A list of puns related to "Avantasia"
I've already posted about this on the Metal Archives forum, but I'll post here as well.
A while ago I've just gotten into Avantasia's music, and I have a few things to say. I know "flower" power metal isn't exactly huge with some metalheads, but I think Avantasia has made some really beautiful music. Personally I find their later discography better than their earlier, although the early works still sounded nice. the Metal Opera albums sounded a bit more Edguy-ish power metal before the Scarecrow, which started the defined whole rock-opera sound for Avantasia. I also especially like their most recent album Moonglow, and the first track Ghost in the Moon has got to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

So far my only problem with Avantasia is that a lot of their songs are a bit too long, and it can be hard for me to sit throughout the duration; I instead listen to segments at a time. It's a problem that I have with a lot of wannabe-progressive bands I've heard lately. Other than that, I have to say that Tobias Sammet is a very creative songwriter, and out of all the metal bands I've heard, Avantasia really provides the best Disney-like aesthetic. And I am looking forward to the anticipated new album that he's been hinting for a very long time. I really hope other artists such as Simone Simons or Bruce Dickinson make an appearance in his music some day.
As for Edguy, well, I haven't gotten into them nearly as much as Avantasia, so there isn't that much for me to say, although I will be bringing them up into this discussion. I do find Edguy's "joker" a nice interesting contrast to Avantasia's "magical" theme, and they are more consistent in general. These music video as examples:

I've been a huge power metal fan for the better part of ten years or so, but I have put off listening to Avantasia and now I'm horribly regretting that. I've heard a few singles from them before such as Moonglow, Farewell, Dying for an Angel ect. But this past week I listened to the Metal Opera Pts 1/2, and today I just finished up the Scarecrow. Songs like the Scarecrow, Seven Angels, The Tower... They're on par with Iron Maidens best epics, and I don't say that lightly with Maiden being my favorite band. Tobias Sammet is a musical genius. I've heard all of Edguys music and they're great, but Avantasia is on another level! Something tells me I'm just getting started here. After ten years of power metal, I would easily say that Avantasia is on the top tier list of bands to listen to.

I'm just curious. What is your go-to Album when talking about Avantasia?

It’s odd it’s the only album missing, I’d think it would be a record label thing but Not for just one album. It was removed a couple years ago.
