Stairs to raised baptistery in church assembly in TN
Hello all,
I am working on a design for a church assembly (A-3, 2018 IBC) in Tennessee.
There will a 3โ-6โ tall baptistery that sits on the floor and I am trying to figure out the most space efficient way to design access into the baptistery. What code do you think the stairs and landing have to be designed to satisfy? Are they considered part of egress? Or is it possible the baptistery considered an equipment platform (505.3)? Iโm a bit at a loss and appreciate any help. Thank you!

Baptistery parties not allowed
Hey yโall,
Clayton Lee Lewis here from Oakdale church of Christ. My my, I donโt even know where to begin. I know itโs hot outside and I know some of yโall are struggling to keep cool. At the church we have been giving fans away for the past two weekends to try and combat heat exhaustion for the elderly but the Baptistery parties have to stop. I donโt know which one of yโall has the key but Iโm changing the locks! This is the third time this week Iโve found White Claws and a black box in the baptistery. And by the way you left your phone so if youโd like to face the music then feel free to come by and pick it up!
Enough is enough.
There is another pancake breakfast this weekend at 7am in the annex. Feel free to come join the church for some prayer in remembrance of John Jerry Darcy. His family will be there!

So I was sitting in the baptistery at the temple last night, just listening when a SP organizing a youth event sent endowed priesthood holders to the laundry. I was so happy... Then...
A couple of sisters from the stake showed up and were immediately sent to the laundry to relieve the priesthood holders. I know from the conversation that this was the first time their sons and daughters had been to the temple.
That's when I did something stupid. I called the SP on it. I politely and discretely old him that he just sent a clear message to the youth of his stake that priesthood members were more important then sisters. And that he just denied a handful of mothers from the blessing of seeing their children first temple experience.
He was flabbergasted and started to come up with a response. I told him no need to respond, just pray and reflect on what you denied those mothers today. Then I got the hell out of there.
