For me It Will Always be that time in which one of my friends said that Ultimate Conductor Tiranno isn't very good because it's effect to flip monsters face down doesen't work on links. Like yes, It can't flip links face down, but It's still very Easy to summon and It can Attack every Monster Whit it's gigantic Attack! And not everyone use links!
Hey !
So we all know that we are currently in Series 11 of the OCG. Burst of Destiny releasing July 17 in Japan. Each series is make up of 12 core booster set. Burst of Destiny is the 6th of the serie so we can expect 6 more that will again support each of the main anime (DM GX 5Ds Zexal ARC V and Vrains).
The final booster set of Series 11 will be release around January 2023. So the first booster set of Series 12 will be release around April 2023, the perfect date for a new anime (5D's ARC V and Vrains has debut in April or May). By that time Sevens will be probably over (I think the show gonna end by autumn 2022 since it's gonna be a 100/150 episodes show, probably).
And we know for fact that Studio Gallop (the studio of all YGO animes except Sevens and Season 0) has no plan for any new anime since the end of Vrains. We also know that Studio Gallop had a lot of issues in term of production (ARC V and mostly Vrains were pretty bad looking comparing to Zexal) since the premature end of Vrains. Maybe that Konami changing studio for Sevens is also for Studio Gallop to recover a bit before producing a new YGO main anime ?
What do you think ?
Hey everyone! (I live in the UK for context)
So, my step-son recently got really into the Pokemon TCG and it made me think about Yu-Gi-Oh and how I was REALLY into collecting the cards as a kid.
I never learned how to play the game, I got cards purely for trading because it was super popular when I was in Y4/Y5 back in the early 2000's.
Im super interested in learning how to actually play this time once I get my cards out of storage but I just don't even know where to begin? The cards I have are all from the first edition (I think that's how you'd describe it?). I believe back in the day I bought the starter decks of Yu-Gi, Kiba, Joey and Pegasus.
Basically idk where to go to buy newer cards, are the cards I already have still relevant or not? I'm a total newbie to it all again and would appreciate a push in the right direction :)
Thanks for reading!
So I stopped playing around the middle of zexal since I beat a bunch of grown men in a tournament and decided that since none of my friends really wanted to play Yu-Gi-Oh I'd drop it as well, anyway I'm super curious with how the games changed in the last few years. I recently saw that they're selling three of yugis decks and God card decks and honestly that was nostalgia over drive so I'm gonna be getting those, but is there any fun decks/packs currently available? I'm gonna be passing these recommendations on to some of my other nostalgia seeking buds so something fun for a group would be great. Also if there's any decks that compliment a black Luster soldier envoy of the beginning that'd be great since I stopped playing before I could use it after winning it in that tourney.
Personally I'd like to see a return of a story element and being able to create your own character and explore a world similar to how they did in Sacred Cards. Its the only thing I felt was missing from Legacy Of The Duelist. Being able to play through the events in the anime from the beginning to end would be pretty cool but I think if they a new original story would pretty awesome too. I also think being able to choose a structure deck at the start is kinda nice, so you can start building the kind of deck you actually want much quicker.
You're out of your element, XANA!

i want to buy ygo legacy but i'm not sure if i should buy it on switch or on pc
on both platforms i can get it for under 15β¬ and yeah, i can't really decide
how is the performance on switch? is it good, or does it lag sometimes? stable fps?
My focus when making these cards was to emulate to a degree how Angel Feather worked while containing the power level of the cards so the cards can't be as abused as an engine in other decks like how Clan Fight(now Nation Fight) works in Vanguard
I made it an Xyz deck because Xyz material are the closest that yugioh has to like the soul in vanguard along with explanations for each card listed below it
Angel Feather - Black Shiver, Gavrail
Rank 8 FAIRY/XYZ/EFFECT 3000 ATK/2000 DEF
1 Level 4 or lower monster and 1 Level 5 or higher monster
When this card is used as Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon, Banish the top 2 cards from your deck, if you do, Special Summon 1 Banished monster.
(Quick Effect) During your Main Phase, You can Xyz summon a Rank 9 or higher "Angel Feather" monster using this card as material and discarding 1 card. (Xyz Materials attached to this monster also become Xyz Materials on that card)
During the End Phase, while this card is an Xyz Material, Special Summon this card from the Xyz Materials of the monster summoned by this card's 2nd effect, if you do, transfer any of that monster's Xyz materials to this monster, then return the monster summoned by this card's effect to the Extra Deck.
