I am a software engineer and in the past I have worked mainly in C# and Java projects.
My company recently migrated some tools to appian including the software I was developing, so now I am supposed to be an appian developer. I have done the online developers training and the Applied developers training and now I am considered one of the most trained appian devs in the company since we didn't hire any experienced appian dev.
However, I still don't feel comfortable enough, there are a lot of things I don't know/understand and I find it difficult to learn and adapt. I find the resources very limited which makes the learning process very hard. I am used to learn by examples which are not very common in the documentation, community, internet in general. Also, since it's a very unique logic and syntax that is not used in any other language or platform, I find it hard to motivate myself to learn something that doesn't have as many applications and possibilities as I am used to from other languages. So it feels like downgrading a bit and limiting my future carrier opportunities.
I was thinking to give it some time because every new beginning is difficult. It has been 2 months but every day at work becomes harder and harder especially emotionally.
Could you please share your learning journey and thoughts about it? What was your background and how are you doing with appian? Any resources except the official appian community and documentation would be very appreciated

I don't have any programming background and interested in learning Appian. I know Appian says low code. My question is, does it requires any programming background to learn Appian or even non-coders like me can get into it?
Does anyone use the native testing parameters found in expression objects? I also know of Appian supporting cucumber, but I don't know where to start with building out test cases.
Anyone care to share their experiences with unit testing in Appian and any documentation on how to implement testing best practices?
For example, how would you go about testing that changes to an interface object wouldn't negatively impact live process models or break live process model logic?
Anyone use appian as a call center ie the phone rings and records are pulled up in the screen based on the phone number calling in? If so, what phone service do you use to integrate into appian?
Anyone here familiar with the company? I just got an offer with them for an internship next summer, and I'm trying to scope it out a bit more since there aren't that many posts on them.
So I am trying to find out how much the cheapest instance will run me. Lets say I have a personal project but I cant use the free version because I am need to import/export.
I know that back room agreements happen all the time with contracting, but I was trying to figure out list price.

From my reading of the website it seems like I could get an instance with 500 (input only) users and lets say a couple of standard users. ((500 * 2) + (70 *5)) * 12 = 16200 per year. Is this how everyone else reads the pricing web page?
Also what in the world is a data input only user? How do we configure that user type? How do we limit that user type? How Does appian know what type of user they are?
Hii I got competing offers from three companies in the Northern VA area.
For capital one, I got a software engineering position.
For Deloitte, I got a consulting one.
For appian, I got the solutions consulting one.
Which company is the best to work for in terms of career progression and work life balance?
I think number one has to be the death of load/width and the birth of local variables (although I still see weird caching bugs because of it).
Other than that, I would say the dialog to configure process model security at creation is the greatest. To often security is an after thought, but by asking the PM creator at creation that greatly reduces chances of it not being set correctly.
