CP System Puns

I support the changes they made last year and I think it’s a step in the right direction, however, the CP system still needs some TLC. As it is, you basically stop engaging with the system after CP 1300 and are most certainly “done” with it by CP 1400.

They need to add constellations that don’t require you to slot perks, don’t increase the power creep and are WORTH paying attention to.

Thoughts on what they should add?

Short sellers know if Wang is cleared CP denied. Therefore, they are requesting FOIA.

But if CP is released first the losing side takes a major hit.

Only chance shorts have is with Wang, even if Wang made mistakes and no CP the explosive move will force short squeeze. At which point Wang will be disgraced and retired.

I just noticed that the Valkyrie cp system has been removed. Does anyone know why?

Is there a boot process where the Capcom DL-1525 streams in the whole ROM contents and stores it in internal SRAM? Decryption and Encryption uses large blocks of data. I can understand how you could encrypt SSD or flash when the program expects to load whole sectors anyway and mostly deals with RAM. But the games for Capcom expect random access on a 16 bit level, don't they? If it would store the code in RAM, someone would have poured liquid nitrogen in the arcade, pulled the chips, and inserted them in their own board long ago.

I want to move my installation from ext4 to btrfs.

I have a second drive where I created a btrfs partition and subvolumes.

I have the subvolumes:

ID 256 gen 15 top level 5 path arch
ID 257 gen 9 top level 5 path root
ID 258 gen 10 top level 256 path arch/srv
ID 259 gen 12 top level 256 path arch/var/cache
ID 260 gen 13 top level 256 path arch/var/log
ID 261 gen 14 top level 256 path arch/var/spool
ID 262 gen 15 top level 256 path arch/var/tmp
ID 263 gen 19 top level 5 path waldelb
ID 264 gen 20 top level 5 path Games

Now I mount the subvolumes as follows:

sudo mount -o rw,noatime,subvol=arch,subvolid=256,compress=zstd /dev/nvme1n1p2 /mnt
sudo mount -o rw,noatime,subvol=waldelb,subvolid=263,compress=zstd /dev/nvme1n1p2 /mnt/home/waldelb
sudo mount -o rw,noatime,subvol=Games,subvolid=264,compress=zstd /dev/nvme1n1p2 /mnt/home/waldelb/Games

Then I copy all the files from the existing installation:

sudo mount -o ro /dev/nvme0n1p5 existing_installation

sudo cp -raf existing_installation/* /mnt/

After that I will of course modify fstab and grub for everything to work correctly.

Is this the correct approach? Or am I about to do something stupid? Am I about to overwrite the subvolumes? Should I do cp -ra instead of cp -raf? Should I have additional subvolumes or a different structure?

Edit: It worked. However, it required additional steps.

1. Boot arch live iso
2. Rebuild initramfs from within arch-chroot
3. Rewrite grub from within arch-chroot.

This doesn't work with a normal chroot, or a normal live iso or any other system.

Mounting other partitions in fstab can apparently also make problems. But I need to figure out yet, what happens, and why.

Edit2: The partitions didn't make problems. I just fucked up a UUID in fstab. Just double check everything if you want to save yourself some hours of troubleshooting.

It's been determined by the aunts and uncles of my 6 year old niece and her 5 month old sister are in and unsafe environment with her parents. Mom and dad are not fit parents for a hundred and one reasons. I want to involve CPS but am worried they'll put them in foster care but we don't want them split up or taken away from family. An aunt and uncle (mom's siblings) are willing to take custody of the kids but we're just so worried about the possibility of foster care. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I'm really liking CPS 510 so far so I wanted to take 853 next semester. I think Dr. Alalfi is teaching it. If you took the course, how were the assessments? Was there group work? Would you recommend the course, etc? Thanks

So I'm in the second lord castle and honestly, the CP system is really starting to wear on me. It's really annoying being deep into a dungeon and then having to go all the way back to town to rest because you don't want to waste orange gels.

What was wrong with the old system, where orange gels just refilled your mana bar? Especially because the game forces you to use CP in order to get past obstacles.

About a year and a half ago, my cousin’s girlfriend (and by extension my cousin) adopted her half brother and half sister, who were 8 months and 3 years respectively. She did so because her dad and his girlfriend were drug addicts. And while she’s definitely better at raising them than her dad, she’s still pretty bad. Here are some examples:

-constantly favors the boy since he’s younger and basically a baby, leading the girl to feel neglected (which has resulted in therapy)

-got mad at her friend for giving the girl some Cheerios when she said she was hungry because the girl is “fucking fat” (completely untrue. She’s a twig).

-constantly just places the kids in front of screens rather than interacting with them. Because of this, the boy seems pretty far behind developmentally compared to other 2 year olds I’ve seen

-just yesterday, told the boy to go up to his uncle and call him a “fucking bitch”, which he of course did

These are just a few examples but there are a lot more just like them. It’s tough because these kids deserve better but still have it a lot better than the alternative. And, the rest of their support system is pretty good (my mom and grandma are teachers and work with them on school stuff, my brothers will play with them, my other cousin tries to be the disciplinarian, etc). Worst part is, she clearly hates that she did this, but I think she only did it for the likes on social media (she starts every post with something about how hard it is raising them, even if it’s completely irreverent). I just hear stories every day about something ridiculous she’s done and it makes me wish these kids had better options.