(Not the best wording but basically what getting at is the monster summoned goes back to the extra deck and Gavrail gets summoned again with the xyz materials intact and the reason why the materials are 1 Level 4 or lower and 1 Level 5 or higher is mimic in how how you progress the game state in vanguard since you have to ride from grade 0-1-2-3 to play her since she is a grade 3 and the 2nd and 3rd effects are me trying to adapt how the stride mechanic would work in yugioh )
Angel Feather - Black Shock, Gavrail Prim
Rank 8 FAIRY/XYZ/EFFECT 3000 ATK/2000 DEF
1 Level 4 or lower monster and 1 Level 5 or higher monster
When this card is used as Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon, add 1 Banished card to your hand, if you did, Banish 1 card your opponent controls.
(Quick Effect) During your Main Phase, You can Xyz summon a Rank 9 or higher "Angel Feather" monster using this card as material and discarding 1 card. (Xyz Materials attached to this monster also become Xyz Materials on that card)
During the End Phase, while this card is an Xyz Material, Special Summon this card from the Xyz Materials of the monster summoned by this card's 2nd effect, if you do, transfer any of that monster's Xyz materials to this monster, then return the monster summoned
... keep reading on reddit β‘When I was younger, I played a little bit of the game and I quite enjoyed it. Now I have some younger brothers who play and I thought I could try playing again. So I dug up my old cards, brought them over, and sat down with the kids. I ask for a duel and all 4 immediatley get excited and rush over. I got shit on in about 3 seconds with a "Synchron Summon" and some "XYZ's". I just wanted to play my stupid little imp and summon my prized, beat up dark magician like the good old days. I was then told I suck and was laughed out of the room by a bunch of elementary children
Edit: I have decided to re-learn the game, buy some new cards, and show those children whose boss. Im excited
This happened some days ago. I have many Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and had one deck that I use to duel with my friends (none of the cards were original). I was at home looking and analyzing my deck and I had one Magician of Faith which was a little bigger than my other cards, had a light tone on its colors and had a mispell on its name. It was write "Magician of Failh".
So I went to call my friend to duel and took my deck with me, he live at the same block and it is only 3 houses away from mine. We talked and we went to my house to duel. When I came home and went to look at my deck, I had another Magician of Faith card at right next to my previous one. This second one was exactly like the first said. It was a little bigger than others, a light tone on its colors and even had the same error on its name, was "Magician of Failh".
EDIT: Here's the link to a picture of both cards: https://imgur.com/9lyJgS2
PS: I don't know if I can post a link with a picture of the two cards, please tell me if I can.
By best deck in modern I mean like if you built a strategy using cards that were legal at that time and played it against 2021 meta or other older decks using cards from their banlist. This is NOT taking into account a decks potential but just the raw powerlevel of the deck e.g the dragon ruler engine might be better than a dragonlink engine but a modern dragonlink deck would destroy a 2013 dragon ruler deck therefore dragonlink is stronger.
Like, I'm not talking the onslaught of villains that keep coming in to try to conquer the world. If anything, "Duel Monster" and "GX" are arguably the most blissful worlds to live in as you were blithely unaware of the megalomaniacs attempting to seal the world's fate through card games. "Duelist" was arguably a respected profession, but dueling didn't encompass life.
Nah. I'm talking about the later series, where dueling is just everyone's way of life. Like, there were literal wars in "Arc-V" where people could choose not to like you simply because you didn't special summon like they did.
Like, consider the Kastle family from "Zexal". Water-users. Like, did Reginald only take up his whole shark schtick because his dad would have disowned him if he tried to run a Fire attribute deck? Are there social dilemmas with children not affiliating with the same Types as their parents? Like, what if Crow ended up with a kid who insisted on using Spellcasters, despite him and his wife using strictly Winged Beast cards? What if Yuya had no interest in Performapal monsters like his dad, trying to use Maldoches instead? Would it be considered weird like Izuku being born quirkless to parents with quirks from "My Hero Academia"?
I dunno. Just a silly thought about some more of the slice-of-life issues that might crop up in a world run by a card game that even adults regularly participate in.
So I have a 49 card deck that I made for slifer and I want to know what cards I should add
Hi guys, I played yu gi oh all my childhood, stopped for a while for money reason and gor for a couple of years when xyz got introduced and then stopped for the same reason. Now finally i'm back with a stable work and i wanted to get right back in it. I wanted to buy a booster box (cause i really wanted one all my life but never could afford it) to get back in the game but this time to play it, and as a collector too, so here I am to ask, in your opinion, for a player who hasn't played since xyz, wich pack do you think I shoul buy to start again? Thank guys
Which of these three would you all like to see first,Iβm on either Joey or Bakuraβs side
