A list of puns related to "Amaram"
Is it "AM uh ram" or "uh MAR um"? I guess it doesn't matter because I'm reading but I don't wanna sound like I dummy if I'm talking to my friends about the books lol. Also pls no spoilers
So, I'm making his Shardblade in blender and i wondered if his Shard has any confirmed look or is it up to my imagination on how I interpret its description?
If yes could anyone dm me a picture of it because i cant find anything that seem definite
While rereading TWoK, I made a pretty interesting discovery. Amaram when spelled backwards translates to the word for cheat or sly in my language!
When I was rereading Oathbringer the other day, I noticed a detail in Mraize's letter to Shallan concerning Helaran. >! In it, Mraize asserts that the Skybreakers were unaware of Kaladin's relationship with Sylphrena and would have killed him had they learned that a bond had been formed. However, the Ghostbloods also noted that someone had previously done so prior to Kaladin and that they had been silenced.!<
>!Do we know who this person was? My gut and the law of conservation of narrative detail suggest that it was Tien, but I'm curious about any theories that other people might have regarding this.!<
Was it his plan to betray Dalinar at that point in time or was he just a victim of the aura?
I feel like I missed some important detail about his motivations at that time.
I'm rereading WoK and Kaladin keeps indicating that Amaram betrayed him because he gave the Shardblade to someone else ("lighteyes don't like it when you turn down glory" or something like that). Is that what happened though? Amaram wanted it because he believed he was the best person to have it . He would've at least tried to take it from Kaladin even if he hadn't given it up. And I'm surprised that Kaladin didn't reach that conclusion. I don't think he was changing the story on purpose because he said it more than once, and "lighteyes don't like it when darkeyes do better than them" actually sounds more believable.
Also I completely missed that it was Restares who convinced Amaram to take the Shardblade when I was reading for the first time. I wonder why that was so important?
Does anyone know of a drawing/picture of what Amaram looked like when he consumed the Black sphere? I’m really curious! I kinda pictured him looking like The dude in Thor (Kurse Prison break scene)

Chega de ver merda neste país.
Tagged as Oathbringer since I know how it ends with Amaram. Rereading WoR and Shallan just met Mraize. He tells her not to harm him, because his life belongs to another. Do we know who he is referring to? I figured maybe he knows Kaladin is after him, but assumed he was referring to someone else within the Ghostbloods.
> He spun, certain he’d seen someone approach. But it was nothing. Shadows playing tricks on him. He made his slices in the wall and then carefully pushed open the hole he’d made. The Great One—Talenelat’Elin, Herald of War himself—sat in the dark room, in much the same posture he’d borne before. Perched on the end of his bed, slumped forward, head bowed.
“Why must they keep you in such darkness?” Amaram said, dismissing his Blade. “This is not fit for the lowliest of men, let alone one such as yourself. I will have words with Dalinar about the way the insane are—”
No, he would not. Dalinar thought him a murderer. Amaram drew in a long, deep breath.
Curious to see Kaladin's sentiments in this book reflected several books by a man Kal despised. Amaram's an interesting character because I think (as is common in fandoms) he has been flanderized somewhat and lost some of the complexity in him. It's very easy to simplify him to the guy who betrayed Kaladin, was creepy to Jasnah, and went absolutely psycho with Yelig-nar, but I do think there is some more depth to him than is sometimes presented.
Hello everyone :)
I finished Oathbringer last night (I loved it!) and was left with a few questions, one in particular about the two characters mentioned in the title. Be aware that this post will contain major spoilers for Oathbringer, and I ask you to please not mention anything about Rhythm of War in the replies, thank you!
In the final confrontation between Amaram and Kaladin, Amaram ingests a gemstone that apparently contained Yelig-Nar. Kaladin notes, upon realizing Amaram swallowed the stone, that this is reminiscent of Queen Aesudan when he saw her during the battle at the palace in Kholinar. However, the gemstone seemed to have a much faster and more severe effect on Amaram, he pretty much immediately starts sprouting crystals from his skin. When we encountered Aesudan, she was obviously being corrupted, but not to the same extent as Amaram, even though the gemstone was implied to have been inside her for much longer (presumably since before she had Pai executed in Words of Radiance? I'm not really sure).
Now I'm wondering why the effects of the gemstones were different for them. Were the powers of the stone amplified for Amaram because Odium was near during the battle? Or because he was already being corrupted by the Thrill/Nergaoul? Are there more of these stones that can be ingested and does that mean the stones only contain fragments of Yelig-Nar? Or did the Unmade leave Aesudan when it joined with Amaram? With the gemstone inside of Amaram being destroyed, does that mean Yelig-Nar is now free or does it mean only a part of him is free and in order to unleash his full power all of the gemstones need to be destroyed? I've honestly been thinking about this ever since finishing the book.
Maybe this is all very obvious and the answer to these questions just went over my head while reading. Should that be the case, I'm sorry I just made you read all this. Also, if this gets explained in Rhythm of War, I would be grateful if you didn't include that in your replies because I haven't read it yet, but I would like to hear your theories :)
Verbo pensando no passado mesmo. Bom, dependendo da pessoa o amor ainda pode existir, né? Mas eu estou falando de um amor que vocês escolheram ter com outra pessoa, um parceiro.
I’m confused about Amaram taking Talns shard blade. I understand how it got him caught by Dalinar . Dalinar had Taln Herald of war and the shard blade brought. Dalinar bonded with it and waited for Amaram to take it. Amaram took the blade. Why would he take the blade of one of the heralds that he seems to praise and worship at the end of the book. Maybe I just read it wrong. Was he getting it back for Taln or something?
