murdered 13 women and the attempted murder of 6 other women. His crimes took place across West Yorkshire and Manchester between 1975 and 1980. After one of the biggest manhunts in British history, he was finally apprehended and sent to Broadmoor in 1984.
Kenneth Erskine, the Stockwell Strangler, began his career as a burglar before moving up to rape and murder. Erskine would break into the houses of elderly people before robbing and murdering them, and in some cases sexually assaulting his victims. At the time Erskine was homeless and an abuser of solvents. He was finally caught when he was seen running from the house of one of his victims and was sentenced to live imprisonment in 1988. He was sent to Broadmoor in 2009 and is currently detained there. A great article in the TC Herald had this lede:
"A development company has signed a deal to buy land for a large retail complex in west Pasco for as many as 100 new stores."
The article goes on to state that Trader Joe's is not committed to building in the area but it is a "potential" market. The broker of the deal said they have been in talks with PCC Community Markets and Metropolitan Market about TC expansions.
Additional single-family housing and multi-family housing is another goal.
I'm personally excited about the possibility of getting additional grocery markets near our home. Traffic will be screwed up for awhile but the end results should make it worth it.
The story is behind a paywall so I apologize that the link may be useless to some.

I'm working on a story with KUOW about gated communities. They're looking to chat with people who live or work - or used to - in Broadmoor. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Just saw a smallish light tan, maybe offwhite short haired dog in Broadmoor with a green collar wandering around. Maybe 20-25lbs range? I tried to coax it to me but it was skittish and ran away. Last seen trotting down S. Prieur away from Napoleon towards downtown.
Just letting everyone know. It seems like there are more houses with power than on the Entergy map, which is a nice change of pace.
Isabeau Levito, Clare Seo, and Mia Kalin are 1-2-3 after the Junior Ladiesβ short program at Broadmoor Open. Levito scored a 64, Clare scored a 63, and Mia scored a 62. Both Levito and Kalin landed a 2A, 3F, and 3Lz3T; protocols for Clareβs group are currently not available. All three ladies, in the International Selection Pool, are eligible to debut internationally this year on the Junior Grand Prix. Both Kalin and Levito plan to incorporate the 4T (or two) in their Free which will happen tomorrow. A few points below the American ladies is South Koreaβs Seoyeon Ji who scored a 61. Ji showed the world her triple-Axel back in October of 2020: will we see it tomorrow?
Of note: although the senior ladiesβ division is not yet done, Young You landed her 3A with a +2.00 in GOE.
UPDATE #1: Clare landed a 3Lz3T, 2A, and 3F all with positive GOE. Karen fell on a URβed 3Lz and only attempted a 3Lo2T. I believe she performed her new Short so Iβm glad to see it getting some mileage.
My friends are moving to a neighborhood in New Orleans called Broadmoor and they want me to move with them. Iβm really conflicted because I donβt know a lot about NOLA; Iβm from the midwest. Obviously I know you canβt make my decision for me but could anyone provide information about this neighborhood? Is this a safe neighborhood? Would I be able to find a job in the surrounding areas?
