A list of puns related to "Bobwhite"
Anyone got any good hotspots for either of these animals? Hunting them is so different from how I usually hunt animals since you have to chase them around.
Hunting tips are also welcome. Currently I'm running the Cacciatore. I experimented with the 10 gauge and while it really has some stopping power I much prefer a larger magazine. I also carry the 22. though I don't use it a lot.
My enclosure will be a sand bottom, 9'x5' block building. They will have access to the outside through a large window and a hatchdoor. The block building itself has windows and openings for ventilation. My question now is which type of quail I want. I planned on bobwhite. I was going to keep 1 male and 5 females. I would eat the eggs and incubate some of them. My worry is aggression. I have read more and more saying that bobwhites need to be kept in pairs. This leads me to keeping coturnix. I also like this idea because I want to have all different colors (I know they aren't just colors) and coturnix allows that. My question with them is aggression. How many could I keep and what gender ratio? Or do I even need to worry about gender ratio?
While I realize Bobwhite is new to Jersey City & local to Paulus Hook, I feel the need to share. We werenβt aware of their opening until they were added to DoorDash, which was a shame as we are several blocks away. Now we ALWAYS use their app. Itβs reliable and you get points.
The chicken is absolutely delicious, be it naked or classic β they are our absolute fave. We have ordered: Every. Single. Tender. My husband loves the BBQ, but I love the Spicy. We order their Mac & Cheese (always deliciously browned) and Roasted Beets regularly & I often find myself adding a Caesar salad for lunch the next day with their naked chicken, as their dressing is homemade and done with actual anchovies old school style.
Since becoming aware of their opening, we have ordered from Bobwhiteβs over 50 times. The quality is beyond consistent, they have an AMAZING staff, and to be frank itβs simply delicious wholesome food.
I wish we could cook more these days, but to be frank itβs all work, all the time. Bobwhite has saved us so many nights where itβs 8pm and no one had thought of dinner yet.
Major props to Bobwhite and your staff & a bigger THANK YOU for being here for us all.
Give them a chance when you can. My two cents.
As the title states Iβm looking at a SXS shotgun for some casual clay shooting and perhaps some hunting. I already have a clay gun just looking for more options to have fun with and I have a soft spot for SXS aesthetics. I found the CZ guns but canβt find much info and Iβm wondering if anyone has experience with them. My understanding is that they are Turkish made and I have heard mixed reviews on other Turkish guns.
What I expect to use it for: Skeet Trap Sporting Clays 5 Stand Upland Bird Hunting Turkeys
Will the CZ guns do well for what I will ask from it? Thanks.
I am in central Texas in a somewhat rural area (but rapidly gaining population) and both this summer and last summer, I've noticed (and heard) a few bobwhite quail in the fields around my house. This is the first time in at least 15 years that I can remember hearing them. So I'm trying to figure out how to help and increase the population. There is around 100 acres of open fields around me that are used for hay, but for the most part the fields are mostly 100% bluestem which is in invasive grass here in Texas and quail don't nest in it or eat the seeds. My grandpa says back in the 70's before the fields were overrun with bluestem, they were full of quail.
I've looked around online, but can't really find much info. It doesn't seem they will readily eat bird seed or rice if I were to throw it out. And having trouble trying to figure any way to best encourage nesting. So I dunno, any tips?