I’m about to detail a thing that could be construed as possible minimization. I was to make it clear that I looked up CP voluntarily, I found it easily, I downloaded it soberly and I possessed it of my own free will for grossly prurient intent. I think it’s important for people to know not only why it’s bad, immoral, illegal and revictimizing but also how it’s so easy for the government to catch you. The ‘scared straight avoidance’ model if-you-will. So I’ll continue:

It was so strange to hear the prosecutor nonchalantly explain the automated robotic process of this entire ordeal. The CP is catalogued and coded by a robot, the CP is tracked by a robot, the downloads are pinged by a robot, the FBI/NCMEC/RFCL/Local Cyber Crime Division is notified by a robot, the victims are notified by a robot.

Is it a conspiracy theory to think the government purposely keeps CP on the web in order to maintain a prison industrial complex? And it doesn’t in any way absolve someone like me who wanted to see it, sought it out, kept it.

It’s sort of (SORT OF), like those stories of the government tacitly allowing billion dollar cocaine routes to operate across international borders and making up for it on the backend putting poor urban crack addicts in prison.

Only, the drug war was a partisan affair, with a constituency firmly in favor of ending it or at least lobbying for subtlety in the judicial process.

CP is a bipartisan issue (as it should be - I’m riffing only on judicial and legislative enforcement issues not morality).

It’s just odd that we can ban all sorts of things and people off the internet. But for some reason all the tools of the government and big tech are used to catch people with CP and not purge it off the web altogether.

Investigators asked me plenty of questions when they seized my electronics. You know what they never wanted to know? Where I got the magnet torrent list from?

It always struck me as strange until this last sentencing hearing, when the prosecutor detailed the impersonal routine robotic automation of the entire process from tracking my torrent, to issuing the indictment, notifying the victims and conforming the rest of my life to fit the mold of a pedophile sex offender felon.

I deserve to be punished for my crime. I doubt anyone who is considering possessing CP is checking this sub and reading accounts and will be like “holy fuck I’m not going through with that after reading this!” And for many of you the cold impersonal rob

Hey guys. 23F here. Kinda new to chronic pain but the experience thus far has been nothing short of miserable. Don't know how some of y'all stay so strong!

Posting here because, probably like many of you, my doctors are at a loss, and I'm stuck in a living situation at the moment that's less than ideal (boyfriend's parents, who are kind but don't really get me) as it leaves me feeling a bit alone. My story started a few months ago when I suddenly lost 40 lbs over the course of the next two months. At that time, I began to have some shooting pains in my arms and legs (especially left) as well. I didn't think much of it, I just assumed I was atrophying or something from being so sedentary during lockdown. And actually didn't even notice that I was losing major weight until my grandmother arrived at my graduation and looked at me, shocked. My mental health was totally fine, I haven't had anxiety issues since high school, etc..

Fast forward to now, issues persisting. Weight loss continues despite putting myself on a high fat, high protein diet and basically force-feeding myself. Have stabilized at 89 lbs (height is 5'4") with as much eating as I can muster. Shooting pains persist as well and are shooting/squeezing/burning in my arms and legs, especially on my left side, now accompanied by pins and needles in my left foot and hand. This in addition to a constant, aching pain in my chest, back, and limbs that I now, after a few months, am describing as chronic. Also experiencing short-lived icepick headaches, severe stomach problems and abdominal pain, balance issues/falling, extreme fatigue, and my short term memory is shot. My doctors are stumped, as we've now tested for all inflammatory conditions, infections, parasites, and cancer and come up with nothing. I'm on to neurology next, but no one in my family has MS or anything so I don't think it would be that, but I don't know how those genetics work honestly.

Sorry for such a long-winded post, but I genuinely start to think it's all just in my head sometimes even though my mental health is actually pretty good despite getting very tired. But then that shooting pain hits and I'm like fuck... I can't be crazy!!! There seems to be little explanation, and conversations here seem to assume it runs basically the same as today's world. But that doesn't really seem to make any sense. In this world the corporations have almost unbridled power to get away with murder, literally and figuratively, and the existing government has been fragmented into much smaller splinters and massively defunded.

If the government has very little power to enforce it's laws or raid corporate head offices to subpoena private credit information during a hearing (for example), how can legal systems exist at all? If we're being generous, maybe as just a very thin veneer to justify the elite's decisions or lobbying decisions.

If I wanted to do a Law & Order type investigation and legal battle deal, what would those courts look like? Do the corporations have their own courts instead, if they have their own police forces?

Who nullifies or upholds agreements between corporations the size of nations, or holds them accountable?

What happens to corporations who don't play ball?

Personally, I like it as someone who played on the higher difficulties it's nice having a simple resource to track for healing instead of it being nerfed on the harder difficulties.

I understood why they had to nerf it though, it was really powerful in games like Graces, where you could just spam Nurse / Resurrection constantly with almost no downside (due to not having a real resource cost).
