Is this some sort of provisional placeholder or "on paper only" move until the Phillies decide on a more permanent roster composed of newly signed draft picks (late June 2017) and younger players from the GCL, DSL, and extended spring training? Or is this some sort of technical error?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Luis Encarnacion was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent on his 16th birthday in 2013, where he was awarded a $1 million signing bonus. MLB.com ranked him as the best right-handed hitter of the class. It was a draft class that included Gleyber Torres, Rafael Devers, Lewin Diaz, Eloy Jimenez, and others. In 2014, at 16-years-old, he was the youngest player to appear in the Gulf Coast League. He repeated the league when he was 17 and played as the Phillies had expected. He homered in his first game and proceeded to hit 2 more over the next 6 games. It would end up being his best season. He hit .271 with 4 home runs. He was released in 2017 after hitting just .200, his highest average since hitting .271 two years prior. The Houston Astros signed him and he showed much more power with them, hitting a career-high 10 home runs but his average was only .213 and he was released soon after.
