A list of puns related to "Arcade System Board"
I would say Naomi, but the Naomi is different enough to not have smoother ports than the Atomiswave. I think the Naomi has an extra processor. Anyway I know there are other Dreamcast based consoles like Sega Hikaru, Sega System SP, and Sega Aurora. I doubt most of these would work. Especially Naomi 2 as it's stronger than the Dreamcast in terms of power. Still though, it's just a Curiosity if any other arcade boards besides the Atomiswave can make arcade ports for the Dreamcast. Dreamcast home brew can make amazing things and make the impossible possible. If the home brew community can manage to make Naomi ports despite the extra processor, that would be an exciting day indeed.
For clarification, the games disqualified for this question are ones developed for an arcade board with the same hardware or based on the hardware of the home console they were ported to (e.g. Namco System 11 ports on the PlayStation, Sega ST-V ports on the Saturn, Neo Geo MVS games on the AES) or games ported to systems which served as development hardware for the arcade board due to technical similarity (e.g. Capcom CPS ports to the Sharp X68000).
So basically, Iβm new to making arcade machines, so this is my very first one Iβve ever wired, and I had to wire it to jamma from scratch. Anyway, I got everything working just fine, I used a monitor so I used a cga to vga converter which worked fine. But it sat for a couple months and now its not working, It has power, and everything is set up correctly far as I can tell, but now my monitor refuses to detect a signal. I tried different monitors, different cables, to no avail.
Recently, I got an arcade classic 60 in 1 board, and it has that vga port on the side, so I just plugged the cable into there, and connected it to the monitor, still no signal. I donβt know what Iβm doing wrong, looked online and couldnβt find anything, so I thought Iβd ask here.
TL;DR my monitor refuses to detect a signal from my boards, and I canβt figure our why
edit: changing the dip-switch did not help, there may be a possibility that my power supply isnβt working perfectly
edit 2: changed the switching power supply, which fixed my issues with the converter, but now the monitor will just have a solid green screen on certain screen dimensions if I use the converter, I will try it on a different monitor to see if that will fix things
I had never seen anyone talk about these arcade machines before, even in the wake of discussion about where Glitchtrap came from and was curious what others thought.
Afton spent years locked in that room in agony right next to those arcade machines, could they have become haunted objects like they discuss in the books?
It feels possibly relevant especially with the introduction of the three Princess Quest cabinets in Security Breach.
New to this and donβt know the terminology or technology. Been seeing ads for retro tabletop systems that are prebuilt with 8,000+ games loaded for about $250. Do they really work? And if so are there any suggestions as to which company is doing it best? I donβt want the full cabinet, just the tabletop system. Thx for any guidance.
Reddit never disappoints in helping me out with some questions. I figured you guys were the best to go to. I donβt really know what Iβve got my hands on here, but thereβs got to be some collectors out there. Or at least someone more knowledgeable than me. So, I have an 1982 Vectrex Arcade System. It DOES work, in fact it works seemingly perfectly. I donβt know what itβs worth. Any ideas on the value? Numbers are all over the place online. If I were to sell it, whatβs a reasonable price? If anyone wants to DM me for pictures of it I will send them. Also, where can I list/post/take it to get it seen by the right crowd? I would also love some details/fun facts about this wondrous thing- itβs just so cool!
Do I need an SNK mini pad, another SNK Arcade Stick Pro? What controllers will let a 2nd player join in on the on-board games?
Title.
Here is the link for the CP System II.
One of my concerns is processing power. Since XMen V. SF is newer, is there a chance that the board that I'm buying won't be strong enough? Or are all CP System II boards identical, in that I can play any game from the Wiki without a problem.
Here is the cabinet I'm interested in.
(Sorry if this is a stupid question. I just want to make sure I'll be all good for multiple games with this one arcade box.)
Thanks
Is there a way to add systems to this build? Does anybody kn ow how? if its possible in the first place.
I want to surprise my LDR girl for Christmas with our own Street Fighter setup with fight sticks. We're into the retro Street Fighter games but we're not super gamers so I'm not sure if it's worth investing into the more 3D games.
I have an Xbox 360, PS4 & 5, and regular Switch for our platforms. I've also looked into fight sticks like the Hori and 8Bitdo. I wasn't sure if the 360 still had their online store and, after some digging, the Switch doesn't have the newer loom Street Fighter has which may not be a big deal for us.
Right now I'm leaning more towards the 360 and Switch but I'm honestly just looking for the most fun and not the more serious competitive play style (crazy long combos).
Has anyone been in a similar spot? I would appreciate any help!
