Winston Marshall. He read Ngo's new book, Unmasked, and congratulated him on Twitter in a now-deleted post that said, "Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man." What followed was a barrage of criticism from angry leftists causing Marshall to self cancel himself and step away from his band.
Winston Marshall tweeted that he needed to "examine my blindspots" after he praised Ngo for his book 'Unmasked,' which set off a storm of criticism on social media.
For more context, Andy Ngo was attacked in 2019 by a group of Antifa militants and protesters in Portland because they didn't like him. Video of the assault was captured. Andy Ngo regularly documents primarily left wing violence (though he also documents right wing violence) and his journalism can be followed on Twitter.
Portland's famous Powell's Books canceled Ngo's book from their store after angry leftists descended on Powell's books demanding they ban his book and threatening the owners and employees. Videos of the left wing violence and gatherings to ban the book are available to watch here, here, and here.
The protest escalated to the point where customers had to be escorted from the store for their safety, and the store closed down for the day to protect employees from the violent group.
