A list of puns related to "Australian Meat Pie"
I'm not talking to crumbly pastry kind, but the kind you'd get at the local Bakery, I'd even settle for a servo pie.
I looked up shipping meat pies to Kansas and itβs exorbitant. Looking to recreate the awesome meat pie experiences I had in Newcastle, Australia during the best year of my life
My sister dated this Australian guy whoβs family made βAustralian Meat Piesβ. At first I thought it was gonna be a heavy, not so tasty food. Bottom line: them pies were banging and since they didnβt last I havenβt had a pie as good since. Soooo can yβall help me with some parts of the recipe. I am a beginner so excuse my lack of knowledge or lingo!
He braised lamb and Iβve googled what that means/entails, so I feel okay with that part. Anyway, after braising lamb, I guess heβs combine it with potatoes, carrots, and peas for the pie filling. I have no idea how to measure/prep the right amounts for this. Do I just take a guess by how it looks? They also had a curried veggie version but Iβm not vegetarian sooo thatβs not on my mind, and I donβt know what it means to curry a vegetable other than adding curry powder (again no clue how much lol) My moms a vegetarian so if I ever figured out the braised lamb recipe, Iβd experiment with making her one.
Hereβs the kicker and where I need help: My sis told me that when she helped him, theyβd make 2 kind of crusts for the pie!! Baking is more foreign to me than most of my cooking skills, so idk where to begin. The bottom crust would hold the meat pieβs filling and the top was brushed with butter, both were flaky.
I need help. No idea of cooking time or more.
Thanks yβall. I have done some googling and can attach links if you want
Ps - can anyone come up with a better name than βmeat pieβ....
Hi r/ph. I've been to Australia twice and I really fell in love with their meat pie! kaso wala akong makita dito around metro manila (or hindi lang ako naghahanap talaga). Baka meron naman kayong alam na lugar or restaurants na nagbebenta ng meat pie. Thanks!
Hopefully one that is open tomorrow - I have an overwhelming hunger for pie, please help.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I will add these all to google maps and try each and every pie. PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY!
I have decided there are too many "best pie" awards out there, everyone seems to win an award and I don't buy it. The best pie must be found and declared by myself, and more importantly by each and every one of you. There can be only one. PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY!
Basically you can walk upside down if you become 100 percent Australian if you are not in australia
I am an Australian living in the USA and dearly miss one of our national foods, the meat pie. I have tried to recreate this at home but it's always far from perfect. The biggest issue I have is the crust, I just can't seem to get it right. The filling is better but not perfect.
Cheers!
