Hey guys, this may sound odd but as a BlackBerry fan I hate seeing the day come closer of January 4th where BlackBerry services like BBM shutting down. We've got under a month left so why not make use of that time to use BBM before it dies?
This is only for BlackBerry 10 OS by the way, on OS7 and earlier because you need Enterprise servers to activate emails and BBM they shut that down a long time ago.

Blackberry filed a lawsuit against Facebook for Patent Infringement. Technology in WhatsApp Messenger appearntly is Blackberry's tech and Facebook wasn't paying any licensing fees to Blackberry. Both parties settled out of count , Blackberry got a judgement against Facebook and a judge in Germany ordered a hault on WhatsApp use of BB technology which could have affected nearly 80 million users.
Only the patent settlement Facebook and Blackberry reached out of court recently turned into a patent sale. With a large upfront payment and 7 years of IP licensing tail.
John Chen CEO said in March that BB entered into patent sale negotiation with North America based tech co and can't disclose more.
I strongly believe that BB and FB are negotiating not just patent sale but also a partnership agreement. Blackberry will secure WhatsApp Messenger for Enterprise. Blackberry gets free advertising on FB Instagram.
Patent payout upfront 600 million plus 1.4 billion over seven years in IP licensing.
Facebook wants to get in on the action and partner with Blackberry. After all it's Blackberry who invented the smart phone and the instant messenger. Judges, lawyers and political figures were using Secure Messenger BBM well before anyone else. They were first to market in smart phones and BBM
Mark Zuckerberg was living in the college dorm even Blackberry enterprise customers were already using BBM and it's only fair that Blackberry finally gets fair compensation for their innovative technology.

Does anyone know how to bypass the pattern lock on BBM? It keeps taking me to a "reset password with my question" which I also don't know. Idiotic I know.

I don’t remember the name of the service. But in the early days of BlackBerry messenger you could message a question to a number and a live person would answer your question. For instance you could say who won the Super Bowl in 1986? And you receive a reply back with the answer. I think that’s how it went but I can’t remember what the name of that service was. Am I crazy or anyone else recall this?
As a messenger app I still really like bbm and up until recently I still had a active user to interact with in my cousin who lives in Canada.
He's started using instagram too message me, and these days we have so many messengers and social apps with messenger functions to choose from.
I use a few myself Line Whatssap Insta Snapchat Twitter Imessage as I also have a iPhone
Here is the thing for its functions it offers bbm is the app I enjoyed using the most mainly Because
- I don't have to give out my telephone number to be able to use it
- The bbm Channels functions give you a built in blog space
- and before they change the groups functions, it's group functions were better than the competition in my opinion with being able to add tasks for arranging events and also integrated calendar functions but that's all gone now.
So I got to thinking what could they do to get users back into using BBM?
I'm seriously looking at getting the Key2, but I have questions. Does Android BB Hub support FB Messenger integration? Can I get notifications from Messenger and reply to them?
Hello is there any good Messenger that works on blackberry 10 and on the android blackberry? Google hangouts does i know but the will close in the next or at the end of this year. BBM is not an option. I know Signal on android and Telegramm are both good and secure apps for android but i don't get them for BlackBerry 10 . Any good Alternatives ?

I've just got a message from "Messenger" that from 30th November, the Messenger service is no longer available on BlackBerry 10 devices. I know, the platform is not supported now for a while, but it kinda worked for me. Since yesterday the instant messaging isn't working anymore with the older versions of Facebook application. How sad :(
